Description (EN):

The main aim of the project is to develop cultural tourism in the border area (Kaliningrad Region and Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodeship) through increasing the quality of the provided services and therefore raising the popularity of cultural institutions. The project includes a number of different activities, including the construction of a studio warehouse with a part open for the public at the Folk Architecture Museum in Olsztynek. This means that tourists and residents will be able to enter the shared part of the warehouse and see how the collections are stored. The warehouse building is a copy of a stable with farm buildings in Tołkiny. The open-air museum also includes an educational and historical path leading to the Lithuanian facilities in the museum as well as the architectural designs Lithuanian buildings that no longer exist: stables, a barn, an earth basement from Pempen and a fisherman's cottage from Gilge. A project of a replica of a manor house from the area of former Prussia was also made. This is the first step to build them on the museum grounds. In the Zoological Garden in Kaliningrad, where the first facilities that can now be seen in Olsztynek were built before World War I, revitalisation was carried out, including land development, repair and construction of a fence. The Russian partner also planned to prepare documentation for the creation of a common aviary for wolves and bears. The partners have also planned several promotional activities, including the creation of a mobile application, a video presenting the construction of the studio warehouse and organisation of numerous other events.

Expected Results (EN): Increased number of visitors to the historical and natural heritage and cultural sites (basline value: 495,603; target value: 603,489).

Expected Outputs (EN): Number of cross-border cultural events organised using the Programme support 2; Number of improved cultural, historical touristic and natural sites as a direct consequence of programme support 2.
