Description (EN):

Current BCP building and traffic areas do not meet Finnish Customs or Border Guards requirements for customer services and controls. Finnish Customs need new facilities and equipment for to control growing cargo traffic. In order to ensure more fluent border crossing procedures and improve capacity of Raja-Jooseppi BCP, the project includes new customs/border control building, new traffic management arrangements including lane check area with roof structure, lane check facilities (booths) and facilities for further measures (second line) as well as all border control technology for border checks, border surveillance and customs control.

Expected Results (EN):

The expected change the project will make to the current situation will be smoother and safer Raja-Jooseppi border crossing. Passengers and goods (cars, trucks) will have shorter throughput times and improved procedures will minimize the risk of illegal immigration, export/import of illegal goods. The officers will have normal healthy working conditions.

Expected Outputs (EN):

The main outputs the project will produce are improved Raja-Jooseppi BC traffic lanes and areas, better functioning border crossing buildings and other constructions and installed BC equipment resulting smoother, safer and more secure throughput of passengers and goods. Healthy working conditions are also one of the main output.
