Description (DE):

Kupferlackdraht (120 000 TonnenJahr in NWE) wird für Transformatoren und Elektromotoren verwendet. Zugehörige Technologien sind mit Umweltherausforderungen konfrontiert und müssen, die Produktivität und Wettbewerbsfähigkeit steigern, die eine vollständige Überarbeitung ihrer Produktionsmethode erfordern. HI-ECOWIRE strebt die Entwicklung eines nachhaltigen und wettbewerbsfähigen Produktionsprozesses mit zwei Hauptzielen an: (i) Verbesserung der Energieeffizienz und des Wirkungsgrades von Elektromotoren um 20% - 30% durch Erhöhung der Wärmeklasse von 240°C auf 280°C/300°C; (ii) Ersetzen des aktuellen Lacks durch ein Polymer mit erhöhter thermischer und dielektrischer Leistung. Dieser Austausch sollte zu einer Reduzierung des Lösungsmittelverbrauchs um 90% führen. Die derzeitige Technologie verwendet ca.12 000 Tonnen Lack/Jahr mit giftigen Lösungsmitteln, die mit hohem Energieverbrauch verbrannt werden müssen. Die massiven CO2-Emissionen und die damit verbundenen NOX-Emissionen verursachen Sicherheitsprobleme, die diese industrielle Aktivität einschränken. Der Ersatz lösemittelbasierter Lacke durch Polymerextrusion würde nicht nur zur Reduzierung des Lösungsmittelverbrauchs und der VOC-Emissionen beitragen, sondern auch die Schaffung industrieller Aktivitäten in Bereichen ermöglichen, in denen dies derzeit nicht möglich ist. Das Projekt wird von einem internationalen Konsortium (Industrien, Forschungsinstitute) unterstützt, das sich zum Ziel gesetzt hat, die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit Europas im Verkehrs- und Energieerzeugungssektor zu stärken und gleichzeitig den CO2-Fußabdruck und den Einsatz von CMR-Lösungsmitteln zu verringern. Ausgehend von Produkten, die im Labormaßstab (TRL 3) validiert wurden, werden neue Technologien im industriellen Maßstab (TRL 6/7 am Ende des Projekts) validiert. Der ständige Austausch mit der Industrie auf der Grundlage eines soliden Kommunikationsprogramms wird der Schlüssel zum Erfolg des Projekts sein.

Description (EN):

Enameled copper wire (annual production of 120 000 tons in NWE) is used for transformers and electric motors. Materials technologies are facing increasing environmental challenges, productivity and competitiveness requiring a complete review of their production methods. Therefore, HI-ECOWIRE aims at developing a more sustainable and competitive production process with two main technical objectives: (i) Improve the energy performance and efficiency of electrical motors by 20% to 30 % compared to the current situation by increasing the thermal class from 240°C to 280/300°C; (ii) Replacing the current varnish by a polymer layer with higher thermal and dielectrical performances. This replacement is expected to lead to a reduction of solvent use by 90%. The current technology uses 12 000 tons/year of varnish with toxic solvents that must be burnt with high energy consumption during transport, storage and management. The consequent massive CO2 and NOX emissions are associated with security issues limiting this industrial activity. The replacement of the solvent-based varnish by polymer extrusion would thus not only help at reducing the solvent consumption and VOC emission but also allow possible creation of industrial activities in areas where it is currently not possible due to security and sanitary issues. The project is based on an international consortium (SMEs, Industries, Research Centers and Universities) aiming at strengthening European competitiveness in the transport sector and energy production (wind turbine) while reducing the carbon footprint and the use of CMR solvents. Starting from laboratory scale validated products (TRL 3) the project will optimize the new products and process and validate them at industrial scale reaching TRL 6/7 at the end of the project. Constant interactions with the industrial actors within and outside the consortium based on strong dissemination activities will be the key of success of the future technology transition.

Le fil de cuivre émaillé (production annuelle de 120 000 tonnes en NWE) est utilisé pour les transformateurs et les moteurs électriques. Les technologies associées sont confrontées à des défis environnementaux, à une productivité et à une compétitivité croissantes nécessitant une révision complète de leur mode de production. HI-ECOWIRE vise à développer un processus de production durable et compétitif avec deux objectifs majeurs: (i) Améliorer la performance énergétique et l'efficacité des moteurs électriques de 20% à 30% en augmentant la classe thermique de 240°C à 280/300 °C; (ii) Remplacer le vernis actuel par un polymère aux performances thermiques et diélectriques accrues. Ce remplacement devrait entraîner une réduction de 90% de 'utilisation de solvants. La technologie actuelle utilise 12 000 tonnes de vernis/an avec des solvants toxiques qui doivent être brûlés avec une consommation énergétique élevée lors du transport, du stockage et de la gestion. Les émissions massives de CO2 et de NOX associées donnent lieu à des problèmes de sécurité limitant cette activité industrielle. Le remplacement du vernis à base de solvant par extrusion de polymère contribuerait ainsi non seulement à réduire la consommation de solvant et les émissions de COV mais permettrait également la création 'activités industrielles dans des zones où elles ne sont actuellement pas possibles. Le projet s'appuie sur un consortium international (Industries, Instituts de Recherche) visant à renforcer la compétitivité européenne dans le secteur des transports et de la production 'énergie tout en réduisant l'empreinte carbone et l'utilisation de solvants CMR. Partant de produits validés à 'échelle laboratoire (TRL 3), les nouvelles technologies seront optimisées et validées à l'échelle industrielle (TRL 6/7 en fin de projet). Des interactions constantes avec les industries basées sur un programme de communication solide seront la clé du succès du projet
