Description
Description (EN): The entrepreneurial potential of the SKHU order region is far from being explored. There are numerous start-up initiatives, mainly centered in the capital cities and university towns, concentrating mainly on university students and young professionals. Meanwhile, young people with lesser education (fewer finished classes) living in the countryside are left with few possibilities to learn about innovation and entrepreneurship and/or to join the growing start-up ecosystem.
The past experiences of the organizations partnering up in the frame of the present project show that young people attending vocational schools possess a considerable innovation potential that can be revealed through adequate educational projects concentrating on practical competences.
Our goal is to organize a virtual international start-up competition for vocational school students (age group: 16-19 yrs.), based on a special blended learning course led by skilled mentors and an interactive digital platform that allows students to reflect on each other’s work. We will engage 2 x 18 mentors from at least 2 x 6 institutions, we will build a blended learning course of 2 x 6 weeks, we will train the mentors, involve 300 students and organize 2 x 3 regional-level competitions in local languages as well as one final competition in English. We will blend the methodology of vocational education with the spirit of the start-up ecosystem.
The project will be cost-effective, as it will firmly rely on the results of previous projects, so there is no need to build new digital infrastructure and the e-learning curricula, these assets will only be adjusted to the needs of the competition.
We will put an emphasis on the visibility of the project, and we will involve future sponsors who can guarantee the financial basis of future competitions thus assuring the long-term sustainability of the project.
Read more Description (HU): A vállalkozói potenciál az SKHU régióban messze menőleg kiaknázatlan.
A jövőben szponzorokat szeretnénk bevonni a projektbe, akik garantálják, a jövőbeli versenyek pénzügyi alapját, ezáltal biztosítva a projekt hosszú távú fenntarthatóságát.
Read more Description (SK): Podnikateľský potenciál v regióne SKHU nie je ani zďaleka využitý.
Read more Achievements (EN): The Program implemented a two-round international startup competition for high school students from Slovakia and Hungary, thereby helping to exploit the entrepreneurial potential of border regions.
For the participants, the project was a startup team competition combined with online and personal development, where they could expand their self-knowledge and entrepreneurial competencies. They were able to expand their knowledge on the digital educational interface, and at the same time, teachers mentored them from the beginning to the end of the project, supporting them in their personal development. During the competition, teams of 3 people founded virtual companies and learned about their strengths through the studies, and came up with entrepreneurial ideas, which they developed in detail. During the competition, the teams made team presentations, product presentation videos, and appeared on the virtual marketplace within the Application. They invested the points they earned during learning in each other's products for additional profit. The most successful teams received special prizes, but all competitors could exchange their virtual points for real prizes. Furthermore, in this project, at the end of the second round of the competition, a professional jury also evaluated the work of the contestants, giving constructive feedback regarding the business idea and its feasibility, as well as evaluating and ranking the participants based on several criteria, as to who they think will be “the best entrepreneur”.
Within the framework of the project, an interactive E-learning solution, ClassyEdu, served nearly 300 competing students with newly developed content and an improved framework. The digital education system provided an online mobile application and thus access to multilingual digital curriculum and assignments. It also functioned as a digital platform for the implementation of the start-up competition, by measuring the participating teams on a virtual marketplace and ranking the study results based on the points collected during the learning process.
Project in numbers:
2 countries, 12 schools, 36 teachers, 286 students

Expected Results (EN): The implementation of the project is based on the close cooperation between the three beneficiaries, from the beginning, thus even the PM activities are shared - as it is needed for the join cooperation, and explained under the project management activity. Communication activities are also carried out together (see info and publicity).
Looking at the following activities, we can say that all of them are carried out together too: for the success of the project it is essential that the preparation and the professional development are supported by all of the three beneficiaries. Innovation and methodology in this case needs to be revised by the two professional teaching beneficiaries (LB and B1) and B2 is needed to help the implementation of these. Also, visits, events (like competitions) are delivered with shared number of members from both sides of the border.
As a strong proof of this: developed materials will be designed and realized together, and the project results will be used and sustained together - participants and institutions will be involved 50-50% from the two countries’ border region.
Therefore all of the tangible outcomes and indicator numbers are created together.
Cooperation is essential in this project: the realization and the success of this idea is not manageable without a strong cross-border cooperation between the three beneficiaries.
