Description (EN):

Forests represent 59% of the surface area of the Pyrenees. They play a central role, both as a socio-economic sector providing essential local activity and as a major instrument in the regulation of current and extreme natural phenomena. To implement effective adaptation measures, knowledge must be real about impacts and response capacities at different scales (Ecosystemic, Temporal etc). The ACCLIMAFOR project proposes to: Measure the effects of climate change on Pyrenean forest species, analyze defoliation indicators measured in the past. -Implement adaptation measures in critical forest areas.-Transfer knowledge and practices to the relay actors of the forest sector. To achieve these objectives, the project will be based on: - The achievements of the CANOPEE project: a) diagnostic mapping tools which make it possible to identify forest stands on which vigilance must be maximum, b) phenological measurements on representative stands, c) the first adaptive management experiments. - A strong cross-border partnership: a) With strong expertise in forest management and climate change, b) With strong statutory and operational legitimacy, c) Demonstrating a strong capacity for training with forest sector actors. - The capitalization capacities of OPCC and in particular of the ADAPYR project.

Los bosques representan 59% de la superficie de los Pirineos. Asumen un papel mayor, tanto como sector socioeconómico aportando una actividad esencial en los territorios, como instrumento principal en la regulación de los fenómenos naturales actuales y extremos. Para implementar medidas de adaptación eficaces frente al cambio climático debe haber un conocimiento real sobre los impactos y las capacidades de respuesta en diferentes escalas (Ecosistémicas, Temporales etc). El proyecto ACCLIMAFOR propone: -Medir los efectos del cambio climático sobre las especies forestales pirenaicas, analizar los indicadores de defoliación medidos en el pasado -Implementar medidas de adaptación en áreas forestales críticas -Transferir los conocimientos y las prácticas a los actores de enlace del sector forestal. Para alcanzar estos objetivos, el proyecto se basará en: - Las realizaciones del proyecto CANOPEE: a) herramientas cartográficas de diagnóstico, que permiten identificar masas forestales en las que la vigilancia debe ser máxima, b) mediciones fenológicas en masas representativas, c) los primeros experimentos de gestión adaptativa. - Un partenariado transfronterizo sólido, contando con : a) Una fuerte experiencia en gestión forestal y cambio climático, b) Una legitimidad importante, estatutaria y operativa, c) Una fuerte capacidad de impacto sobre los actores del sector forestal. - Las capacidades de capitalización del OPCC y en particular del proyecto ADAPYR.

Les forêts représentent 59% de la surface des Pyrénées. Elles jouent un rôle central, tant comme secteur socio-économique pourvoyant une activité locale essentielle, que comme instrument majeur dans la régulation des phénomènes naturels courants et extrêmes. Pour mettre en œuvre des mesures d’adaptation efficaces, la connaissance doit être réelle sur les impacts et capacités de réaction, et ceci à différentes échelles (Écosystémiques, Temporelles etc). ACCLIMAFOR propose de: -Mesurer les effets du changement climatique sur les essences forestières pyrénéennes, analyser les indicateurs de défoliation mesurés par le passé. -Mettre en œuvre des mesures d’adaptation sur zones forestières critiques.-Transférer les connaissances et les pratiques aux acteurs relais du secteur forestier. Pour atteindre ces objectifs, le projet s’appuiera sur: - Les réalisations du projet CANOPÉE : a) outils cartographiques de diagnostic qui permettent d’identifier des peuplements forestiers sur lesquels la vigilance doit être maximale, b) les mesures de phénologie sur des peuplements représentatifs, c) les premières expérimentations de gestion adaptative.- Un partenariat transfrontalier solide: a) Doté d’une forte expertise sur la gestion forestière et le changement climatique, b) Disposant d’une importante légitimité statutaire et opérationnelle c) Démontrant une forte capacité d’entraînement auprès des acteurs de la filière forestière.-Les capacités de capitalisation de l’OPCC et notamment du projet ADAPYR.
