Description (EN):

France and Spain have been fighting against bovine tuberculosis (TB) for years, a disease with a high economic and social impact on the livestock sector and which poses a risk to public health. This project aims to create and consolidate a multidisciplinary transboundary R & D & I network. Its objective is to strength links and stablish synergies between different assets of the trans-Pyrenean region to generate greater knowledge and develop innovative tools that provide solutions to each of the challenges: Improve the specificity of the diagnosis, increase the biosecurity of the farms and reduce the risk of infection from wild and domestic reservoirs, control TB in goats and improve communication and the acceptability of Health Programs by the different actors involved. The expected results include: The characterization of animal TB risks in the region and optimization of its management, the development of communication and training strategies for the people involved in the eradication programs, the validation of new diagnostic methods and reagents; and the evaluation of vaccines and TB control tools. These results will contribute to the policies of animal TB eradication promoted by the European Commission and will benefit the productive sectors of the region and reduce the risk to public health.

Francia y España llevan años luchando contra la tuberculosis (TB) bovina, una enfermedad con un elevado impacto económico y social sobre el sector ganadero y que supone un riesgo para la salud pública. Este proyecto pretende crear y consolidar una red transfronteriza multidisciplinar de I+D+i con el objetivo de reforzar vínculos y crear sinergias entre diferentes activos de la región transpirenaica para generar mayor conocimiento y desarrollar herramientas innovadoras que aporten soluciones a cada uno de los retos planteados: mejorar la especificidad del diagnóstico, aumentar la bioseguridad de las granjas y reducir el riesgo de contagio a partir de reservorios silvestres y domésticos, controlar la TB en la especie caprina y mejorar la comunicación y la aceptabilidad de los programas sanitarios por parte de los diferentes actores. Entre los resultados esperados se encuentran: la caracterización de los riesgos de la TB animal en la región y optimización de su gestión, el desarrollo de estrategias de comunicación y formación entre las personas implicadas en los programas de erradicación, la validación de nuevos métodos y reactivos de diagnóstico y la evaluación de vacunas y herramientas de control de la TB. Estos resultados contribuirán a las políticas de erradicación de la TB animal impulsadas por la Comisión Europea y redundarán en beneficio de los sectores productivos de la región y en la reducción del riesgo para la salud pública

La France et l’Espagne ont lutté pendant des années contre la tuberculose (TB) bovine, une maladie avec un impact économique et social élevé dans le secteur de l’élevage et qui représente un risque pour la santé publique. Ce projet vise à créer et consolider un réseau transfrontalier multidisciplinaire de R+D+I dans le but de renforcer les liens et créer des synergies entre les différents actifs de la région transpyrénéenne pour générer des connaissances et développer des outils novateurs qui apportent des solutions à chacun des enjeux posés: améliorer la spécificité du diagnostic, augmenter la biosécurité des fermes et réduire le risque de contagion par le biais de réservoirs sauvages et domestiques, contrôler la TB chez l'espèce caprine et améliorer la communication et l’acceptabilité des programmes sanitaires de la part des différents acteurs. Parmi les résultats attendus on peut retrouver : la caractérisation des risques de la TB animale dans la région et l’optimisation de sa gestion, le développement de stratégies de communication et de formation entre les personnes impliquées dans les programmes d’éradication, la validation de nouvelles méthodes et de réactifs de diagnostic et l’évaluation de vaccins et d’outils de contrôle de la TB. Ces résultats contribueront aux politiques d’éradication de la TB animale mises en œuvre par la Commission Européenne et serviront les intérêts des secteurs productifs de la région et dans la réduction du risque pour la santé publique.
