Description (EN):

PLASTIC0PYR responds to the challenge of making tourism compatible with the conservation and improvement of mountain fluvial ecosystems. The general objective of the project is to reduce in a sustainable way the accumulation of plastics in the mountain ecosystems and their subsequent transport to the sea. The results obtained in natural areas located in the Pyrenees of Catalonia, Andorra and France will be: the development of tools to evaluate and disseminate the environmental impact of plastics on fluvial ecosystems; less production of plastic wastes and a better management; the involvement of citizens in the investigation of plastics pollution and in the co-creation of self-sustainable use and substitution models. The project will offer unique protocols to be shared in the three countries which represent a reduction of the cost in the development of management strategies. This entails a greater interaction between the parties that share objectives and therefore maximizes the positive synergies between the different stakeholders. It also entails the improvement of the ecological quality of rivers with subsequent reduction of local and downstream depollution costs; landscape improvement with territories endowed with protection regulations and therefore attractivity enhancement of the area.

PLASTIC0PYR responde al reto de hacer compatible el turismo con la conservación y mejora de los ecosistemas fluviales de montaña. El objetivo general del proyecto es prevenir de manera sostenible la acumulación de plásticos en los ecosistemas de montaña y evitar su transporte hacia el mar. Los resultados esperados en espacios naturales situados en los Pirineos de Cataluña, Andorra y Francia son: el desarrollo de herramientas que permitan evaluar y divulgar el impacto ambiental de los plásticos sobre los ecosistemas fluviales; la reducción de la producción de residuos y la mejora de su gestión; la participación de la ciudadanía en la investigación de la contaminación por plásticos y en la co-creación de modelos de aprovechamiento y sustitución auto-sostenibles. El proyecto ofrecerá protocolos comunes en los tres países lo que representa una reducción del coste en el desarrollo de las estrategias de gestión. Ello conlleva una mayor interacción entre las partes que comparten objetivos y por tanto maximizan las sinergias positivas entre los distintos responsables de la gestión. También significa la mejora de la calidad ecológica de los ríos con una disminución de los costes de limpieza y depuración locales y aguas abajo; una mejora paisajística acorde con ser territorios dotados de figuras de protección y por tanto la revalorización de la zona.

PLASTIC0PYR répond au défi de rendre le tourisme compatible avec la conservation et l'amélioration des écosystèmes aquatiques de montagne. L’objectif général du projet est de réduire de manière durable l’accumulation de plastiques dans les écosystèmes de montagne et leur transport vers la mer. Les résultats obtenus dans les zones naturelles situées dans les Pyrénées de Catalogne, Andorre et la France seront les suivants: identification des plastiques les plus consommés; développement d'outils évaluant leur impact sur les écosystèmes de rivières; plus grande sensibilisation par les citoyens de l'impact environnemental de leurs habitudes de consommation; co-participation à la recherche sur la pollution aux plastiques et co-création de modèles économiques circulaires. Le projet proposera des protocoles uniques partagés pour les trois pays, représentant une réduction du coût de développement des stratégies de gestion. Cela implique une plus grande interaction entre les acteurs partageant des objectifs et maximise les synergies positives entre les différentes parties prenantes. Cela permet aussi l'amélioration de la qualité écologique des rivières avec une réduction des coûts de dépollutions locale et en aval; une amélioration du paysage avec des territoires dotés de réglementations en matière de protection et ainsi un renforcement de l'attractivité des territoires.
