On December 1st, 2015, UNESCO included in the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity the "Festivals of the Summer Solstice Fire in the Pyrenees", 63 towns in Andorra (3), Spain (17) and France (34). The initiative arose from the bearers of the fest and materialized itself in a candidacy presented by the Andorran State in conjunction with the Spanish and French States. PROMETHEUS arises from such recognition and seeks to capitalize it through cross-border innovation carried out within universities and research centres. Its main objective is to transfer knowledge to society through educational and informative products, establishing two major actions: 1) the creation of unheard of educational tools at a higher level and in the field of formal education, and 2) the design and development of innovative informative materials in the framework of ICTs. PROMETHEUS will develop a joint, innovative strategy in the field of social sciences, certainly to develop in what will be referred to as the fire festivals of the Pyrenees, to enhance the common heritage of the three states and facilitate the work of companies and associations cultural activities.

El 1 de diciembre de 2015, la UNESCO incorporó en la Lista Representativa del Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad las “Fiestas del Fuego del Solsticio de Verano en los Pirineos”, 63 poblaciones de Andorra (3), España (17) y Francia (34). La iniciativa surgió de los portadores de la fiesta y se materializó con una candidatura presentada por el Estado andorrano junto con los Estados español y francés. PROMETHEUS surge a propósito de dicho reconocimiento y pretende capitalizarlo mediante la innovación transfronteriza realizada en el seno de las universidades y centros de investigación. Su objetivo principal consiste en transferir el conocimiento a la sociedad mediante productos formativos y divulgativos, estableciendo dos grandes acciones: 1) la creación de herramientas formativas inéditas a nivel superior y en el ámbito de la educación formal, y 2) el diseño y desarrollo de materiales divulgativos innovadores en el marco de las TICs. PROMETHEUS desarrollará una estrategia conjunta, innovadora en el ámbito de las ciencias sociales, ciertamente por desarrollar en lo que se refirere a las fiestas del fuego de los Pirineos, que potencie el patrimonio común de los tres estados y facilite la labor de las empresas y asociaciones culturales del territorio.

Le 1er décembre 2015, l’UNESCO a inscrit sur la Liste représentative du patrimoine culturel immatériel de l’humanité les « Fêtes du feu du solstice d’été dans les Pyrénées », 63 localités d’Andorre (3), Espagne (17) et France (34). L’initiative est née des porteurs de la fête et s’est matérialisée par une candidature présentée par l’État andorran associé aux États espagnols et français. PROMETHEUS découle de cette reconnaissance et vise à la capitaliser au travers de l’innovation transfrontalière menée au sein des universités et des centres de recherche. Son objectif principal consiste dans le transfert des connaissances vers la société grâce à des productions de formation et de médiation, réparties en deux grands axes : 1) la création d’outils de formation inédits au niveau supérieur dans le domaine de l’éducation formelle, et 2) la conception et le développement de matériels innovants de médiation dans le cadre des TIC. PROMETHEUS développera une stratégie commune et innovante dans le secteur des sciences sociales, qui reste largement à développer pour ce qui concerne les fêtes du feu dans les Pyrénées, qui enrichisse le patrimoine commun des trois États et facilite l’activité des entreprises et associations culturelles du territoire.

Achievements (EN):

The Prometheus project, led by the Chair of Education and Intangible Heritage of the Pyrenees (CEPIP) of the University of Lleida (UdL) closes its activity with three actions still in force and with future projections. This is the virtual museum; the fallari suitcases, which are already at the disposal of schools in the territory; and the package of communication tools, which once designed, resources will need to be found to be able to produce it.
