Description (EN):

The general objective of VITISAD project is the promotion of agronomic practices, which allow the adaptation to the climate change of the vineyard in the western area of the POCTEFA. For this purpose, we propose to assess such practices through conventional agronomic trials, but also in vineyard plots. In addition, the results will be transferred to the sectorial and administrative authorities for their potential inclusion in future strategies. It is expected to demonstrate and implement techniques that allow: (I) maintaining the quality of wines under the climate change conditions, and (ii) avoiding the environmental risks that may cause the future climatic conditions, such as soil erosion. One of the main results of the project will be the elaboration of a guide on sustainable crop management adapted to the new climatic conditions, taking into account the soil, the health of the vineyard and the plant material. Both winegrowers, wineries and the bodies responsible for defining policy making dealing with climate change will benefit from these results. The added value of carrying out this project in a cross-border territory is that many of the obtained results in one region can be transferred to others. On the other hand, the existing climate gradation will help to better understand the climatic phenomenon that affects us.

El objetivo de VITISAD es el fomento de prácticas agronómicas que permitan la adaptación del viñedo del área occidental del espacio POCTEFA al cambio climático (CC). Para ello se propone evaluar dichas prácticas en ensayos agronómicos clásicos, pero también en parcelas de viticultor. Además, se trasladarán los resultados a las autoridades sectoriales y administrativas para su posible inclusión en las estrategias futuras. Se espera demostrar y poner en marcha técnicas que permitan: i) mantener la calidad de los vinos bajo las condiciones de cambio climático, y ii) eviten los riesgos ambientales que las condiciones climáticas futuras causarán, como por ejemplo, la erosión del suelo. Uno de los principales resultados del proyecto será una guía de manejo del cultivo sostenible y adaptado a las nuevas condiciones climáticas teniendo en cuenta el suelo, la salud del viñedo y el material vegetal. Tanto los viticultores como las bodegas y los organismos responsables de definir estrategias para hacer frente al cambio climático se beneficiarán de estos resultados. El valor añadido de llevar a cabo este proyecto de manera transfronteriza reside en que muchos de los resultados que se obtengan en una región se podrán trasladar al resto de regiones. Por otra parte, la gradación climática existente ayudará a entender mejor el fenómeno climático que nos afecta.

L'objectif général de VITISAD est le développement de pratiques agronomiques qui permettraient aux vignobles de la zone ouest de l'espace POCTEFA de s’adapter au Changement Climatique (CC). Nous proposons donc d'évaluer ces pratiques à travers des essais agronomiques classiques, mais aussi à travers les parcelles des viticulteurs. En outre, les résultats obtenus seront transférés aux autorités administratives et sectorielles, de manière à être incluses dans leurs stratégies futures. Nous prévoyons de démontrer et mettre en marche des pratiques qui permettent de: i) maintenir la qualité des vins dans des conditions de Changement Climatique, et ii) éviter les risques environnementaux qui seraient causés par les futures conditions climatiques, tels que l'érosion des sols. L'un des principaux résultats de ce projet sera la préparation d’un guide pour la gestion durable des cultures adapté aux nouvelles conditions climatiques, en tenant compte du sol, de la santé de la vigne et du matériel végétal. Tant les établissements vinicoles, que les viticulteurs et les organismes chargés des stratégies de lutte contre le Changement Climatique, bénéficieront de ces résultats. La valeur ajoutée de ce projet transfrontalier est que la plupart des résultats obtenus dans une région peuvent être transférés à d'autres. En outre, la gradation climatique existante pourra nous aider à mieux comprendre le phénomène climatique qui nous affecte.
