Through the activities of the present Project, the two applicants will further strengthen the already established communication bridge in the cross-border region, which would promote – the preservation of cultural heritage by providing knowledge and skills of craftsmanship to the young generations and create digital tools that make the results of the project accessible to the local communities in the cross border region. The project can, indirectly, activate the openness within the population, fosters the exploration of cultural similarities and create the possibility to accept differences and unique values. One of the project activities will be the regional survey of handcrafting traditions in order to identify which crafts are extant and what are the needs of their practitioners in order to enable their preservation in the new digital age. Another activity will be the intergenerational summer workshop whereupon older craftspersons will transfer the knowledge and skills in handcrafting to high-school students from both sides of the borer. The principal activity of the Project will be in fact the filming and production of a bilingual TV series on handcrafting traditions in the cross-border region which will be aired on local and regional TV stations. The aim is to raise awareness of the general public regarding the common cultural heritage. In order to preserve this heritage in a new digital age, a website ‘E-Handcraft’ will be developed which will serve as an educational platform, hosting tutorials in handcrafting, but will also promote their tourist potential.

Expected Outputs (EN):

1, One regional study about the cultural heritage of handicraft traditions. 2, One training programme in traditional handcrafts developed and 20 high-school students trained in traditional process of handcrafting. 3, Created a bilingual TV series on handcraft ready for broadcast and on-line access. 4, A Cross-border educative E-Handcraft platform developed.
