Description (EN):

The agricultural sector is facing the challenge of developing food production so that it contributes more to meeting global demand for food, while at the same time producing production with a lower climate impact than today. Farming without greenhouse gas emissions is not possible, but just like the rest of society, emissions need to be reduced if climate targets are to be met. The goal of the project is to contribute to a faster implementation of new technology and knowledge in agriculture. It in turn promotes the production and distribution of energy from renewable sources. The project will achieve this by strengthening the natural resources schools and the students’ role as change leaders in the transition to a more climate-neutral agriculture. They will support schools to develop more and better practices and activities. The project will contribute to transferring knowledge and best practice across regional and national borders, as well as developing new knowledge and experiences together. An important development area is the transition to renewable fuels for tractors and working machines, and the drying of cereals. Agriculture also has a great potential through new cultivation methods.

Lantbrukssektorn står inför utmaningen att utveckla matproduktionen så att den i högre grad bidrar till att möta den globala efterfrågan på livsmedel, samtidigt som produktionen måste ske med en lägre klimatpåverkan än idag. Att bedriva lantbruk utan växthusgasutsläpp är inte möjligt, men precis som resten av samhället behöver utsläppen minska ifall klimatmålen ska nås. Målet med projektet är att bidra till en snabbare implementering av ny teknik och kunskap i lantbruket. Det ska i sin tur främja produktion och distribution av energi som hämtas från förnybara källor. Projektet ska uppnå detta genom att stärka naturbruksskolorna och elevernas roll som förändringsledare i omställningen till ett mer klimatneutralt lantbruk. De ska stödja skolorna till att utveckla fler och bättre metoder och aktiviteter. Projektet ska bidra till att överföra kunskap och best practice över regions- och landsgränser, samt utveckla ny kunskap och erfarenheter tillsammans. Ett viktigt utvecklingsområde är omställningen till förnybara drivmedel för traktorer och arbetsmaskiner, och torkning av spannmål. Lantbruket har även en stor potential att genom nya odlingsmetoder.
