Lithuanian-Polish borderland is exceptional in terms of diverse, picturesque nature and unique culture linked to the common historical past, constituting the basis for wide variety of tourist attractions. Project "Wellness tourism revealing the natural and cultural heritage of Trakai and Gižycko regions" is initiated to foster sustainable growth of tourism in the cross-border region by improving wellness tourism and preserving natural and cultural heritage. Two immediate objectives are set within the framework of the project - to improve cultural and natural heritage infrastructure and adapt it to the touristic needs and to take joint actions for cross-border tourism development. Main project's activities: installation of the hiking trail on the shore of Lake Luka (I stage, LB) and improvement of the tourism infrastructure in the Rural municipality of Giżycko, Great Masurian Lakes area (B2). Organisation of international family camps cherishing local traditions, promotion of Trakai and Gižycko cultural heritage, initiating ecotherapy activities, strengthening local communities and cross-border dialogue through cultural activities, promoting wellness tourism. Project activities will contribute to: - Improving and building recreational facilities so people could build community and boost tourism of cultural and natural heritage sites; - Offering greater variety of cultural activities by cherishing local customs and culture, revitalizing tourism attractions and destinations; - Improving customer service as the key to a tourism industry by developing a tourism vision – joint cultural programme of wellness tourism.

Pogranicze polsko-litewskie jest wyjątkowe pod względem różnorodnej, malowniczej przyrody i unikalnej kultury związanej ze wspólnym dziedzictwem historycznym, stanowiąc bazę dla szerokiej gamy atrakcji turystycznych. Projekt "Turystyka zdrowotna ujawniająca dziedzictwo przyrodnicze i kulturowe regionów Trok i Giżycka" został zainicjowany w celu wspierania zrównoważonego rozwoju turystyki w regionie transgranicznym poprzez rozwój turystyki wellness oraz zachowanie dziedzictwa przyrodniczego i kulturowego. W ramach projektu wyznaczono dwa bezpośrednie cele - poprawa infrastruktury dziedzictwa kulturowego i przyrodniczego i dostosowanie jej do potrzeb turystycznych oraz podjęcie wspólnych działań na rzecz rozwoju turystyki transgranicznej. Główne działania projektu: utworzenie szlaku turystycznego nad brzegiem jeziora Luka (I etap, LB) oraz poprawa infrastruktury turystycznej w gminie wiejskiej Giżycko, na obszarze Wielkich Jezior Mazurskich (B2), organizacja międzynarodowych obozów rodzinnych pielęgnujących lokalne tradycje, promocja dziedzictwa kulturowego Trok i Giżycka, inicjowanie działań z zakresu ekoterapii, wzmacnianie społeczności lokalnych i dialogu transgranicznego poprzez działania kulturalne, promocja turystyki wellness. Działania projektu przyczynią się do: - Budowy/modernizacji obiektów rekreacyjnych, co przyczyni się do budowania transgranicznych społeczności i rozwoju turystyki w miejscach o szczególnym znaczeniu dla dziedzictwa kulturowego i przyrodniczego; - Oferowania większej różnorodności działań kulturalnych poprzez pielęgnowanie lokalnych zwyczajów i kultury oraz rewitalizację atrakcji turystycznych i miejsc docelowych; -Udoskonalenia procesu obsługi klienta, a co za tym idzie rozwój przemysłu turystycznego poprzez opracowanie wizji wspólnego programu kulturalnego opartego na turystyce wellness.

Lietuvos ir Lenkijos pasienio regionas yra išskirtinis dėl įvairialypės, vaizdingos gamtos ir unikalios kultūros, susijusios su bendra istorine praeitimi, kuri sudaro pagrindą įvairių turizmo objektų garsinimą. Projektu "Sveikatingumo turizmas, atskleidžiantis gamtos ir kultūros paveldą Trakų ir Gižycko regionuose" inicijuojama tvaraus turizmo augimas pasienio regione, gerinant sveikatingumo turizmą kartu išsaugant gamtos ir kultūros paveldą. Projekto rėmuose keliami du svarbiausi tikslai - kultūros ir gamtos paveldo infrastruktūros pagerinimas ir pritaikymas turizmo poreikiamsm sudarant sąlygas tolimesnei pasienio turizmo plėtrai. Pagrindinės projekto veiklos: pėsčiųjų tako Luko ežero pakrantėje įrengimas (I etapas) (LT) ir turizmo infrastruktūros gerinimas Gižycko savivaldybėje, Didžiųjų Mozūrų ežerų vietovėje (PL). Tarptautinių šeimos stovyklų organizavimas puoselėjant vietos tradicijas, Trakų ir Gižycko kultūros paveldo populiarinimas, ekoterapijos veiklų inicijavimas, vietos bendruomenių ir tarpvalstybinio dialogo stiprinimas per kultūrinę veiklą, sveikatingumo turizmo skatinimas.

Achievements (EN):

Installation works of the hiking trail on the shore of Lake Luka and improvement of the tourism infrastructure in the Giżycko Municipality Great Masurian Lakes area has been done as a result of the project. Joint tourism route has been developed and described in the joint cultural programme of wellness tourism. Partners purchased equipment of the rural community center in Kożuchy Wielkie and equipment of the rural community center in Wronka. What is more, family days events and Culinary heritage days were organised by the partners.
