In the Culture Across project — cultural bridges across the March — the Municipality of Marchegg (LB) and the Museum of the City of Bratislava (PP1) work together to preserve their cultural heritage and to increase the awareness of the local population on both sides of the border for these cultural monuments. This strengthens the tourist attractiveness of the entire border region in the heart of Central Europe (Marchfeld-Záhorie- Bratislava). The following three key points are implemented in Culture Across: The restoration and renovation of historic buildings and outdoor facilities in the immediate vicinity of the Marchegg Castle and Devín Castle (in the AP5-7 work packages) aim to increase the attractiveness of the sites in need of renovation. Thus, they become a modern, barrier-free excursion destination of the 21st century for cultural professionals and those interested in culture on both sides of the border with a wide range of uses such as cross-border events. In the castle area of Marchegg, a unique baroque castle ensemble, the annexes are renovated, the areas on the forecourt of the area with the main entrance and the medieval Viennese gate, as well as the castle park including the garden walls and sculptures are revitalised. Furthermore, the historic castle bridge into the Au, which lies directly behind the castle and plays an important role in the education of nature, is restored in a contemporary form. At Devín Castle, one of the most important archaeological sites in Central Europe with a history of almost 7,000 years, the existing buildings are renovated and the entire castle area in the underground is extensively explored. The roofing of the archaeological findings of the early Christian chapel, which is of great importance in cultural history, is being refurbished.

Obec Marchegg (LB) a Múzeum mesta Bratislavy (PP1) spolupracujú v rámci projektu Culture Across – Kultúrne mosty cez rieku Morava na zachovaní ich kultúrneho dedičstva a zvyšovaní povedomia širokej verejnosti o významných kultúrnych pamiatkach na oboch stranách hranice. Táto skutočnosť prispieva k zvyšovaniu návštevníckeho potenciálu a atraktivity celého pohraničného regiónu v srdci strednej Európy (región Marchfeld – Záhorie – Bratislava). Projekt Culture Across sa zameriava na tri kľúčové body: Obnova a renovácia historických budov vo vonkajších priestoroch alebo v bezprostrednej blízkosti kaštieľa Marchegg a hradu Devín (v rámci pracovných balíkov PB5 až PB7) má za cieľ zvýšenie atraktivity lokalít, ktoré si v súčasnosti vyžadujú sanáciu. Vďaka tomu pre návštevníkov, záujemcov o kultúru a iné zainteresované strany stanú modernými, bezbariérovými a atraktívnymi destináciami cestovného ruchu zohľadňujúcimi potreby verejnej prezentácie kultúrneho dedičstva v 21. storočí so širokým spektrom využitia (napr. cezhraničné podujatia a mnohé ďalšie). V areáli kaštieľa Marchegg, jedinečného barokového kaštieľneho komplexu, budú zrenovované vedľajšie budovy, revitalizované predné nádvoria areálu s hlavným vstupom a Viedenskou bránou, ako aj záhrady kaštieľa vrátane záhradných múrov a sôch. V rámci rozsiahlej revitalizácie areálu bude moderným spôsobom obnovený historický most do priľahlých nív, ktorý je situovaný priamo za kaštieľom a zohráva dôležitú úlohu pri sprostredkovaní lokálneho prírodného bohatstva. Na hrade Devín, jednom z najdôležitejších archeologických nálezísk strednej Európy s bohatou, takmer 7000 rokov starou históriou, bude realizovaná rekonštrukcia a sanácia historickej architektúry a v rámci obsiahleho archeologického výskumu preskúmaný celý hradný areál až na jeho podložie. Renovačné práce zároveň zahŕňajú aj rekonštrukciu krycej stavby archeologických nálezov ranokresťanskej kaplnky, ktorá má nevyčísliteľný kultúrno-historický význam.

Im Projekt Culture Across – Kulturbrücken über die March – arbeiten die Stadtgemeinde Marchegg (LB) und das Museum der Stadt Bratislava (PP1) gemeinsam daran, ihr Kulturerbe zu erhalten und das Bewusstsein der lokalen Bevölkerung beiderseits der Grenze für diese Kulturdenkmäler zu stärken. Dadurch wird die touristische Attraktivität der gesamten Grenzregion im Herzen Mitteleuropas (Region Marchfeld-Záhorie- Bratislava), gestärkt. Folgende drei Kernpunkte werden in Culture Across umgesetzt: Die Wiederherstellung und Renovierung von historischen Gebäuden und den Außenanlagen in der unmittelbaren Umgebung des Schlosses Marchegg und der Burg Devín (in den Arbeitspaketen AP5-7), haben das Ziel die Attraktivität der sanierungsbedürftigen Standorte zu erhöhen. Damit werden sie für Besucherinnen und Besucher, für Kulturschaffende und Kulturinteressierte beiderseits der Grenze zu einem modernen, barrierefreien Ausflugsziel des 21. Jahrhunderts mit vielfältigen Nutzungsmöglichkeiten wie z.B. grenzüberschreitenden Veranstaltungen. Im Schlossareal von Marchegg, einem einzigartigen barocken Schlossensemble, werden die Nebengebäude renoviert, die Bereiche am Vorplatz des Areals mit dem Hauptzugang und dem mittelalterlichen Wienertor, sowie der Schlosspark inkl. der Gartenmauern und der Skulpturen revitalisiert. Weiters wird die historische Schlossbrücke in die Au, die direkt hinter dem Schloss liegt und eine wichtige Rolle für die Naturvermittlung spielt, in zeitgemäßer Form wiedererrichtet. Auf der Burg Devín, einer der wichtigsten archäologischen Stätten in Mitteleuropa mit einer fast 7000 Jahre alten Geschichte, werden die vorhandenen Bauwerke saniert und das gesamte Burgareal im Untergrund umfassend archäologisch erforscht. Die Überdachung der archäologischen Befunde der frühchristlichen Kapelle, die kulturhistorisch von großer Bedeutung ist, wird saniert.

Po implementácii projektu sa budúce užívanie kaštieľa Marchegg a hradu Devín spolu s ich areálmi zabezpečené. Obe lokality sú zatraktívnené a ponúkajú širokú škálu možností ich využitia. Môžu byť využité ako miesta pre organizáciu podujatí, turistické (výstavy, sprostredkovanie kultúry a prírody) alebo ako miesta pre oddych pre lokálnych a regionálnych (cezhraničných) návštevníkov. V rámci investičných aktivít projektu budú na hrade Devín spevnené murivá historických architektúr v jeho areáli, zrekonštruované prekrytie vzácnej ranokresťanskej kaplnky zo 4. storočia v rámci príprav na jej sprístupnenie návštevníkom. Vďaka inovatívnemu informačnému a navigačnému systému sa budú návštevníci pri vstupe do areálu, ako aj v samotnom areáli sami lepšie orientovať. Systém zároveň zabezpečí, že sa areál hradu Devín stane dostupnejším aj pre zrakovo a sluchovo postihnutých, pre ktorých doteraz nie je zabezpečený plnohodnotne bezbariérový prístup. Archeologického výskumu na hrade Devín bude z väčšej časti ukončení a bude možné začať s prípravou a následnou realizáciou architektonického riešenia nového moderného návštevníckeho centra a budovy pre správu hradu Devín, ktoré v súčasnosti na hrade chýba

Expected Results (DE):

Nach der Umsetzung des Projekts ist die zukünftige Nutzung der beiden Standorte Schloss Marchegg und Burg Devin mit ihren Arealen gesichert. Die Standorte sind attraktiviert und bieten eine Vielfalt an Möglichkeiten für ihre Nutzung. Sie können als Veranstaltungsort, touristisch (Ausstellungen, Kultur- und Naturvermittlung etc.) sowie als Naherholungsgebiet für die Bevölkerung genutzt werden. Die Investitionen sind dadurch nachhaltig genutzt. Im Rahmen der Investitionstätigkeit des Projekts ist das Mauerwerk der historischen Gebäude im Areal der Burg Devín saniert und die Überdachung der einzigartigen frühchristlichen Kapelle aus dem vierten Jahrhundert rekonstruiert. Dank eines innovativen Informations- und Leitsystems können sich die Besucherinnen und Besucher beim Betreten des Geländes, sowie innerhalb des Geländes selbst, besser orientieren. Das Informationssystem ist auch für seh- und hörbeeinträchtigte Personen ausgelegt, denen sich nun ein barrierefreier Zugang bietet. Die archäologischen Befundungen auf dem Burggelände sind weitgehend abgeschlossen und es ist nun möglich mit der Vorbereitung des Entwurfs und der Implementierung einer architektonischen Lösung für ein neues modernes Besucherzentrum und ein Gebäude für die Verwaltung der Burg Devín zu beginnen, was derzeit noch fehlt.
