ImProfEdu project’s objective is to improve professional education by using digital technologies and focused on the needs of the labour market in Russia and Finland. The overall result of the project for working life and economy in both countries will increase international skills and competence to act in a multicultural environment.

ImProfEdu hankkeen tavoitteena on parantaa ammatillista koulutusta digitaalitekniikoiden avulla keskittyen Venäjän ja Suomen työmarkkinoiden tarpeisiin. Hankkeen kokonaistulos työelämästä ja taloudesta molemmissa maissa lisää kansainvälisiä taitoja ja pätevyyttä toimia monikulttuurisessa ympäristössä.

Achievements (EN):

The aim of the ImProfEdu project was to improve vocational training with the help of digital technologies, focusing on the needs of the Russian ja Finnish labour market. Key measures include the tourism and service sector, hair and beauty and interior design, and customer service units, which include a study platform for developing skills and competencies when working in a multicultural company in Finland or abroad. The open platform with learning materials, virtual workshops and webinars will be implemented in Finnish, English and Russian. Enhanced cooperation between businesses and vocational training in both countries is also an important performance target. Developing a new digital learning environment that brings together part of the degree to facilitate working in a multicultural work environment. Work-based learning has become more efficient and work-based learning has increased. The international skills of the staff are improving. Companies get employees who are trained, skilled and motivated to meet their future needs. ImProfEdu-project had five partners, the lead partner Kouvola Region Vocational College KSAO (City of Kouvola); from 1.1.2022 Kouvola Vocational Institute Ltd. Eduko, EKAMI vocational college (Joint Authority of Education of Kotka-Hamina Region) Kotka and in St. Petersburg IBIN ( Sankt-Petersburg Institute of Business and Innovations), SPASK (St. Petersburg State Budgetary Professional Institution “St. Petersburg College of Architecture and Construction”) and Petrovsky College ( St. Petersburg Budgetary Professional Education College”. IBIN was the coordinating partner of Russian participants. The project has developed know-how when working in a multicultural company in Finland or Russia. Enhanced cooperation between businesses and vocational training in both countries has been one of the key performance targets. Because of the crisis in Ukraine the Finnish partners had to make changes to the curriculum so that it can be carried out only in Finnish and EU educational frames. The aim was to compile the results of the project into digital learning environment in collaboration with EduKo and Ekami, and to supplement the course with materials that present the Russian language and the cultural differences of our people. Despite the big challenges, we were able to complete a study unit that can also be used as part of students' learning in the future. The materials from ImProfEdu-platform were moved, edited and organised into Itslearning-mode, that is in wide use in Ekami and in Eduko for teaching and studying purposes. This work was extensive and time-consuming, but we gained a lot of material that we can continue to use in our teaching and students can also use it independently. Each member of the project worked on material for a common learning platform, held virtual learning sessions and participated expert lectures. Study trips and workshops deepened what was learned. The ImProfEdu -project made all this possible. The Final report was done by collecting answers from all the professional teams from Eduko and Ekami.
