In the project requested here, a programme is to be carried out and evaluated at 10 different schools at primary and secondary level in the border area of Salzburg/Bavaria, focusing on the perception, evaluation and reflection of the so-called ‘inner multilingualism’. This refers to the linguistic diversity between Poland’s dialect and standard language, which still plays an important role in many parts of the border region of Salzburg/Bavaria. This entails many socially widespread interpretations of language variables and, in times of internal and external migration, many questions of (linguistic) affiliation/integration. In schools, this complex topic has so far been attributed to a quite different significance in Austria and Bavaria. The Lead Partner University of Salzburg develops teaching materials for the development of a fundamental sociolinguistic understanding and conscious handling of language variables in cooperation with the Association of Bairic Languages and Dialects and incorporating already existing materials from Bavaria. Students are guided to think about their own language repertoire and their linguistic environment, critically question common assessments and stereotypes, and experience language variables as an important part of identity and social affiliation. As a result, the lead partner will carry out training courses for the teachers (permanent teacher training module) at the cooperating schools. School partnerships are being promoted between schools. The implementation of the programme is scientifically accompanied and evaluated by the University of Salzburg. The overall project is subject to a cooperation agreement, e.g. School offices, Bildunsdirektion Salzburg and advocacy groups. A public launch and closing event completes the overall project.

Im hier beantragten Projekt soll an 10 verschiedenen Schulen auf Primar- und Sekundarstufe I im Grenzraum Salzburg/Bayern ein Programm durchgeführt und evaluiert werden, das die Wahrnehmung, Bewertung und Reflexion der so genannten ‚inneren Mehrsprachigkeit‘ in den Mittelpunkt stellt. Damit ist die sprachliche Vielfalt zwischen den Polen Dialekt und Standardsprache gemeint, die in weiten Teilen der Grenzregion Salzburg/Bayern noch eine bedeutende Rolle spielt. Damit verbunden sind viele gesellschaftlich verbreitete Be- und Abwertungen von Sprachvarietäten und in Zeiten von Binnen- und Außenmigration auch viele Fragen von (sprachlicher) Zugehörigkeit/Integration. In den Schulen wird dieser komplexen Thematik in Österreich und Bayern bislang ein recht unterschiedlicher Stellenwert zugeschrieben. Der Lead-Partner Universität Salzburg entwickelt in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Förderverein bairische Sprache und Dialekte und unter Einbezug bereits existierender Materialien aus Bayern Unterrichtsmaterialien für die Erarbeitung eines grundlegenden soziolinguistischen Verständnisses und bewussten Umgangs mit Sprachvarietäten. Die Schüler/innen werden darin angeleitet, über ihr eigenes Sprachrepertoire und ihre sprachliche Umwelt nachzudenken, gängige Bewertungen und Stereotype kritisch zu hinterfragen und Sprachvarietäten als wichtigen Teil von Identität und sozialer Zugehörigkeit zu erfahren. In der Folge werden vom Lead-Partner Schulungen für die Lehrer/innen (dauerhaftes Lehrerfortbildungsmodul) an den kooperierenden Schulen durchgeführt. Zwischen den Schulen werden Schulpartnerschaften forciert. Die Durchführung des Programms wird von der Universität Salzburg wissenschaftlich begleitet und evaluiert. Das Gesamtprojekt unterliegt einer Kooperationsvereinbarung zw. Schulämtern, Bildunsdirektion Salzburg und Interessensvertretungen. Eine öffentlichkeitswirksame Auftakt- und Abschlussveranstaltung runden das Gesamtprojekt ab.

Expected Outputs (DE): Langfristige Kooperationspartnerschaft zwischen Bildungseinrichtungen, Universität, Förderverein und weiteren Interessensvertretungen. Langfristiges Fortbildungsmodul für LehrerInnen der Primar- und Sekundarstufe I . Langfristige Schulkooperationen.
