Description (EN):

The main aim of the project is to improve the attractiveness of neglected cultural heritage sites in Gdańsk and the Kaliningrad Region through strengthening cross-border cooperation aimed at restoring cultural heritage and using innovative technologies to preserve and protect them. Within the project in Gdańsk, renovation of the 18th-century Studzienka facility (former Heiligenbrunn) is planned. The works include, inter alia, renovation of the manor house, both inside and outside along with landscaping around the building, installation of a platform for the disabled, installation of a security system and fencing. The building will house a creative work center, including a cross-border cooperation center for the integration of youth from different countries. On the Russian side of the border, in the village of Veselovka (Kaliningrad Region), reconstruction works are planned for the Yudshen complex, where Immanuel Kant lived for several years. The works include reconstruction of the North Wing and the surroundings being part of the complex. The reconstructed building will house, among others, an exhibition about Kant's life and scientific work, a new conference room and several other rooms. Within “soft” activities, the partners planned the organization of conferences, student internships concerning infrastructure reconstruction and archaeological research as well as workshops and classes for students and specialists. Moreover, as part of the project 3 permanent exhibitions will be created in the renovated facilities and publications will be issued.

Expected Results (EN): Increased number of visitors to the historical heritage and cultural sites (baseline line value – 7 350, target value – 56 800).

Expected Outputs (EN):

Number of cross-border cultural events organised using the Programme support – 11. Number of improved cultural, historical, touristic and natural sites as a direct consequence of programme support – 2. Number of organisations using programme support for promoting local culture and preserving historical heritage – 4.
