Objectives: Consolidate cross-border mechanisms for maintaining and restoring biodiversity and ecosystem services in the Alentejo-Algarve-Andalusia Natura 2000 network; the promotion and use of ecological methodologies and production systems appropriate to protected wetlands. Evaluate the systems and methodologies for a more appropriate ecological production with a view to improving the conservation status of coastal areas of the southwestern Iberian Peninsula, promoting their use, aiming to increase rehabilitated areas and their profitability and contribute to a more efficient management of these areas with special emphasis on increasing knowledge and technology transfer. Activities: 1 — Creation of a georeferenced system (GIS) for the areas of salt and aquaculture production in the coastal zone of Alentejo, Algarve and Andalusia, which allow a sustainable management of these areas. 2 — Identification, analysis and evaluation of the services of the Natural Capital ecosystem of different models of aquaculture respectful to the environment. 3 — Research and development actions of different aquaculture models respecting the environment and generating ecosystem services. 4 — Actions of training and technological transfer of methodologies in the aquaculture production areas of the coastal area of Alentejo, Algarve and Andalusia. 5 Gestión y Coordinación. 6 Comunicación. Results: Update the georeferenced information system created under the AQUA & AMBI Phase 1 project (0240_AQUA_AMBI_6_P) for the salt and aquaculture production areas in the coastal area of Alentejo, Algarve and Andalusia, to enable a sustainable, careful and rapid management of the wetlands of these regions. Quantify and value ecosystem services, improve habitat conservation status, restore biodiversity and decrease degraded areas. Foster knowledge of methodologies, products and integrated production systems appropriate to protected wetlands. This is an innovative eco project with the concept of increasing the profitability of an area with a view to its protection and recovery.

Objetivos: Consolidar os mecanismos transfronteiriços para a manutenção e recuperação da biodiversidade e dos serviços do ecossistema na Rede Natura 2000 Alentejo-Algarve-Andaluzia; a promoção e o uso de metodologias e sistemas de produção ecológicos apropriados a zonas húmidas protegidas. Avaliar os sistemas e metodologias para uma produção ecológica mais apropriada com vista a melhorar o estado de conservação das áreas costeiras do sudoeste da Península Ibérica, promover o seu uso, visando aumentar as zonas reabilitadas e a sua rentabilidade e contribuir para uma gestão mais eficiente destas áreas com especial ênfase no aumento do conhecimento e na transferência de tecnologia. Actividades: 1 - Criação de um sistema georeferenciado (SIG) para as áreas de salgado e produção aquícola na zona costeira do Alentejo, Algarve e Andaluzia, que permitam uma gestão sustentável dessas áreas. 2 - Identificação, análise e avaliação dos serviços do ecossistema do Capital Natural de diferentes modelos de aquacultura respeitosas para com o meio ambiente. 3 - Ações de investigação e desenvolvimento de diferentes modelos de aquacultura respeitosos para com o meio ambiente e geradoras de serviços do ecossistema. 4 - Ações de formação e transferência tecnológica de metodologias de nas áreas de produção aquícola da zona costeira do Alentejo, Algarve e Andaluzia. 5 Gestión y Coordinación. 6 Comunicación. Resultados: Atualizar o sistema de informação georreferenciado criado no âmbito do Projecto AQUA&AMBI Fase 1 (0240_AQUA_AMBI_6_P) para as áreas de salgado e produção aquícola na zona costeira do Alentejo, Algarve e Andaluzia, para permitir uma gestão sustentável, cuidadosa e célere das zonas húmidas destas regiões. Quantificar e valorizar os serviços do ecossistema, melhorar o estado de conservação dos habitats, restaurar a biodiversidade e diminuir as áreas degradadas. Fomentar o conhecimento de metodologias, produtos e sistemas de produção integrada apropriados a zonas húmidas protegidas. Este é um projeto eco inovador com o conceito de aumentar a rentabilidade de uma área tendo em vista a sua proteção e recuperação.
