Carrying out interventions in historic buildings is a particular challenge due to the restrictions and prohibitions associated with respecting and preserving their form. The project 'ANAVATHMIZO' will address the challenge of energy upgrading of the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Cyprus and the City Hall of Heraklion Crete, the Venetian Loggia, and their conversion into standard ostentatious buildings from high-performance buildings, within the framework of the cooperation program "Greece - Cyprus 2014-2020". The overall goal of the project is to meet and serve the European and national goals for the transition to a low carbon economy. The result will be the increase of energy efficiency and Renewable Energy Sources utilization in the two historic buildings, and at the same time the development & application of innovative technologies and portable construction practices, the enhancement of sustainable mobility and the information and awareness of citizens and market players and society. in energy sustainability items. Η πραγματοποίηση επεμβάσεων σε ιστορικά κτήρια αποτελεί ιδιαίτερη πρόκληση λόγω των περιορισμών και απαγορεύσεων που σχετίζονται με το σεβασμό και τη διατήρηση της μορφής τους. Με το ΑΝΑΒΑΘΜΙΖΩ θα αντιμετωπισθεί στο πλαίσιο του προγράμματος συνεργασίας “Ελλάδα – Κύπρος 2014-2020”, η πρόκληση ενεργειακής αναβάθμισης του Προεδρικού Μεγάρου της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας και του Δημαρχείου Ηρακλείου Κρήτης, της βενετικής Λότζιας, και μετατροπής τους σε πρότυπα επιδεικτικά κτήρια υψηλής ενεργειακής απόδοσης. Ο συνολικός στόχος του έργου εντάσσεται και υπηρετεί τους ευρωπαϊκούς και εθνικούς στόχους για τη μετάβαση προς μία οικονομία χαμηλού αποτυπώματος άνθρακα. Αποτέλεσμα θα είναι η αύξηση της ενεργειακής απόδοσης και της αξιοποίησης ΑΠΕ στα δύο ιστορικά κτήρια, και παράλληλα η ανάπτυξη & εφαρμογή καινοτόμων τεχνολογιών και μεταφέρσιμων κατασκευαστικών πρακτικών, η ενίσχυση της βιώσιμης κινητικότητας και η ενημέρωση και ευαισθητοποίηση των πολιτών και των παραγόντων της αγοράς και της κοινωνίας σε αντικείμενα ενεργειακής αειφορίας. Οι κύριες αναμενόμενες εκροές είναι τα δύο πρότυπα έργα ενεργειακής αναβάθμισης των δύο ιστορικών κτηρίων, ένας σταθμός φόρτισης στο Προεδρικό, έντυπα και ηλεκτρονικά υλικά προβολής του έργου, δράσεις διάχυσης της γνώσης και ευαισθητοποίησης (ημερίδες, σεμινάρια, ανοικτές εκδηλώσεις κλπ), η θεσμοθέτηση κοινού στρατηγικού πλαισίου Ελλάδας – Κύπρου για την αύξηση της Ενεργειακής Απόδοσης δημοσίων κτηρίων σημαντικής αρχιτεκτονικής, ιστορικής και κοινωνικής αξίας, ένας Οδηγός έργων κ.ά. Ωφελούμενοι θα είναι η Προεδρία της Κυπριακής Δημοκρατίας, ο Δήμος Ηρακλείου που ως ιδιοκτήτες των αναβαθμισμένων κτηρίων θα κάνουν εξοικονόμηση πόρων, οι παράγοντες της αγοράς των δύο περιοχών που θα ενσωματώσουν νέες τεχνολογίες και οι κάτοικοι που εφαρμόζοντας τις νέες γνώσεις θα εξοικονομούν με τη σειρά τους πόρους και θα απολαμβάνουν καλύτερο περιβάλλον, ενώ στην περίπτωση της Λευκωσίας θα υπάρξει και βελτίωση της κινητικότητας λόγω ηλεκτροκίνησης.Οι επεμβάσεις στα δύο ιστορικά κτήρια θα γίνουν στη βάση «συνολικού ενεργειακού σχεδιασμού» στο πλαίσιο διεπιστημονικής (μηχανολόγοι, αρχιτέκτονες, αρχαιολόγοι κ.ά.), διασυνοριακής προσέγγισης και συνεργασίας. Ιδιαιτέρως σημαντική κρίνεται η ανταλλαγή πρακτικών διαχείρισης της αρχιτεκτονικής κληρονομιάς ανάμεσα στις δύο χώρες. Η προτυποποίηση των επιλύσεων θα γίνει με στόχο τη μεταφερσιμότητα και τη διευκόλυνση επομένων παρεμβάσεων στον μεγάλο αριθμό τέτοιων κτηρίων, δημοσίων & ιδιωτικών, σε Ελλάδα και Κύπρο.

Expected Results (EN):

The results of the project are varied with economic, social and environmental dimensions. As the selected buildings are landmarks, a particularly significant impact is expected. At the environmental level, the implementation of the project contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. At the same time, it eliminates flue gas emissions, helping to improve air quality and maintain a clean environment. Primary energy savings and rational management practices are also important. In the social field, the results of the project cultivate in the users of the selected buildings, as well as in the market players and the wider public, environmental awareness, education and awareness, enhancing the prospects of sustainability in modern urban centers. The project contributes to raising awareness, informing and changing the perceptions of the public and stakeholders on issues of energy saving, energy efficiency, alternative energy sources, etc. In addition, public buildings equipped with modern, innovative and intelligent technologies will be good examples that will promote and promote technological intelligence as a fundamental feature of the buildings of the future. The project will also contribute to the development of technical training and know-how, as well as to the upgrading of the skills of professionals in energy efficiency of buildings and Renewable Energy Sources, with the aim of strengthening this sector in the construction industry. In general, in terms of the economic aspect, the implementation of the project will result in a significant reduction of energy costs in the selected buildings, while it will be a springboard for the promotion of the market of energy restorations of historic buildings and the development of this new market segment.

Τα αποτελέσματα του έργου είναι ποικίλα με οικονομικές, κοινωνικές και περιβαλλοντικές διαστάσεις. Καθώς τα επιλεγέντα κτήρια αποτελούν τοπόσημα, αναμένεται ιδιαίτερα σημαντικός αντίκτυπος. Σε περιβαλλοντικό επίπεδο, η υλοποίηση του έργου συντελεί στη μείωση των εκπεμπόμενων αερίων του θερμοκηπίου. Παράλληλα, αποκλείει τις εκπομπές καπναερίων συμβάλλοντας στη βελτίωση της ποιότητας του αέρα και στη διατήρηση καθαρού περιβάλλοντος. Σημαντική είναι επίσης η εξοικονόμηση πρωτογενούς ενέργειας και οι πρακτικές ορθολογικής διαχείρισής της. Στον κοινωνικό χώρο, τα αποτελέσματα του έργου καλλιεργούν τόσο στους χρήστες των επιλεγέντων κτηρίων, όσο και στους παράγοντες της αγοράς και στο κοινό ευρύτερα, περιβαλλοντική συνείδηση, παιδεία και ευαισθητοποίηση, ενισχύοντας τις προοπτικές της αειφορίας στα σύγχρονα αστικά κέντρα. Το έργο συμβάλλει στην αύξηση της ευαισθητοποίησης, στην ενημέρωση και στην αλλαγή των αντιλήψεων του κοινού και των ενδιαφερόμενων φορέων σε θέματα εξοικονόμησης ενέργειας, αποδοτικής χρήσης ενέργειας, εναλλακτικών πηγών ενέργειας κλπ. Πέραν τούτων, τα δημόσια κτήρια εφοδιασμένα με σύγχρονες, καινοτόμες και ευφυείς τεχνολογίες, θα αποτελούν καλά παραδείγματα που θα προβάλλουν και θα προωθούν την τεχνολογική ευφυΐα ως θεμελιώδες χαρακτηριστικό για τα κτήρια του μέλλοντος. Επίσης, το έργο θα συντελέσει στην ανάπτυξη της τεχνικής κατάρτισης και τεχνογνωσίας, καθώς και στην αναβάθμιση των δεξιοτήτων των επαγγελματιών σε θέματα ενεργειακής απόδοσης κτηρίων και ΑΠΕ, με στόχο την ενίσχυση του εν λόγω τομέα στην οικοδομική βιομηχανία. Γενικώς, αναφορικά με την οικονομική πτυχή, η υλοποίηση του έργου θα έχει ως αποτέλεσμα τη σημαντική μείωση του ενεργειακού κόστους στα επιλεγέντα κτήρια, ενώ θα αποτελέσει εφαλτήριο για την προώθηση της αγοράς ενεργειακών αποκαταστάσεων ιστορικών κτηρίων και στην ανάπτυξη του νέου αυτού τομέα της αγοράς.

Expected Outputs (EN):

The project outputs support and fulfill its objectives in the context of "integrated energy planning" actions for the creation of models of smart sustainable buildings, which will serve as models for future energy upgrades of public historic buildings and for the cultivation of sustainable environmental awareness. The expected outputs of the project in combination with the sub-objectives (ff) that they support, are as follows: a) Implementation of demonstration projects of intelligent historic buildings of high energy efficiency in two emblematic public buildings (Cyprus Presidential Palace and Heraklion City Hall - Loggia) with energy upgrades of the shells, energy efficient heating / cooling systems from heating, low energy production, lighting charging of electric vehicles, installation of intelligent control systems and management / optimization of the energy behavior of BMS buildings (also 1, 2, 3). b) Actions to promote the project and its results through a project portal in connection with BMS, utilization of social media, online access to a final project report, best practice manual, publications in scientific journals, scientific conferences, press conferences. Also two major training and awareness campaigns for pupils / students, public officials, professionals and the public (also 4). c) Promotion of the selected buildings as model demonstration projects of Renewable Energy Sources utilization, intelligent systems and energy saving ( also 4). d) Institutionalization of a joint strategic framework of Greece - Cyprus for the increase of the Energy Efficiency of public buildings of important architectural, historical and social value ( also 2).

Οι εκροές του έργου υποστηρίζουν και εκπληρώνουν τους στόχους του στο πλαίσιο δράσεων “ολοκληρωμένου ενεργειακού σχεδιασμού” για τη δημιουργία πρότυπων έξυπνων αειφορικών κτηρίων, τα οποία θα λειτουργούν ως υποδείγματα για επόμενες ενεργειακές αναβαθμίσεις δημοσίων ιστορικών κτηρίων και για την καλλιέργεια αειφορικής περιβαλλοντικής συνείδησης. Οι αναμενόμενες εκροές του έργου σε συνδυασμό με τους επιμέρους στόχους (επ.στ.) που υποστηρίζουν, έχουν ως ακολούθως: α) Υλοποίηση πρότυπων επιδεικτικών έργων ευφυών ιστορικών κτηρίων υψηλής ενεργειακής απόδοσης σε δύο εμβληματικά δημόσια κτήρια (Προεδρικό Μέγαρο Κύπρου και Δημαρχείο Ηρακλείου – Λότζια) με ενεργειακή αναβάθμιση των κελυφών, ενεργειακά αποδοτικά συστήματα θέρμανσης/ψύξης, φωτισμό χαμηλής κατανάλωσης, παραγωγή ενέργειας από ΑΠΕ, σταθμό φόρτισης ηλεκτροκίνητων οχημάτων, εγκατάσταση έξυπνων συστημάτων ελέγχου και διαχείρισης/βελτιστοποίησης της ενεργειακής συμπεριφοράς των κτηρίων BMS (επ.στ. 1, 2, 3). β) Δράσεις προβολής του έργου και των αποτελεσμάτων του μέσω διαδικτυακής πύλης έργου σε σύνδεση με τα BMS, αξιοποίησης μέσων κοινωνικής δικτύωσης, διαδικτυακής πρόσβασης τελικής έκθεσης έργου, εγχειριδίου βέλτιστων πρακτικών, δημοσιεύσεων σε επιστημονικά περιοδικά, επιστημονικές ημερίδες, δημοσιογραφικές διασκέψεις. Επίσης δύο μεγάλες εκστρατείες επιμόρφωσης και ευαισθητοποίησης μαθητών/σπουδαστών, δημοσίων λειτουργών, επαγγελματιών και του κοινού (επ.στ. 4). γ) Προώθηση των επιλεγέντων κτηρίων ως πρότυπων επιδεικτικών έργων αξιοποίησης ΑΠΕ, ευφυών συστημάτων και εξοικονόμησης ενέργειας (επ.στ. 4). δ) Θεσμοθέτηση κοινού στρατηγικού πλαισίου Ελλάδας – Κύπρου για την αύξηση της Ενεργειακής Απόδοσης δημοσίων κτηρίων σημαντικής αρχιτεκτονικής, ιστορικής και κοινωνικής αξίας (επ.στ. 2).
