Building on cultural and historical legacy of the Ardud Fortress in the North Western Romania and the Pniv Fortresses in the Western Ukraine, the project overall goal is to increase economic and livelihood opportunities of local communities by employing tourism potential of the cross-border cultural heritage thus ensuring its conservation and sustainable use.

Expected Results (EN):

2 heritage sites with improved safety / sanitary conditions / accessibility; 1 heritage site conserved; 100% Increase in duration of a typical visit to the Pniv and Ardud Fortresses heritage sites; 20% Increase in number of visitors benefiting from improved outdoor infrastructure at the Pniv and Ardud Fortresses heritage sites; 176 cross-border heritage counterparts who improved their competencies in management skills, built professional links to exploit opportunities around heritage interpretation and tourism development; 5 Increased in number of overnight stays in Ivano-Frankivsk region and Satu Mare county from 2016 until 2020.

Expected Outputs (EN): 10 institutions using programme support for promoting local culture and preserving historical heritage; 2 improved cultural and historical sites.
