CROSSMINDS wil een antwoord bieden op drie recente ontwikkelingen: het aanwakkeren van levenslang leren voor professionals, de toegenomen interesse in grensoverschrijdende mobiliteit van professionals en studenten en het benutten van de opportuniteiten binnen het afstandsonderwijs (naar aanleiding van de COVID-crisis). Het project zal lesmodules realiseren die specifiek gericht zijn op professionals en (ingenieurs)studenten met een technisch profiel. Het overkoepelend thema is ‘smart industries’ waarbij de betrokken universiteiten uit Hasselt, Leuven, Gent, Maastricht en Fontys hogescholen telkens één module zullen uitwerken. Studenten en professionals zullen samen online en fysiek één of meerdere lesmodules volgen. De lesmodule is challenge based en voorziet kansen om in een grensoverschrijdend en multidisciplinair team te werken aan een case uit de praktijk, die door een deelnemende professional wordt aangedragen. Ook worden mogelijk nieuwe samenwerkingen tussen projectpartners onderzocht, door o.a. het organiseren van inspiratiedagen waarin nieuwe initiatieven worden voorgesteld met het oog op verdere grensoverschrijdende samenwerking.

CROSSMINDS wants to respond to three recent developments: the promotion of lifelong learning for professionals, the increased interest in cross-border mobility of professionals and students and the use of opportunities within distance learning (as a result of the COVID crisis). The project will realize teaching modules specifically aimed at professionals and (engineering) students with a technical profile. The overarching theme is 'smart industries', in which the involved universities from Hasselt, Leuven, Ghent, Maastricht and Fontys colleges will each develop one module. Students and professionals will follow one or more teaching modules online and physically. The teaching module is challenge-based and provides opportunities to work in a cross-border and multidisciplinary team on a case from practice, which is presented by a participating professional. New collaborations between project partners may also be explored, for example by organizing inspiration days in which new initiatives are proposed with a view to further cross-border collaboration.
