Aan weerszijden van de Frans-Belgische grens werken verenigingen samen rond de bewustmaking van de kustgebruikers en de versterking van hun slagkracht door gevarieerde, ludieke en participatieve activiteiten voor te stellen. De vrijwilligers van twee verenigingen, Horizon Educatief in Oostende en het CPIE Flandre Maritime in Zuydcoote, hebben besloten samen een grensoverschrijdend actieprogramma op te zetten om de bevolking bewust te maken van mariene vervuiling. De Noordzee is inderdaad een gebied met een rijke biodiversiteit: bepaalde menselijke activiteiten kunnen verontreiniging veroorzaken die het leven in zee ernstige schade kan toebrengen. Afval, en in het bijzonder plastic microafval, is een van de belangrijkste, maar minst begrepen bedreigingen. Het doel van dit project is de kustgebruikers uit te leggen wat de oorsprong is van zwerfvuil op zee, welke gevolgen dit heeft voor het leven in zee en welke acties dagelijks ondernomen moeten worden om het in te perken.

De part et d’autre de la frontière franco-belge, des associations œuvrent à la sensibilisation des usagers du littoral, mais aussi au renforcement de leur pouvoir d’agir en proposant des activités variées, ludiques et participatives. Les bénévoles de deux associations, Horizon Educatief à Oostende et le CPIE Flandre Maritime à Zuydcoote, ont décidé d’élaborer conjointement un programme d’actions transfrontalier de sensibilisation aux pollutions marines. En effet, la Mer du Nord est un espace riche de biodiversité : certaines activités humaines peuvent générer des nuisances causant de graves préjudices à la vie marine. Les déchets, et en particulier les micro-déchets de plastique, constituent aujourd’hui l’une des menaces les plus importantes et les moins appréhendées par le grand public. L’objectif de ce projet est d’expliquer aux usagers du littoral l’origine des déchets marins, leurs conséquences sur la vie marine ou encore les actions à mener au quotidien pour les réduire.

On both sides of the Franco-Belgian border, associations are working to raise awareness among coastal users and to empower them by offering varied, fun and participatory activities. The volunteers of two associations, Horizon Educatief in Oostende and the CPIE Flandre Maritime in Zuydcoote, have decided to jointly develop a cross-border action programme to raise awareness of marine pollution. While the North Sea may be an area rich in biodiversity, certain human activities can generate pollution causing serious harm to marine life. While waste, and in particular plastic micro-waste, is one of the major threats, public appreciation of the issue is sorely lacking. The aim of this project is to explain to coastal users the origin of marine waste, its consequences on marine life and the behaviour to be adopted on a daily basis to reduce it.

Om de onderwijswereld bewust te maken van het probleem van de mariene vervuiling en het verenigingsleven nieuw leven in te blazen door vrijwilligers te laten samenwerken aan een grensoverschrijdend project, voorziet dit microproject in: - de uitwerking van een ruimer actieplan dat een eerste overzicht geeft van de initiatieven die mogelijks kunnen zorgen voor een vermindering van de mariene vervuiling en de vervuiling van de binnenwateren; - de organisatie van een evenement dat is gewijd aan het grensoverschrijdende netwerk, maar ook aan het grote publiek; - de bewustmaking van het publiek, zodat er een mentaliteitsverandering komt ten aanzien van het thema afvalbeheer en de gevolgen ervan voor het milieu; - de opzet van schoolactiviteiten rond het thema "Clean Sea"; - een grensoverschrijdende bewustmakingscampagne, alsmede acties die moeten worden ondernomen om het project via verschillende digitale media te verspreiden.

Afin de sensibiliser le monde de l’éducation à la question des pollutions marines et de dynamiser la vie associative en permettant à des bénévoles d’œuvrer ensemble à la réalisation d’un projet transfrontalier, ce micro-projet prévoit : -la réalisation d’un plan d’action élargi qui offrira un premier aperçu des initiatives pouvant entraîner une réduction des déchets marins et des eaux intérieures ; -l’organisation d’un événement dédié au réseau transfrontalier mais également au grand public ; -la prise de conscience du public entraînant un changement de mentalité sur le thème de la gestion des déchets et de leurs impacts sur l’environnement ; -la création d’animations scolaires sur le thème ‘Clean Sea’ ; -une campagne de sensibilisation transfrontalière ainsi que des actions à entreprendre pour diffuser le projet sur différents médias numériques.

In order to raise awareness of the issue of marine pollution in the world of education and to galvanize the associative sector by enabling volunteers to work together on a cross-border project, this micro-project plans to: - set up an extended action plan that will offer a first overview of initiatives that can lead to a reduction of marine and inland water waste; - organise an event dedicated to the cross-border network but also to the general public; - raise public awareness leading to a change of mentality on the subject of waste management and its impact on the environment; - create school activities on the theme of 'Clean Sea'; - set up a cross-border awareness campaign as well as communication measures to disseminate the project on different digital media.

Expected Outputs (NL):

1 actieplan, 3 bezoeken van vrijwilligers aan natuur- en erfgoedsites, 1 tweetalige woordenlijst, 1 vergadering van deskundigen-vrijwilligers, 1 creatie van een schoolactiviteit, 1 opleiding van leerkrachten, 1 communicatieplan, 1 verslag van de publieksenquête, 1 creatie van een tweetalige promotieposter.

1 plan d'action ; 3 visites de sites naturels et patrimoniaux par les bénévoles ; 1 glossaire bilingue des mots ; 1 temps de rencontre experts-bénévoles ; 1 création d'animation scolaire ; 1 formation d’enseignant ; 1 plan de communication ; 1 rapport sur l'enquête auprès du public ; 1 création d'affiche bilingue de promotion.

Expected Outputs (EN): 1 action plan, 3 visits to natural and heritage sites by volunteers, 1 bilingual glossary of words, 1 expert-volunteer meeting, 1 creation of a school activity, 1 teacher training course, 1 communication plan, 1 report on the public survey, 1 bilingual promotional poster.
