Geothermische energie is een duurzame energiebron met verschillende voordelen. Het maakt gebruik van een hernieuwbare energiebron die is opgeslagen in de vorm van warmte in de ondergrond en die zeer weinig CO2-uitstoot veroorzaakt. De energie-, economische en milieucontext waarin we evolueren (strijd tegen de opwarming van de aarde), geeft aanleiding tot bezinning en brengt ons ertoe deze natuurlijke hulpbron te beschouwen als een competitief element in een regionaal energiebeleidsprogramma. Naast de vermindering van de uitstoot van broeikasgassen zijn er sociaaleconomische gevolgen die rechtstreeks verband houden met de aantrekkingskracht van propere energie voor industriële investeerders, potentiële bouwers, de tertiaire sector, enz. en culturele voordelen via het merkimago en de mentaliteitsverandering die het teweegbrengt. Dit project heeft tot doel meer bekendheid te geven aan deze hernieuwbare energiebron, een grensoverschrijdende bron die vaak verkeerd wordt begrepen.

La géothermie constitue une source d'énergie durable qui présente différents atouts. Elle exploite une source d'énergie renouvelable stockée sous forme de chaleur dans le sous-sol qui entraîne très peu d'émissions de CO2. Le contexte énergétique, économique et environnemental dans lequel nous évoluons (lutte contre le réchauffement climatique) suscite la réflexion et amène à considérer cette ressource naturelle comme un élément compétitif dans un programme de politique énergétique régionale. À la réduction des émissions de gaz à effet de serre s'ajoutent des retombées socio-économiques directement liées à l'attractivité d'une énergie propre mise à la disposition d'investisseurs industriels, de candidats bâtisseurs, du secteur tertiaire... ainsi que des retombées culturelles via l'image de marque et le changement de mentalité qu'elle entraîne. Le présent projet souhaite sensibiliser le tout un chacun à cette énergie renouvelable, ressource transfrontalière, souvent méconnue.

Geothermal energy is a sustainable source of energy with several advantages. It exploits a renewable energy source stored as heat in the subsoil with very low CO2 emissions. The current energy, economic and environmental context (fight against global warming), gives rise to reflection and prompting us to consider this natural resource as a competitive element in a regional energy policy programme. In addition to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, there are socio-economic benefits directly linked to the attractiveness of clean energy made available to industrial investors, potential builders, the tertiary sector, etc., as well as cultural benefits via the brand image and the change in mentality that it brings about. This project aims to raise awareness of this renewable energy, a cross-border resource that is often little known.

Expected Results (NL):

De territoriale stakeholders willen een educatief instrument rond het thema geothermie ontwerpen, nl. een soort "educatieve koffer": een eenvoudige, gepopulariseerde en ludieke presentatie van wat geothermische hulpbronnen zijn, met als hoofddoel het jonge publiek bewust te maken van geothermie, de oorsprong van de hulpbron, de winning, het gebruik, de troeven, de meerwaarde ervan voor de ecologische transitie, enz. Het verwachte resultaat is tweeledig: enerzijds het grote publiek bewuster maken van deze weinig bekende energiebron en anderzijds alle aspecten van geothermische energie op een synthetische, gepopulariseerde en beknopte manier uitleggen. Deze actie is in de eerste plaats gericht op jongeren, want zij zijn de volwassenen van morgen! En indirect gaat het erom hun ouders en de schoolomgeving te bereiken. De educatieve koffer moet zich ook richten op andere mogelijke doelgroepen, zoals plaatselijke verkozenen, technici van plaatselijke overheden, bedrijven of maatschappelijke organisaties binnen een proces van bewustmaking, toe-eigening en aanpassing... De in het kader van het project uitgewerkte instrumenten zullen ook worden gebruikt voor wetenschappelijke en culturele doeleinden, zoals tentoonstellingen of seminaries/conferenties op verschillende plaatsen in het grensoverschrijdende gebied, maar ook daarbuiten (Futuroscope in Poitiers, Cité des Sciences in La Vilette, enz.).

Les acteurs territoriaux souhaitent concevoir un outil pédagogique sur le thème de la géothermie de type « malle pédagogique » : une présentation simple, vulgarisée et ludique de ce qu’est la ressource géothermique, l’objectif principal étant de sensibiliser le jeune public à la géothermie, l’origine de la ressource, son extraction, son utilisation, ses atouts, sa plus-value dans la transition écologique, etc. Le résultat escompté est double : à la fois sensibiliser le tout public à cette ressource énergétique méconnue et expliquer de manière synthétique, vulgarisée et concise tous les aspects de la géothermie. Le public jeune est principalement visé dans le cadre de cette action car ce sont les adultes de demain ! Et indirectement, il s’agit de toucher leurs parents et les encadrants scolaires. La malle pédagogique doit pouvoir être destinée également à d’autres publics-cibles potentiels tels que les élus locaux, les techniciens des collectivités, les entreprises ou encore la société civile dans une démarche de sensibilisation, d’appropriation et d’acculturation… Les outils réalisés dans le cadre du projet seront aussi utilisés à des fins scientifiques et culturelles à l’instar d’expositions ou de séminaires/conférences dans différents lieux du territoire transfrontalier, mais également au-delà (Futuroscope de Poitiers, Cité des Sciences à La Villette, etc.).

The territorial actors wish to design an educational tool on the theme of geothermal energy in the form of an "educational kit": a simple, popularised and entertaining presentation of what the geothermal resource is, the main objective being to raise awareness among the young public of geothermal energy, the origin of the resource, its extraction, its use, its assets, its added value in the ecological transition, etc. The expected result is twofold: both to raise awareness of this little-known energy resource among the general public and to explain all aspects of geothermal energy in a summarised, popularised and concise manner. A young public is mainly targeted in the framework of this action because they are the adults of tomorrow! And indirectly, it is a way of reaching their parents and school supervisors. The educational kit should also be aimed at other potential target audiences such as local elected representatives, technicians from local authorities, companies or civil society to raise their awareness, encourage them to sign up to the technique and adopt it... The tools produced as part of the project will also be used for scientific and cultural purposes, such as exhibitions or seminars/conferences in various places in the cross-border territory, but also beyond (Futuroscope in Poitiers, Cité des Sciences in La Vilette, etc.).

Expected Outputs (NL): 1 educatieve koffer voor jongeren, 1 persconferentie, 1 video, 1 folder, 1 sociologisch onderzoek.
