Sziklai és Társai Bt. (Sziklai), from Barcs and Javorović d.o.o. (Javorović) from Virovitica, being located near the Drava river that connects the two sides of the area, in form of cooperation plan to develop and produce a set of furniture that combines the traditions of Croatian and Hungarian furniture manufacturing. The new family would run under the name “Drávamenti Bútorcsalád” or “Podrvaski Namještaj” (Drava Furniture). Raw material of the Drava Furniture would be alder tree which is a typical tree and wood of the Drava river. The tree has a very high demand, as it is more and more widely used. Decorative elements of the family reveal reflect typical motives of the Drava river area. The colour of the wood is warm, yellowish, yellowish red, with characteristic darker gut patches. The furniture would be made as a set of elements, in standard size, but in order to satisfy individual requirements, elements will be produced on demand and for size, by both companies. The furniture family would offer solutions to any area: kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, children's room and living room furniture. The fittings used are the most modern furniture hardware on the market that would combine the latest innovations with classical values in the furniture family. The new furniture family would be a result of cooperation during all stages: from development to sale activities. Main motives of the product will be jointly developed and selected, on basis of ethnographic heritage of the area. Staff working with the Hungarian partner have vast experience in processing of solid wood which will be used for the furniture fronts. Croatian partner would have the task to produce the corpuses of the furniture. Machines needed for the corpuses need more place, which is only possible at the premises of the Croatian partner. Distance between the two companies is only 17 km, which makes communication easy and cooperation intensive.
