Description
Read more Description (EN): The Covid-19 pandemic has represented a critical blow for the tourism: the sector is severely affected by an unprecedented crisis pushing over social and financial structures. The impact is being felt within the entire tourism system, then solely a joined-up approach at transnational level is able to go ahead reopening and rebuilding destinations while enhancing public and private cooperation. Territories seize the opportunities to face the crisis fostering a more resilient and alternative tourism’s economy, meanwhile respecting ecosystems and valorising natural heritage.ConsumeLess Plus strengthens the tourism sector contributing to the Green Deal, minimizing waste production and water and energy use, while boosting joint effort toward a more competitive, innovative and inclusive tourism. ConsumeLess Plus is going to transfer in Cyprus, Croatia, France and Montenegro a ready-to-use model and “light” label, including an innovative communication and territory-based marketing campaign, together with a Mediterranean network of ConsumelessMed destinations. The project supports 4 new regions to become ConsumelessMed destinations setting up the local board, involving SMEs for self-assessing their own pathway toward a more sustainable and innovative business development. The lesson learnt, testing the model already in 5 Med regions, is capitalised to act as a network and think as a community which takes care of local economy, ecosystems, wellbeing of citizens and travellers.
Read more Achievements (EN): The givers, EWA & AI, from the start have supported Receivers to understand the model & activities to be developed, & transfer the good practices in their own territories. In particular during the first 6 months, they organised 2 webinars (28/07/2021, 20/09/2021) involving partners, associated partners and possible members of the Local Committee (LC) invited by receiver partners. The webinars were necessary to make receivers aware about activities relating to the customization of the ConsumeLess tools & products, assessment of action plans, launch of the model at local level, involvement of facilities, communication, marketing strategy & organization of the Atypical communication event, linking sustainability with tourism recovery. EWA & AI supported through periodic online meetings to clarify doubts & identify the best strategy to be put in place for the action plan, and the actions to be implemented for having a larger outreach & thus higher impact (ex: communication campaign & demonstrative measures). Givers reviewed each document, assessed & customised by receivers, including the MoU signed by local members, the Action plans customised by receivers, their members and the translated documents to be published on the website & platform. Receivers worked constantly to identify & potentially involve members of the LC, by meeting & involving them during the local webinars to explain the model & actions to be developed, along with the commitments required from the members. Finally, the members customised & signed the MoU amounting to a total of 31 members, within 4 new territories, a very good result. Receivers customised the model & related documents, to be shared & discussed with the LCs' members, thus assessing the action plans. The 2 related outputs can be considered closed, producing: Output 3.1: Local Committee: closed with 31 entities involved as members of the 4 LCs & Output 3.2: Action plan & annex: closed with 4 assessed Action Plans, model&guideline translated & shared with members. All partners participated in relevant external events to promote Consumeless+ (ex: CCINice during the Food Hôtel Tech), opening a tailored webpage on their institutional channel and started promoting the project by social channels (locally and at project level). Communication products related to the project & the model, were customised with new project logo, new partner logos, & were shared with partners. The Roll-Up & poster were also edited and produced.
