- (EN), Lisbon Observatories (FR), Lisbon Observatories (EN) | The Lisbon Observatories (https://observatorios-lisboa.pt/), developed by LEN, are a visualization instrument for monitoring and reporting / communicating performance, support urban planning and decision making, which is integrated in the scope of the Lisbon city’s sustainability policies, covering strategic environmental dimensions of the city, namely energy, water, wastewater, waste and GHG emissions.
- This type of tool is a clear example of useful instruments that can support decision making and the implementation of public policies towards the efficient use of resources, in cities, regions and wide areas, that can be transferred, improved and disseminated, which covers important aspects of the D4LA Project.
- An important concept associated with this project is displaying information with use of infographics, enhancing the data usefulness and facilitating its comprehension. For more specialized audiences, raw data download is available.
- The Observatories follows the motto “to know so to reduce”.
- Information and knowledge are crucial elements for well-informed citizens feel aware, empowered, and committed with public policy challenges. Only with accessible, comprehensive, and clear data enables the impact monitoring of our behaviour – as individuals and as part of a group – in the quality of life and environment we live and, therefore, continue the path towards the transition.
- Therefore, D4LA project can benefit from the of the monitoring competences and also from the potential of transferability to other territories in order to support the monitoring of public policies and with the creative data to build awareness, engage and empower citizens at local level. (EN), AI4PublicPolicy (Horizon 2020) (FR), AI4PublicPolicy (Horizon 2020) (EN) | AI4PublicPolicy (https://ai4publicpolicy.eu/) is a Horizon 2020 project which intends to unveil the potential of AI – artificial intelligence – in the automation, transparency and development of public policies, citizen-centric, that allow better decisions at financial level, namely regarding the use of public resources in the renovation of buildings and energy use. Lisbon is part of the project as one of the 5 pilots, with the objective of testing public policies for energy efficiency based on relevant data, such as climate, building characteristics and energy consumption. It is also intended to make use of AI algorithms to support the monitoring process of the city’s sustainable energy strategy.
- Also in this project LEN made use of participatory processes, involving stakeholders and citizens, to understand the needs, potential and existing relevant data to explore useful use cases that can contribute towards energy efficiency cities’ goals. The results of these testing policies can be further incorporated within the framework of the public policies, tools an methods that can be transferred within D4LA Project. (FR), SOLIS (FR), SOLIS (EN) | SOLIS (https://www.solis-lisboa.pt/) was developed by Lisboa E-Nova and aims to create and encourage an online community through the sharing of educational content, tools and information with the ultimate objective of promoting the adoption of solar photovoltaic systems in Lisbon, in close alignment with the city’s energy transition and carbon neutrality objectives.
- Motivated by the idea of bringing different sectors of society with different knowledge and expertise, working to this common goal, and facilitating a close connection with citizens and the community, SOLIS is based on a digital platform with different components (website, app, social media elements), using gamification methods and exposing science-based relevant content, directed to a wide public.
- D4LA Project can benefit from the potential of transferability of this experiences to other parts of society and geographical areas, working towards the adoption of low- carbon policies for a wide spectrum of society and the adoption of relevant policies adapted to identified needs throughout this project. - (EN), Urban Transport Community (Interreg Med) (FR) | The project capitalises on specific outputs, namely the four policy briefs developed on active travel, e-mobility, mobility in touristic destinations and climate change : adaptation and mitigation measures for the Mediterranean. It builds on the knowledge consolidated via the INTERREG EURO-MED Academy (i.e., Achieving green living areas, from buildings to cities and territories, among others). Further it explores the best practices included in the Catalogue of Sustainable Urban Mobility Solutions with high replicability potential. These address different areas in mobility, from data for smart traffic management, soft and shared mobility, new planning approaches, etc. The lessons learned on mentoring process carried out between Pioneer and Replication cities (via the corresponding inception reports) will also be explored. - The project allowed management strategies to be built and demonstrate the feasibility of specific solutions regarding organic waste and wastewater. These models were disseminated to be optimised and transferred from certain territories to others, in order to reach a higher degree of environmental quality in the use of resources and, consequently, in protecting the natural heritage of the areas that are part of this initiative. As such, Lisboa E-Nova promoted two demonstrative actions on recycled water and waste, covering the re-use of treated waste water and the topic of organic waste in schools.
