Project end date: 2025-12-31
Project status:
ongoingRelevant linked projects:
- Health Labs4Value (Interreg CE application in the same call) (EN) | DEX (LP) is coordinating an other application for SO 1.1, that is highly synergic with DIGIVITALITY: HealthLabs4Value primarily aims to work „inside” the healthcare system, create living labs within healthcare institutions, and facilitate open innovation collaboration within the organisation (build a new competence at health care institutions that will create preparedness for the close cooperation with med-techs and startups). At the same time, DIGIVITALITY’s focus is on how innovation from outside can be brought in, and how hospitals can effectively engage in collaboration with med-techs and startups to support the development of digital health solutions. The two projects provide a complex capacity building for healthcare institutions in the programme area. The feasibility validation exercises planned in DIGIVITALITY can put living labs developed by HealthLabs4Value into practice. (EN), ‘Start-ups Meet Pharma’ (EIT Health programme) (EN) | The ‘Start-ups Meet Pharma’ programme of EIT Health engages pharma companies across Europe to identify healthcare challenges and establish partnership with start-ups that work on solutions that can address them.
- While the DIGIVITALITY project builds on the ‘Start-ups Meet Pharma’ program methodology to facilitate cooperation between startups and medtech companies, it brings these collaborations to a higher level by involving the clinics/medical universities and the feasibility validations of the digital healthcare solution. (EN), EIT Health DRIVE – Developing Regional InnoVation Ecosystems (EN) | The ‘Drive’ program is a comprehensive 2-year scheme boosting innovation capacity of emerging regions to transform them into internationally competitive innovation ecosystems. The highly data driven training is guided by scientific methods – rigorous and rapid testing of fundamental assumptions and approaches behind innovation ecosystem development. The data and experience collected helps health innovation hubs in building a strategy and action plan for the sustainable growth of the local ecosystem.
- Synergy is clearly detectable between the two programs: two of the innovation hubs (DEX and LUI) of DIGIVITALITY are also participating in EIT Health Drive, thus further contributing to innovation capacity development of their respective regions.
- (EN), EIT Health ‘RIS Innovation Call’ (EN) | EIT Health Innostars’ ‘RIS Innovation Call’ is a unique programme to support the development of local innovative healthcare projects in European regions with less developed innovation ecosystems (EIT RIS regions). Its aim is to bridge the funding gap in EIT RIS regions and to support the proof-of-concept phase of local innovation projects, as well as to help these teams in their EIT Health innovation journey. Projects are supported by funding, mentoring and training services.
- As a direct synergy, the feasibility validation process to be introduced by DIGIVITALITY will potentially bring start-ups from less developed innovation ecosystems from a proof of concept phase to higher maturity levels. (EN), TaSHI - Empowering EU health policies on Task SHIfting (3rd Health Programme of the EU) (EN) | TaSHI focuses on the upskilling of the health workforce, including the task shifting towards digital solutions and automation. There are clear synergies among TaSHI and DIGIVITALITY considering their expected contribution to promote the application of digital solutions by healthcare providers. The project runs from 2021 to 2024, and SOTE, as coordinator of the TaSHI consortium will ensure that learnings are exploited and shared among the 2 projects. (EN), EUnetHTA (3rd Health Programme of the EU) (EN) | EUnetHTA was created as a result of EU Health Programme funded Joint Action (JA3), which aimed to define and implement a sustainable model for the scientific and technical cooperation on Health Technology Assessment (HTA) in Europe and to facilitate the use, quality and efficiency of HTA reports on a European level. The project was launched in 2016 and DIGIVITALITY’s PP, SOTE, participated in it as one of two Hungarian participating institutions. The project resulted in the creation of a permanent HTA working structure for Europe, and was succeeded by EUnetHTA 21 (2021-2023), which will build on the achievements and lessons learned from the EUnetHTA Joint Actions and focus on supporting a future EU HTA system under the HTA Regulation. As a project partner, SOTE has gained substantial expertise in HTA management and built a professional network in the EUnetHTA JA3. SOTE is also a registered stakeholder to the EUnetHTA 21 and has an active cooperation with NIPN, the designated Hungarian member of the new EUnetHTA 21 network in HTA and other health care related projects.
- Knowledge, methodology, models and tools developed and shared by EUnetHTA 21 will be duly considered by DIGIVITALITY when implementing early phase health technology assessment (eHTA) of digital health application. Official HTA bodies from DIGIVITALITY partner countries, being involved in the work of EUnetHTA 21 will be invited into Local Digital Financing Workshops to initiate a policy dialogue for including digital applications into public health insurance schemes.
- For exploiting these synergies and collaborations, SOTE will utilise its knowledge and connections gained as partner of the EUnetHTA JA3 project. In addition, DIGIVITALITY’s research institute PP, SYR, being assigned to carry out eHTA in DIGIVITALITY also has active collaboration with HTA agencies who are members of the EUnetHTA network through being a consortium member of the HTx H2020 project. (EN), HTx - Next Generation Health Technology Assessment (Horizon 2020) (EN) | HTx facilitates the development of methodologies to deliver more customized information on the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of complex and personalised combinations of health technologies. HTx closely collaborates with the European Network for HTA (EUnetHTA) and its stakeholders to pilot the implementation of these methods in Europe. SYR is a consortium member in HTx, leading the Work Package for Transferability & Dissemination, thus being responsible for supporting the transferability of knowledge and methods gained from case studies and analyses to Central and Eastern European countries. This is in clear synergy with SYR’s activities in DIGIVITALITY that foresee the application of early phase HTA tailormade to novel digital applications. SYR’s involvement in HTx contributes to the value proposition of DIGIVITALITY by further utilising the accumulated knowledge and experience gained there. (EN), COVID-X (Horizon 2020) (EN) | The COVID-X project has been designed to bridge the gap between the European digital sector and healthcare providers. The program unlocked the full capacity of Artificial Intelligence and Data Technology solutions to overcome COVID-19 Challenges, fast-tracking projects to market and save lives. It provided technical support, business coaching, ethical validation and data management. One of DIGIVITALITY PPs, CIV has been involved in the project, thus they are able to share a lot of know-how and expert connections between COVID-X and DIGIVITALITY. The DIGIVITALITY project will benefit from the know-how created by COVID-X, particularly related to the ethical validation and data management aspects. (EN), HECoPerMed - Healthcare- and pharma-economics in support of the International Consortium for Personalised Medicine (Horizon 2020) (EN) | HECoPerMed aims to respond to the demand for economic models that evaluate treatments made possible through innovations in personalised medicine. HEcoPerMed also seeks to identify funding and reimbursement mechanisms that provide financial incentives for the rapid development and uptake of such innovations. HEcoPerMed goes beyond current assessment and payment models in order to serve the need of personalised medicine for more comprehensive cost-effectiveness estimates – incorporating patient and societal perspectives – and for sustainable affordability of cutting-edge health innovations. SYR is WP leader of HECoPerMed, being responsible for “Application of health economics modelling best practice for personalised medicine: case studies”. There are clear synergies among the intervention logic of DIGIVITALITY and HECoPerMed, as both work towards reimbursement mechanisms that provide financial incentives for the rapid development and uptake of such innovations. SYR’s involvement in the HECoPerMed project ensures that the accumulated knowledge and experience is well utilised and transferred to DIGIVITALITY. (EN)
