Description (EN):

Modernized monitoring system of Emajõe Waterworks Ltd from previous project will be extended to Vinni and Mustvee Parish in order to obtain the maximum amount of information and management of water treatment plants in Vinni and Mustvee municipalities in Estonia. This will improve accident detection time and with upgrade we can protect joint water assets of this region. These water treatment plants were not included in last project because limited budget. The automation program and improved standardized monitoring system subscribed into new SCADA in two Roela, one Tudu and one Tiheda water treatment plants are directly linked with our previous project. In this project is planned small-scale development activities that will improve EVV SCADA functionality, ease of use and documentation. We are planning to improve scada functionality through user experience. Emajõe Waterwork essential services for local population are ensured also in unexpected situations like power outage or after severe storm. Using two mobile generator Emajõe Waterworks can ensure availability of essential services regardless weather conditions or electrical interruptions. Results of the project will be introduced and shared with Estonian Water Works Association, Kärdla Waterworks Ldt and in Helsinki Regional Enviromental Services HSY. Main activities: - upgrade of the automation program and improve standardized monitoring system subscribed into new SCADA in two Roela, one Tudu and one Tiheda water treatment plants will minimize risk for Emajõe Waterwork essential services in the municipality where approximately 700 inhabitants are connected to the water treatment plants. - small-scale development activities that will improve EVV SCADA functionality, ease of use and documentation. - provide to ensure the continuity of the essential service we need to purchase two mobile generator on trailer with support equipment like mobile fuel tanks and snow plow. Mobile fuel tanks for both generators are needed because generators need constant supply of fuel. Harsh weather conditions with power outages are often related. In winter harsh weather with heavy snow limites access to the water treatment plants and only way is to use snow plow. It is necessary to use road maintenance with a snowplow to move the generator into water treatment plant to give electricity in electrical power outages. Purchasing snow plow will increase Emajõe Waterworks Ltd durability to changes in weather conditions. The modernized monitoring system of Emajõe Waterworks Ltd is one of the most advanced in the region. Already achieved benefits from previous SCADA project of modernized and advanced monitoring system will be introduced other waterworks, goal of that is to transfer project results, knowledge and parctices.

Expected Results (EN): Increased awareness in environmental protection and energy efficiency among inhabitants and institutions in the Programme area

Expected Outputs (EN):

Main result of the project is to improve scada functionality through user experiences and upgrading the monitoring SCADA system in Vinni and Mustvee municipalities. Making it more handy, safer and friendlier to use, improve its reliability by using our knowledge from result of previous project. Minimize risk for Emajõe Waterwork essential services with additional equipment. Results of the project will be shared with other waterworks.
