Er is momenteel nog niet echt sprake van euregionale studie- en beroepsoriëntatie. Er is nog te weinig kennis en bewustzijn bij leerlingen over grensoverschrijdende mogelijheden en kansen in de Euregio Maas-Rijn, maar ook bij leerkrachten en studieadviseurs. Dat leidt ertoe dat bestaande opportuniteiten niet (voldoende) worden benut en veel jongeren verkeerde studiekeuzes maken (mismatch), van opleiding switchen of het onderwijs zelfs vroegtijdig verlaten (uitval). Daarnaast verlaten veel jongeren de (eu)regio voor een studie, opleiding of werk in het economische centrum van het land terwijl er net over de grens vaak voldoende mogelijkheden liggen. Velen van hen keren na een studie elders niet meer terug. Met Connect’ED ontwikkelen de projectpartners vanuit de verschillende partnerregio’s van de EMR een programma voor euregionale studie- en beroepsoriëntatie door (1) 25 scholen uit de euregio bij elkaar te brengen, actief te begeleiden en te koppelen aan 25 bedrijven uit de de partnerregio’s van de EMR – deze worden geselecteerd uit het bedrijvennetwerk van het Meet the Youngsters platform dat middels het project wordt uitgebreid over alle partnerregio’s van de EMR – (2) het bundelen van data en relevante informatie uit de partnerregio’s om leerkrachten en studieadviseurs optimaal te informeren, alsmede (3) het trainen en begeleiden van leerkrachten en studieadviseurs zodat zij leerlingen optimaal kunnen informeren en voorbereiden op de euregionale studie- en arbeidsmarkt. De focus ligt daarbij op jongeren uit het secundair onderwijs in de leeftijd tussen 14 en 18 jaar. Zij staan immers voor belangrijke en bepalende keuzes in hun onderwijsloopbaan. Daarnaast wordt telkens uitgegaan van een euregionaal, grensoverschrijdend perspectief. De studie- en loopbaanoriëntatie moet niet iets theoretisch blijven, maar moet tastbaar worden voor de leerlingen. (4) Leerlingen maken door middel van een mobiele escape room en Virtual Reality tours op een motiverende, innovatieve wijze kennis met een aantal kansrijke, toekomstwijzende sectoren, hetgeen vervolgens verdiept wordt door gezamenlijke (taal)grensoverschrijdende bedrijfsbezoeken, gastlessen en oriëntatiedagen. De sectoren worden bepaald op basis van de wensen en behoeften van de deelnemende scholen en hun leerlingen – deze data kunnen verzameld worden met behulp van de profielen die de leerlingen aanmaken op het digitale Meet the Youngsters platform - alsmede op basis van de in de Euregio Maas-Rijn sterk vertegenwoordigde kansrijke sectoren. De training van de leerkrachten en studieadviseurs draagt bij aan een gedegen voorbereiding en begeleiding voorafgaand, tijdens en na deze ontmoetingsmomenten. Leerlingen kunnen kiezen welke sectoren ze willen ontdekken en geven daarmee zelf sturing aan hun persoonlijke studie- en beroepsoriëntatie, waarbij een euregionale oriëntatie gewaarborgd is. Tijdens dit proces ervaren ze welke competenties (buurtaalkennis, interculturele competenties, STEM, sector-specifieke competenties ...) gevraagd worden en worden door deze activiteiten de vereiste competenties meteen verder ontwikkeld.

Eine echte euregionale Studien- und Berufsorientierung gibt es derzeit nicht. Das Wissen und Bewusstsein über grenzüberschreitende Möglichkeiten und Chancen in der Euregio Maas-Rhein ist bei Schülern, aber auch bei Lehrern und Studienberatern noch zu gering. Dies hat zur Folge, dass die vorhandenen Möglichkeiten nicht (ausreichend) genutzt werden und viele junge Menschen eine falsche Studienwahl treffen (Mismatch), die Ausbildung wechseln oder sogar die Schule vorzeitig verlassen (Abbrecherquote). Darüber hinaus verlassen viele junge Menschen die (Eu)Regio(n), um im wirtschaftlichen Zentrum des Landes zu studieren, eine Ausbildung zu machen oder zu arbeiten, obwohl es auf der anderen Seite der Grenze oft zahlreiche Möglichkeiten gibt. Viele von ihnen kehren nicht zurück, nachdem sie anderswo studiert haben. Mit Connect'ED entwickeln die Projektpartner aus den verschiedenen Partnerregionen der EMR ein Programm zur euregionalen Studien- und Berufsorientierung, indem sie (1) 25 Schulen aus der Euregio zusammenführen, (2) die Zusammenstellung von Daten und relevanten Informationen aus den Partnerregionen zur Information von Lehrern und Beratern und (3) die Schulung und Anleitung von Lehrern und Beratern, damit diese die Schüler optimal für den euregionalen Studien- und Arbeitsmarkt informieren und vorbereiten können. Der Schwerpunkt liegt dabei auf Sekundarschülern im Alter zwischen 14 und 18 Jahren. Denn sie stehen vor wichtigen und entscheidenden Weichenstellungen in ihrer Bildungslaufbahn. Darüber hinaus wird stets eine euregionale, grenzüberschreitende Perspektive eingenommen. Studien- und Berufsorientierung soll nicht etwas Theoretisches bleiben, sondern für die Schüler greifbar werden. (4) Durch einen mobilen Escape-Room und Virtual-Reality-Touren werden die Schüler auf motivierende, innovative Weise an eine Reihe von zukunftsträchtigen Branchen herangeführt, die dann durch gemeinsame (sprach-)grenzüberschreitende Unternehmensbesuche, Gastunterricht und Orientierungstage vertieft werden. Die Sektoren werden auf der Grundlage der Wünsche und Bedürfnisse der teilnehmenden Schulen und ihrer Schüler bestimmt - diese Daten können anhand der von den Schülern auf der digitalen Plattform Meet the Youngsters erstellten Profile gesammelt werden - sowie auf der Grundlage der in der Euregio Maas-Rhein stark vertretenen zukunftsträchtigen Sektoren. Die Ausbildung von Lehrern und Studienberatern trägt zu einer gründlichen Vorbereitung und Betreuung vor, während und nach diesen Begegnungen bei. Die Schülerinnen und Schüler können wählen, welche Bereiche sie erkunden möchten, und so ihre persönliche Studien- und Berufsorientierung selbst bestimmen, wobei eine euregionale Ausrichtung gewährleistet ist. Dabei erfahren sie, welche Kompetenzen (Nachbar)Sprach(en)kenntnisse, interkulturelle Kompetenzen, MINT-Kompetenzen, branchenspezifische Kompetenzen ...) erforderlich sind, und durch diese Aktivitäten werden die geforderten Kompetenzen unmittelbar weiterentwickelt.

Il n'y a actuellement pas de véritable orientation eurégionale des études et des carrières. Les élèves sont encore trop peu informés et sensibilisés aux possibilités et opportunités transfrontalières dans l'Eurégio Meuse-Rhin, mais aussi les enseignants et les conseillers des élèves. Par conséquent, les possibilités existantes ne sont pas (suffisamment) exploitées et de nombreux jeunes font de mauvais choix d'études (inadéquation), changent de filière ou quittent même l'école prématurément (taux d'abandon). En outre, de nombreux jeunes quittent l'(eu)régio(n) pour étudier, se former ou travailler dans le centre économique du pays, alors qu'il existe souvent de nombreuses opportunités de l'autre côté de la frontière. Nombre d'entre eux ne reviennent pas après avoir étudié ailleurs. Avec Connect'ED, les partenaires du projet issus des différentes régions partenaires de l'EMR développent un programme d'étude et d'orientation professionnelle eurégional en (1) rassemblant 25 écoles de l'euregio, (2) en compilant des données et des informations pertinentes provenant des régions partenaires afin d'informer les enseignants et les conseillers et (3) en formant et en guidant les enseignants et les conseillers afin qu'ils puissent informer et préparer les étudiants de manière optimale pour les études et le marché du travail eurégionaux. L'accent est mis ici sur les élèves de l'enseignement secondaire âgés de 14 à 18 ans. En effet, ils sont confrontés à des choix importants et décisifs dans leur parcours éducatif. En outre, une perspective eurégionale et transfrontalière est toujours adoptée. Les études et l'orientation professionnelle ne doivent pas rester théoriques, mais devenir tangibles pour les élèves. (4) Grâce à une escape room mobile et à des visites en réalité virtuelle, les élèves sont initiés à un certain nombre de secteurs prometteurs et tournés vers l'avenir d'une manière motivante et innovante, qui est ensuite approfondie par des visites d'entreprises transfrontalières (linguistiques) conjointes, des leçons données par des invités et des journées d'orientation. Les secteurs sont déterminés sur la base des souhaits et des besoins des écoles participantes et de leurs élèves - ces données peuvent être collectées à l'aide des profils créés par les élèves sur la plateforme numérique Meet the Youngsters - ainsi que sur la base des secteurs prometteurs fortement représentés dans l'Eurégio Meuse-Rhin. La formation des enseignants et des conseillers d'élèves contribue à une préparation et à un accompagnement approfondis avant, pendant et après ces moments de rencontre. Les élèves peuvent choisir les secteurs qu'ils souhaitent explorer et orienter ainsi leurs études personnelles et leur orientation professionnelle, en garantissant une orientation eurégionale. Au cours de ce processus, ils découvrent quelles sont les compétences requises (compétences linguistiques du pays voisin, compétences interculturelles, STEM, compétences sectorielles spécifiques...) et, grâce à ces activités, les compétences requises sont immédiatement développées.

There is currently no real Euregional study and career orientation. There is still too little knowledge and awareness among pupils about cross-border possibilities and opportunities in theEuregio Meuse-Rhine, but also among teachers and student advisors. As a result, existing opportunities are not (sufficiently) utilised and many young people make wrong study choices (mismatch), switch courses or even leave school early (drop-out rate). In addition, many young people leave the (eu)region to study, train or work in the economic centre of the country while there are often plenty of opportunities just across the border. Many of them do not return after studying elsewhere. With Connect'ED, the project partners from the various partner regions of the EMR are developing a programme for euregional study and career orientation by (1) bringing together 25 schools from the euregio, (2) compiling data and relevant information from the partner regions to inform teachers and counsellors and (3) training and guiding teachers and counsellors so that they can inform and prepare students optimally for the Euregional study and labour market. The focus here is on secondary school students aged between 14 and 18. After all, they face important and decisive choices in their educational career. In each case, it is also based on a euregional, cross-border perspective. Study and career orientation should not remain something theoretical, but should become tangible for pupils. (4) Through a mobile escape room and Virtual Reality tours, pupils are introduced to a number of promising, future-oriented sectors in a motivating, innovative way, which is then deepened through joint cross-(language-)border company visits, guest lessons and orientation days. The sectors are determined on the basis of the wishes and needs of the participating schools and their pupils - this data can be collected using the profiles pupils create on the digital Meet the Youngsters platform - as well as on the basis of the promising sectors strongly represented in the Euregio Meuse-Rhine. The training of teachers and student advisers contributes to solid preparation and guidance before, during and after these meeting moments. Pupils can choose which sectors they want to explore and thus direct their own personal study and professional orientation, ensuring a euregional orientation. During this process, they experience which competences (neighbour language skills, intercultural competences, STEM, sector-specific competences ...) are required and, through these activities, the required competences are immediately further developed.

The biggest highlight is a visit to Liège Airport. 5 VR-Videos have been produced (completed) 28 schools in the Euregio have been visited for guest lectures/escape room/VR-goggles activities. We are on schedule with all project activities.

Dit is waar het Connect'ED projectidee om de hoek komt. Euregionale samenwerking maakt het mogelijk om de precieze behoeften en het aanbod van de afzonderlijke regio's te identificeren en hierop in te spelen. De verankering van de KoKo's in de onderwijsbureaus van de 3 Duitse partners zorgt voor een directe samenwerking en koppeling van het werk. Die Kommunalen Koordinierungsstellen (KoKo) sind regional für die Koordination der verschiedenen Projektbausteine zuständig und pflegen ein stabiles Netzwerk mit Schulen und den arbeitsmarktrelevanten Akteuren wie der Agentur für Arbeit und den Kammern. Mit Blick auf den immer größer werdenden Fachkräftemangel ist es essentiell, die Vorteile der geographischen Lage zu nutzen und Schüler_innen aus allen fünf Grenzregionen der EMR überregionale Berufsorientierungsangebote und Ausbildungsmöglichkeiten aufzuzeigen. Hier setzt die Projektidee von Connect’ED an. Durch die euregionale Zusammenarbeit können die genauen Bedarfe und Angebote der einzelnen Regionen erfasst und bedient werden. Dadurch, dass die KoKos in den Bildungsbüros der drei deutschen Partner verankert sind, ist eine direkte Zusammenarbeit und Verknüpfung der Arbeit sichergestellt. (DE), The state programme "KAoA" was introduced over 10 years ago to systematise vocational orientation at schools in NRW. The municipal coordination centres (KoKo) are responsible for the regional coordination of the various project modules and maintain a stable network with schools and stakeholders relevant to the labour market, such as the employment agency and chambers. In view of the ever-increasing shortage of skilled labour, it is essential to take advantage of the geographical location and show pupils from all five border regions of the EMR supra-regional career guidance and training opportunities. This is where the Connect'ED project idea comes in. Euregional cooperation enables the precise needs and offers of the individual regions to be identified and catered for. The fact that the KoKos are anchored in the education offices of the three German partners ensures direct cooperation and linking of the work. (EN)

Other Connect'ED contributes in many ways to the success of other projects and strategies.
In line with the objectives of Interreg and the EGTC Euregio Meuse Rhine, the project is in line with the EU's policy objectives in terms of language learning, mobility and social inclusion, thereby strengthening the overall impact and relevance of European initiatives in the fields of education, training and youth. A particularly clear example of this is the European foreign language policy, according to which every European should learn 2 foreign languages in addition to their mother tongue.

Several project partners support initiatives that have similar ambitions to Connect'ED but cover different geographical areas. Connect'ED enables the connection and exchange of information and best practices.
