- INTERREG IT-HR AdriaClim project (EN), INTERREG IT-HR AdriaClim project (FR) | The analyses conducted on sea level rise scenarios in the Adriatic area by the INTERREG IT-HR AdriaClim project (https://www.italy-croatia.eu/web/adriaclim), are going to be extended in the whole Mediterranean. The AdriaClim dataset, on future sea level rise scenarios, are considered the starting point on which to carry on the survey on the available data this Euro-MED project has to consider. Furthermore, AdriaClim has identified some shortcomings, on available future sea level trends, and limits, in the approach adopted in impacts assessment, that this project is going to face. So this project will improve parts of the results achieved by AdriaClim and integrate them in the larger Mediterranean view. (FR), T-MEDnet initiative and MPA-ADAPT (EN), T-MEDnet initiative and MPA-ADAPT (FR) | This Euro-MED project is going to generate a set of data and benchmarks that support the methodology for and effective use of sea level rise scenarios, in the risk assessment processes that stakeholders require, to define adaptation and resilience solutions to reduce the climate change impacts. To let those data available to the public, instead of creating a new data platform and web service, this project considers the already available T-MEDnet initiative (https://t-mednet.org/) data services the suitable hub into which add data and benchmarks realized as project deliverables. This solution avoids the proliferation of double services, reducing the potential confusion user encounters looking for information and data, clearly contributes to the T-MEDnet mission and allows this Euro-MED project to concentrate more resources on the key points it is aimed to. The strong interaction foreseen between this project and the T-MEDnet initiative, it is a synergy with MPA-ADAPT project (https://mpa-adapt.interreg-med.eu/). (FR), Climate-ADAPT initiative (EN), Climate-ADAPT initiative (FR) | The ClimateADAPT initiative (https://climate-adapt.eea.europa.eu/) aims to support Europe in adapting to climate change helping users to access and share data and information on current and future vulnerability of regions and sectors, adaptation case studies and potential adaptation options together with tools that support adaptation planning. This Euro-MED Study Project is going to produce results that can be added to the ClimateADAPT platform because the project outputs are among the expected contributions to the initiative. In particular, the methodology and the related benchmarks deriving from the project activities, besides the case studies, are going to be submitted to ClimateADAPT as tools and showcases to be added to material available to platform users. So this Euro-MED project is going to benefit from the already available facilities let available through ClimateADAPT to share project results and it contributes to that important European initiative, then it will support the European effort in the adaptation and the resilience to climate change impacts. (FR), ADAPT project (FR), ADAPT project (EN) | The ADAPT project (https://interreg-maritime.eu/web/adapt) has generated information concerning the adaptation to climate change in towns and cities located along the central Mediterranean coast. The results of the ADAPT project are going to be complemented with those coming from this Euro-MED project. In fact, while in the ADAPT project the focus was on the meteorological extreme events that can affect the urban areas, the coastal ones too, this project will add the knowledge, a methodology and the supporting tools to enrich the local adaptation plans with respect the threatens coming from the progressive increase of the sea. Results of this Euro-MED project are going to be shared with and promoted to the ADAPT stakeholders too, thus stimulating the update of the local adaptation plans, that each urban area has defined in the frame of ADAPT. A successful integration of the results coming from both projects could be an example for the extension of the approach across the whole Mediterranean coastal cities and towns.
