Relevant linked projects:
- Horizon 2020 – UPSURGE (EN) | The UPSURGE project is implementing city-centered approach to catalyze nature-based solutions through the EU Regenerative Urban Lighthouse for pollution alleviation and regenerative development. Upsurge project will assist this urban transition by introducing the European Regenerative Urban Lighthouse. This will be used as a best-practice reference framework to enable the implementation of targeted nature-based solutions. In turn, cities will be called on to unlock their regenerative potential by applying the knowledge and guidance in regenerative transition. The project will carry out real-life demonstrations showcasing the viability, feasibility and implementability of proposed technical solutions. Project findings will be disseminated into several exploitable assets. The Lighthouse will help to expedite the overall renaturation of cities. European Regenerative Urban Lighthouse will be offering the Consultancy service available to cities and potential other investors interested in implementing NBS. This service will be established within project duration and will be verified by preparing 2 theoretical implementation cases for non-demonstrating partner cities (Prato and Patras). This will result in sample Implementation Plans and will establish a Protocol of Conduct for the service provided by the Lighthouse. The Lighthouse staff will be comprised of project partners from different relevant scientific fields trying to catalyse the uptake of NBS, the team will operate either virtually, or on specific client’s site or at the Lighthouse HQ established within ICLEI’s HQ, where it will operate also post-project. (EN), Technical assistance to Lombardy regional environmental authority for structural fund, 2002-2007; 2008-2015; 2016-2023, Regione Lombardia. (EN) | During these years Poliedra has been dealing with several sustainable development areas that will benefit URBIO BAUHAUS:
- - drawing up calls for local authorities on sustainability themes;
- - developing environmental criteria to be included in calls covering topics such as transport and energy efficiency;
- - conducting environmental assessment of integrated territorial initiatives and strategies;
- - setting up and managing the environmental monitoring of Programmes;
- - designing and managing of capacity building actions for local authorities.
- (EN), Climate Neutral and Smart Cities Mission (EN) | The cities of Kranj and Wroclaw have been selected to be part of the 112 cities participating in the EU Mission for 100 climate-neutral and smart cities by 2030, also known as the Cities Mission. Also the cities of Pula and Erd have participated in this call. The selected cities are now being invited to develop Climate City Contracts, which will include an overall plan for climate neutrality across all sectors such as energy, buildings, waste management and transport, together with related investment plans. This process will involve citizens, research organisations and the private sector. The clear and visible commitments made by the cities in the Climate City Contracts will enable them to engage with the EU, national and regional authorities – and most importantly with their own citizens to deliver on this ambitious objective. Climate City Contracts will be co-created with local stakeholders and citizens, with the help of a Mission Platform. URBIO BAUHAUS co-creative process actively engaging citizens to participate in forming and proposing urban biodiversity solutions, and the consequent policy measures proposed will provide for a substantial knowledge base to include URBIO BAUHAUS solutions into the objectives and interventions within this Mission. (EN), Horizon 2020 - Naturvation / CitiesWithNature Platform (EN) | The project Naturvation is assessing what NBS can achieve in cities, examining how innovation is taking place, and working with communities and stakeholders to develop the knowledge and tools required to realise the potential of NBS for meeting urban sustainability goals. One of the project’s most important findings with regards to biodiversity lies in its lack of consideration in existing projects. Although a significant number of NBS initiatives specifically address it, the project team demonstrates the emergence of what they call ‘opportunity gaps’, with NBSs not being designed to realise their full potential. The project team is working with CitiesWithNature – an initiative created by ICLEI – and has developed a platform where cities can report their action towards global goals for biodiversity. They are also collaborating with organisations at national and international level to develop the policy and financial conditions within which NBSs can flourish. This will certainly prove to be a comforting perspective for citizens wary of the sustainable future of their city. All EU-funded projects on nature-based solutions, including Naturvation, are developing common products together. These, as all project results, will be accessible on the EU repository for nature-based solutions, oppla.eu, including URBIO BAUHAUS. (EN), Horizon 2020 - ThinkNature / ThinkNature Platform (EN) | The ThinkNature team established four regional think-and-do tanks and respective networks of local representatives that cover the mediterranean, oceanic, temperate continental and northern temperate regions. The aim is to influence policy ideas and decisions concerning NBS and provide new ideas on how to deal with regional problems. URBIO BAUHAUS 4 CE cities with their respective solutions will be proposed to be included in the ThinkNature Platform using the already existing knowledge therein and promoting URBIO BAUHAUS's excellence through the Platform (EN)
