(EN), H2020 TRADEINN (EN) | Traditional or family-led businesses often stay away from possibilities offered by modern technologies due to a belief that they are not suited for them. What they usually have in mind are the impressive, advanced technologies based on IT, IoT, AI, AR or VR, whereas there exist many more choices offering real potential for their specific profiles. To that end, the EU-funded TRADINN project's goal is to build a strategy tailored for traditional business environments. The project's actions will efficiently promote innovations that can empower traditional businesses operating in fields such as agriculture, forestry, gastronomy or legal accounting services and convince entrepreneurs to choose among the many powerful combinations of new technologies and smart solutions for traditional products and services. FENICE Experience gained in Tradinn will be transferred to the present project and applied to the field of precision agriculture and digitalisation of manufacturing SMEs in CE (EN), Erasmus SDG4BIZ (EN) | Knowledge Alliance for Business Opportunities in SDGs (SDG4BIZ) creates, tests and disseminates a curriculum and training material on recognizing and realizing the business opportunities in SDGs. The topic of sustainability will be integrated in the knowledge developed within the project as a basic condition for a long term sustainable development of the sector. Precision farming strictly connect with SDG and with reducing the environmental impact of the sector. (EN), Interreg CE 4STEPS project (EN) | Experience and Industry4.0 training programs implemented during the project will be used in further development of the IT skills necessary to strengthen the work force potential of the precise farming. Advance technology trainings on IoT, Data Management, VR, ER, AR and 3D modelling skills are the basics of future skills and implemented into the farming systems will greatly improve economical position and effectiveness of the sector. Contribution to wider strategies and policies:
- EUStrategyAlpineRegion The project contribute to EUSALP strategy in particular with specific objectives n2 supporting innovation
- -making use of cluster initiatives, stimulating precision farming development and SMEs digitalisation across CE and exploiting already existing hub of knowledge within the Alpine area;
- -bridging different policies and efforts in order to stimulate the transformation of the industrial structure and drive job creation and growth, the project aims to support regional decision makers in defining regional policies in particular Smart Specialisation strategies;
- -moving higher up value chains or adjusting products and services to the green economy, Precision farming can be the opportunity to enhance sustainability of the whole value chain connected withe primary sector. The farming sector at an higher level creating new more specialised job opportunities and improving the working conditions of primary sector. The proposal will act not only to farm level but across the value chain and it is especially focused toward the SMEs which can strongly benefit from a digitalisation of services.
- EUStrategyAdriaticIonianRegion DIGITAL SKILLS 4 PRECISE FARMS will indirectly contribute to the EUSAIR strategy, especially in the third pillar Environmental Quality. The transfer of digital skills to SMEs will result in the development of device and services Safe and Sustainable by Design resulting in more sustainable practices of the primary sector reducing water and soil pollutants.
- EUStrategyDanubeRegion The project responds to several priority areas (PA) in 3 out of 4 pillars of the Danube region strategy.
- In Pillar 2 PA4 Water quality and PA6 Biodiversity, Landscapes and Air & Soil Quality: improving awareness and knowledge will support innovative more sustainable farming practices across CE, preventing and reducing water pollution from point and diffuse sources in the Danube Region as well maintaining and improving of soil quality.
- In Pillar 3 PA3 People and skills, our proposal is aligned and work in synergy with :
- -Action1 maintaining Intensify Cooperation in Labour Market Policies bringing together labour market stakeholders to enhance peer learning/peer counselling counteract skills mismatch, providing vocational re-education and re-training;
- -Action 2: Digitalisation and Innovation in the World of Work reducing the digital divide (by age, gender, region, high and low skilled work) on labour markets;
- -Action 5: Quality and Efficiency of Education and Training Systems: our proposal identify skills demanded from traditional agrifood manufacturing sector promoting the adaptation of educational programs to SMEs needs.
- - Action 6: Relevant and High-Quality Knowledge, Skills and Competences in particular strengthening transversal and key competences, as entrepreneurship, addressing the development of digital competences.
- EuropeanGreenDeal The EU Green Deal aims to make Europe the first continent climate-neutral by 2050. To reach this ambitious goal strong synergies between the different sectors are needed. In this perspective our proposal bring together different actors of the value chain: end users (farmers), innovators (research centres and young talents) , SMEs ( from manufacturing and digital sectors), regional decision makers. This multi-actor approach allow to create sustainable by design products sized on the customer needs stimulating entrepreneurship initiatives to promote more sustainable farming practices. Our action respond to several pillars of the Eu Green Deal:
- -future-proof jobs and skills training for the transition (WP2 talents identification, upskilling and involvement in a working environment);
- -globally competitive and resilient industry, longer lasting products that can be repaired, recycled and re-used, cutting-edge technological innovation(innovation of the state of art of agriculture with new practices, devices and digital services);
- -healthy and affordable food, fresh air, clean water, healthy soil and biodiversity (promote sustainable agricultural practices that have a reduced impact on the environment).
- TerritorialAgenda2030 the present proposal aligns with Territorial Agenda 2030 stimulating a balanced territorial development, through transnational collaboration in Central Europe favouring the development of precision farming and knowledge transfer from agricultural competence hubs to SMEs promoting the digitalisation and innovation of capacities across the whole the value chain. The actions foreseen in the project involve different decision makers levels, but especially those involved in the S3 strategies promoting regional specialisation.
- Other European Skills Agenda
- Pact for Skills - The Pact aims to support public and private organisations with upskilling and reskilling, so they can thrive through the green and digital transitions.
- Pact for skills aims to upskill and reskill the current workforce and make the agri-food ecosystem more attractive to young people, while providing a career and life-long learning perspective to both employers and worker. This Eu initiatives brings together different stakeholders aiming to stimulate the upgrade of digital skills of current workforce in the agrifood sector. The present proposal aligns with pact for skills, stimulating a collaboration between SMEs R&D centers farmers and students to enhance digital competences in agrifood sector.
- Other The Digital Decade policy programme, with concrete targets and objectives for 2030, will guide Europe’s digital transformation in four pillars: Skills, Digital Transformation of businesses, Building Secure and sustainable digital infrastructures and Digitalising of public services. Project activity aligns with the first two pillars upskilling people improving digital competencies and supporting the digitalisation of businesses. This second action target especially SMEs of the agricultural machinery sector that lack behind in digital competences and struggle to keep the pace of digitalisation.
- Other EU Rural Action Plan
- The plan aims to develop a stronger (focus on empowering rural communities), connected (improving connectivity in terms of digital access), resilient (offering access to training courses and diverse quality job opportunities) prosperous (diversifying economic activities and improve the value added of farming and agri-food activities).
- The proposal will work in synergy with EU Rural Action Plan developing new digital competences in the rural population across Central Europe improving quality of life and job opportunities in the agrifood value chain.
