Project Overview: 1. Common Challenge: The programme area faces a significant challenge in transitioning to sustainable green technologies. While there's a growing awareness of the importance of green tech, the region lacks a cohesive strategy, infrastructure, and knowledge-sharing platforms to foster its adoption and innovation. The programme area is grappling with a 30% lag in the adoption of sustainable green technologies compared to global standards. This gap signifies missed economic, environmental, and social opportunities. 2. Overall Objective & Expected Change: The primary objective of "LivingLAB greenStudio 1.0" is to accelerate the adoption of green technologies across the programme area, leading to a more sustainable, eco-friendly, and economically viable region. We aim to bridge the knowledge gap, foster innovation, and facilitate the sharing of best practices. The expected change is a significant increase in green tech initiatives, startups, and sustainable practices adopted by businesses and communities, leading to a measurable reduction in carbon footprint and environmental degradation. We expect change in green tech initiatives a rise of 20%, leading to a 15% reduction in carbon emissions and a 10% increase in green tech-related employment. 3. Main Outputs & Beneficiaries: - Living Lab: A state-of-the-art facility where innovators, entrepreneurs, and researchers can collaborate, test, and develop green tech solutions. A facility aiming to incubate 10+ green tech startups annually. - EcoTech Transfer Platform: A digital platform for knowledge sharing, collaboration, and showcasing green tech innovations. It will be accessible to all partners and the broader community. A digital platform targeting 1,000+ monthly active users, facilitating 10+ collaborations annually. Beneficiaries: - 150+ local businesses transitioning to green tech solutions. - 100+ startups receiving mentorship and resources. - 10 research institutions benefiting from shared data. - 5 local governments adopting sustainable practices based on project findings. 4. Approach & Need for Cross-Border/Transnational/Inter-Regional Approach: Our approach is collaborative and integrative. Recognizing that green tech challenges are not confined to geographical boundaries, a cross-border approach is essential. Different regions bring unique perspectives, solutions, and challenges to the table. Our collaborative approach aims to pool resources from different regions, targeting a 25% increase in shared green tech initiatives. The cross-border strategy will: - Facilitate 10+ annual cross-border collaborations. - Share best practices, reducing redundant efforts by 20%. - Leverage unique regional strengths, boosting overall project efficiency by 15%. This approach ensures that solutions are holistic, adaptable, and consider the diverse needs and strengths of each region. 5. What's New/Original: "LivingLAB greenStudio 1.0" is pioneering in its integrative approach. While there are many green tech initiatives, few have the breadth of collaboration and scope that this project proposes. The combination of a physical Living Lab with a digital EcoTech Transfer Platform is a novel approach, ensuring both tangible and intangible outputs. Furthermore, the project's emphasis on not just developing but also ensuring the adoption and commercial viability of green tech solutions sets it apart. The project, in essence, is not just about innovation but ensuring that innovation leads to real-world impact.

Actual Achievements (EN):

From the very start of the project, partners from BioSense Institute, CFE and FERIT engaged in several online and in-person meetings to establish a strong working relationship, familiarize themselves with each institution’s capacities, and align their approaches. We had two project in person team meetings and one in person Kick off meeting in Osijek. Meetings were on 17.07.2024. in Novi Sad, then we had a kick off meeting in Osijek on 20.09.2024. and 25.11.2024. project team meeting in Novi Sad. In addition, to ensure smooth project coordination, regular online meetings were held, addressing specific topics related to project management, procurement planning, and strategic development. Each partner independently handled procurement activities while collaborating on brainstorming sessions to ensure consistency in acquiring necessary resources. In the first six months, significant progress was made in developing the EcoTech Transfer Portal and the Living Lab. The key features of both the online and physical Living Lab were defined, covering platform functionalities and infrastructure requirements. Alongside this, a cohesive visual identity was created, including a project logo, color scheme, and standardized document templates to ensure consistent branding. Efforts were also directed towards establishing effective communication networks. Internally, an online repository and shared collaborative tools were set up to facilitate efficient coordination among partners. Externally, the project’s outreach strategy was initiated, leveraging LinkedIn and Facebook to engage stakeholders and promote awareness. A structured promotional plan was devised, detailing the design, content, and types of materials to be used for public outreach. Knowledge exchange played a crucial role in advancing the project’s objectives. Three capacity-building workshops were organized in Osijek and Novi Sad, strengthening collaboration between researchers, innovators, and industry representatives in the field of technology transfer. Simultaneously, user interviews and market research were conducted to refine the technical specifications for the EcoTech Transfer Portal. These efforts culminated in the finalization of a comprehensive technical document, laying the foundation for the portal’s development and its role in bridging the gap between academia and industry.
