- CROWDSTREAM (Interreg DANUBE) (EN) | CROWDSTREAM developed digital training material for public actors supporting start-ups and social enterprises approaching crowdfunding. The material is available to wider public onlin using moodle. Training material will be used for development of crowdfunding campaigns within the activity A2.4. (EN), Green heart of Europe project Maramures (WWF Belgium) (EN) | The pilot site was the model area of Strambu Baiut in Maramures County and major activities included: i) testing the potential for ecotourism based on wildlife watching, e.g. rehabilitation of wildlife observatory, development and marketing of ecotourism packages, ii) encouraging and supporting local entrepreneurs to develop green businesses - qualifications for local guides, development of interpretation manual for ecotourism.
- The project will built upon the experiences regarding development of ecosystem based tourism products. (EN), Voluntary payment for Ecosystem services (WWF Sweden) (EN) | - Starting with 2021 WWF RO is implementing a pilot project in Maramures on establishing a voluntary Payment for Ecosystem Services/PES scheme (Strambu Baiut area, in the proximity of the Eco Maramures Destination). The pilot project, financed by WWF Sweden, is setting up a functional, local, transparent governance mechanism to ensure proper management of habitats and species and bring benefits to local communities and at the same time co-develop and test business models for conservation/maintenance of valuable forest ecosystem habitats and related services.
- The project will benefot from the experiences especially with regard to the crowdfunding topic and financement of further offers and initiatives. (EN), WWF Project “Support Responsible Forest Management for Sustainable Development in the CEE Region” (2020-2023) (EN) | In this project has already been taken the first step to promote the „forest-dependent community” concept in the National Forest Strategy 2030 (SNP30). As a result SNP30 acknowledges the existence of forest-dependent local communities in Romania and proposes to regulate their access to forest resources. However, it only sets the general strategic directions and the concept needs to be further developed, aiming to include specific criteria for identification and establish the proper governance framework to enable these communities to have access to forest resources on which they are dependent.
- This will be realised by activities in the project 'Danube Wood(s)'. (EN), Inter-municipal cooperation regional value chain phase 1 and 2 (2013 - 2014 - USAID`s Sustainable Local Development) (EN) | The first phase of the project focused on identifying the existing production and demand for local products, its presence in HoReCa segment and obstacles to greater sales, as well as finding the solutions to better integration of local products into the tourism product in Zlatibor region, in terms of sales and marketing. In the second phase results were capitalized through establishment and promotion of guarantee mark “Mountain breakfast” , that was intriduced in hotels and rural households.
- This concept can be included in new cultural route for wider promotion and capitalisation at international level, since it could be added value in Danube woods route. (EN), THEMATIC Tourism founded in innovation capacities (2020 - 2023 - INTERREG V-B Adriatic-Ionian ADRION Programme 2014-2020). (EN) | Main project objectives: valorization of cultural and natural resources, capacity building for development of sustainable and accessible thematic and cultural tourism, through pilot actions and joint promotional initiatives by applying innovations, transnational networking and cooperation. Established network of stakeholders in the system of cultural and naturalistic tourism for creation of innovation and joint action transferable at macro regional level, developed joint strategy and action plan for the development sustainable and accessible cultural tourism.
- Data, methodology, stakeholders can be used for further involvement and capitalization in the establishment of new cultural route. (EN), Via Dinarica - Green Trail Above Borders (2023 - 2025 - IPA II Cross-Border Cooperation Program Serbia - Bosnia and Herzegovina 2014 - 2020). (EN) | The project aims to contribute to the socio-economic development of the cross-border region through creation and improvement of the tourist product Via Dinarica: Green route of Via Dinarica Trail. It implies maintenance of existing and marking of new hiking and walking trails along with mapping of unique and natural, cultural sites, including tourism service providers located near the route.
- The tourist product 'Via Dinarica' passes through mountain areas (pastures, forests, meadows) and can be incorporated in wider cultural route and become visible and accessable to the wider market in Danube region by the project Danube wood(s). (EN), Forest and mountain protected areas (The World Bank-GEF) 2008-2012 (EN) | The project aimed at biodiversity conservation and strengthening capacities for sustainable development of protected areas through:
- -protected areas management plans creation, operations and facilities development
- -new infrastructure, limited small-scale building rehabilitation, trail improvements, new trail creation
- - strengthening the institutions responsible for planning, establishment and management of protected areas
- -building competencies in key areas including eco-system based management focusing an integration of ecological, economic and social aspects and sustainability and field-level skills in areas such as patrolling, community engagement, visitor management and interpretation
- -public awareness programmes in order to raise public awareness on biodiversity conservation and protected areas.
- Experience, knowledge and information gained through this project will be of great use for implementation of project activities. Also, contacts made during the project can be useful for the project activities.
- (EN), "Nature for recovery"( EU4Business Recovery) -2022-2023 (EN) | The project focused on the restoration of the location and the development of the tourist offer in the wider area of the nature protected Skakavac waterfall by introducing new tourist packages, popularizing Skakavac and establishing functional outdoor tourism. Realization of the project will create better conditions for further organized development and better use of the total tourist potential .
- Danube wood(s) will capitalize the knowledge gained through the development of a new tourist offer, the creation of a visitor management plan for the Skakavac location, the organization of training for capacity building, the promotion of the new green offer and location. (EN), CONNECTING Nature project (HORIZON 2020)-2017-2022 (EN) | The goal of the project was to position Europe as a global leader in innovation and application of solutions based on natural solutions. will capitalise the knowledge.
- Danube wood(s) will capitalise knowledge from capacities building in terms of how to become healthier, ecological cities, with better living conditions for all, greater green infrastructure and biodiversity, improved air and water quality, improved mobility conditions, opportunities for urban agriculture and increasing social cohesion. (EN), AGARE project (Europe for Citizens) 2021-2022 (EN) | With aim is to create a space of cooperation for the social sustainability of European rural territories, in order to improve the conditions for the participation of citizens in rural areas, promoting actions of social commitment that encourage socio-economic development in small municipalities of the European Union and the fight against aging and depopulation, and solutions and the possibilities offered by association and cooperation, as a way of sustainable rural development in the EU.
- The acquired knowledge will be used in Danube wood(s) about how sustainable and well-supported rural programs can positively solve social and economic issues, and what are the employment opportunities in those areas and how to ensure sustainable rural development. (EN), Rural Tourism for Mountain Destinations, EU – IPA CBC BiH - MNE (2020 - 2022) (EN) | Danube wood(s) will capitalize the experiences of developing tourism in rural areas. (EN), Transhumance – New Tourism Offer of Kosovo and Montenegro, EU – IPA CBC MNE-KS (2020 - 2022) (EN) | Danube wood(s) will captalize the experiences of developing new tourism offers and benefit from contacts established. (EN), CRinMA – Cultural resources in the mountain areas - Interreg Europe, (2017 – 2021) (EN) | The aim of CRinMA was to improve the regional policies in order to provide better support for the mountain areas with intangible and tangible cultural resources.

(EN), DTP1-1-311-2.2 NETWORLD - Networking in preserving the First World War multicultural heritage in the Danube countries, supported by the Danube Transnational Programme (EN) | NETWORLD project contributed towards the DTP programme objectives SO 2.2 strengthening the joint and integrated approaches in preserving and managing the World War 1 cultural heritage and resources in the Danube region as a basis for sustainable development and growth, increasing mobility, sustainability, common remembering, and cultural tourism.
