Relevant linked projects:
- KIMoNo, AI-based cross-type optimisation of mobility in non-urban regions - BMVI (DE) 2020-2022 (EN) | The project conducts interdisciplinary research from science and business in order to shape the future of mobility in rural areas.
- Synergies that will be exploited by Uni Passau as partner in both projects concern both the analysis of the expected contributions of Artificial Intelligence to mobility in rural areas, and the methodological approach for the analysis of social acceptance and user-friendliness factors. (EN), DREAM_PACE - Demand REsponsive trAnsport integrating regional Mobility networks for PAssengers in Central Europe (Interreg Central Europe 2021-2027) (EN) | DREAM_PACE is a 36 months project awarded in the first call of Interreg CE 2021-2027, started in march 2023. The project will deliver demand-responsive transport (DRT) concepts for regional mobility networks. Synergies are both methodological (stakeholder engagement, co-design approach), and thematic concerning digital DRT applications. The projects have common partners (Redmint, AustriaTech in DEGREE4ALPS as observer) and interested parties (Autoguidovie is Dolomitibus main shareholder). (EN), SHAREPLACE - Shared mobility and Regional transport integrated PLAnning for a better connected Central Europe (Interreg Central Europe 2014-2020) (EN) | In SHAREPLACE (Redmint and the observer AustriaTech among partners), an integrated approach to deliver flexible mobility options in CE regions has been implemented through living labs, co-design and participation, including one pilot on carpooling, two on DRT services in Italy and Hungary, and an open source mobility planner, developed in Ulm (DE), tested and taken up by other municipalities. Synergies are both methodological and thematic. (EN), LinkingAlps (Interreg Alpine Space 2014-2020) (EN) | The project, with Uni Maribor as partner, developed a Alpine-wide standardised exchange service of travel information. Synergies concern in particular the guidelines for ensuring standardised data exchange based on OJP (Open Journey Planner) standard, that will be taken into account in order to effectively drive the digital integration process. (EN), EfficienCE Energy Efficiency for Public Transport Infrastructure in Central Europe (Interreg Central Europe 2014-2020) (EN) | EfficienCE tackled the topic of energy efficiency in public transport infrastructure. Different solutions for integrating renewable energy sources in PT have been investigated and tested. DEGREE4ALPS will exploit synergies in relation to the transnational handbooks on energy efficiency for depots, multipurpose use of infrastructure (Maribor, Uni Maribor), and energy storage in PT (Redmint) delivered by the project. (EN), CO2 NeuTrAlp (Interreg Alpine Space 2008-2012) (EN) | The key emphasis of the project was on technologies, innovation networks, renewable energy, and urban-rural partnerships. Pilot activities in Belluno (Dolomitibus) and in the area of the Heart of Slovenia (Šmartno pri Litiji) dealt with zero emissions mobility and local public services; the DEGREE4ALPS pilot tests in these two areas will follow up on the esperience of the previous project. (EN), National Strategy for Inner Areas (NSIA), Veneto (IT) (EN) | European Structural and Investment Funds are combined with national finance to support strategies for local development and service innovation in 72 pilot areas. In Province of Belluno, interventions synergistics with DEGREE4ALPS are related to strenghthening of local public transport (also touristic), and development of flexible transport services. DEGREE4ALPS will explore synergies with the planned interventions, and promote new ones within the future steps of implementation of the strategy. (EN), Winter Olympics 2026 - Milano-Cortina (IT) (EN) | The province of Belluno will be one of the main territories to host the next 2026 Winter Olympics, and Dolomitibus will be the key actor in the planning and implementation. Measures under planning are expected to foster durable development on the territories also after the event, and synergies be created in order to support the digitalisation of mobility in the area supporting social inclusion. (EN), Mission “Climate Neutral Cities”, Austria (EN) | Initiative of the Austrian Federal Ministry on Climate Actions with the goal to make the nine largest Austrian Cities climate neutral by 2040. Graz, member of the Klima Bündis Styria, is one of the engaged cities. Synergies for DEGREE4ALPS will be in the stakeholder process and cross-sectoral approaches applied here. (EN), MENTOR - Mobilize Efforts For A Harmonized Diffusion Of New Smart And Shared Mobility Technologies In The Overall Program Regions. (INTERREG Italy-Switzerland 2014-2020) (EN) | The project implemented a “Mobility-as-a-Service” approach in two small Alpine towns. It provided recommendations to other decision-makers and started to digitally integrate different mobility services. DEGREE4ALPS will take over the outputs and recommendations, and include them in the co-design process for services in Alpine rural areas (in particularly in Switzerland). (EN), MixMyRide - Swiss Federal Office for Energy (EN) | MixMyRide is developed within a Swiss research project, result of collaborative effort by research institutions, mobility providers and advisors, cities and public institutions. It develops and real-life tests a MaaS platform, which has public transport as its backbone and integrates carpooling and active mobility. Synergies with the project promoted by partner BePooler will focus on the integration between MaaS and pooling services. (EN), Sopotnik project (2019 – in progress) (EN) | The purpose of the project is to help the elderly to integrate into an active social life and above all to provide daily mobility services. Beneficiaries of transport are elderly residents of both municipalities who are retired and over 60 years old. Rides are carried out by volunteers. DEGREE4ALPS activities in Šmartno pri Litiji will rely on the already built network of stakeholders and the existing service will be upgraded to broader time-scale and further stakeholder groups. Contribution to wider strategies and policies:
- EUStrategyAlpineRegion DEGREE4ALPS contributes to EUSALP AG4 Mobility Priority 4 "Smart and sustainable passenger transport (local, regional and cross-border mobility)", by improving public transport and smart mobility services in the Alpine Region with a special focus on on-demand, shared and pooling solutions, making use of digital innovation and adapting to changing lifestyles. Activities will also contribute "to make the territory a model region for energy efficiency and renewable energy" (AG9 energy).
- EuropeanGreenDeal The EU Green Deal policies aim at accelerating the shift to sustainable smart mobility by "putting users first and providing them with more affordable, accessible, healthier and cleaner alternatives". Moreover, the "smart integration of renewables, energy efficiency and other sustainable solutions across sectors will help to achieve decarbonisation at the lowest possible cost". DEGREE4ALPS focuses on centrality of citizens, accessibility for everyone, supporting the energy transition.
- TerritorialAgenda2030 The Territorial Agenda 2030 mentions, in its territoral priorities for Europe, the need for a sustainable digital and physical connectivity of places. The agenda invites mobility (and spatial) planners to "explore new socially and environmentally progressive models for local and regional mobility-as-a-service and to cooperate on multimodal and environmentally friendly accessibility". DEGREE4ALPS develops socially inclusive, green and integrated mobility solutions, in line with this approach.
- Other DEGREE4ALPS will contribute to EUSDR Priority Area 1b Rail-Road-Air Mobility, target VI - Support safe and sustainable transport and mobility in the Danube Region, and Priority Area 2 Sustainable Energy, action 3 - To promote decarbonisation and reduction of air pollutants in the transport sector. The project, with 6 partners in the area, will demonstrate the benefits activated by digitalisation also through the pilot activities in Styria (AT), Maribor and Šmartno pri Litiji (SI).
