Relevant linked projects:
- ArTVision+ project
- INTERREG VA Italy Croatia 2014-2020 (EN) | ArTVision+ (IT-HR 2014-2020), capitalizing the IPA Adriatic arTVision project, is aimed at developing new solutions for the development of the less-known tourist destinations, based on the valorization of the cultural heritage and on a new concept of promotion. The main activities will focus on a promotion campaign and setting up of a digital platform as virtual space to connect artists and organizers of tourist manifestations (tourist boards, museums, theatres, art cinemas). Artivition+ project had close goals and activities with the SOCRAT project and can be used as base for the upgrade of activities. By studying the outcomes and results of the ArTVision+ project, connecting with its network of contacts, and using its digital platform, the SOCRAT project can build on the successes and achievements of the ArTVision+ project to create a more sustainable and innovative tourism products and services. The project was also funded by the previous Interreg Italy-Croatia programme and a result of a good cooperation some few partners from the Italian and Croatian side decided to work again together on the SOCRAT project. (EN), Arca Adriatica project (EN) | The main aim of the project Arca Adriatica was the development of a common tourism product, based on the principles of social and ecological sustainability which, at the same time, valorises, preserves, protects and promotes the rich maritime heritage. One of the activities was the foundation of the Academy of Maritime Crafts and Skills that was established to permanently educate the children, the youth and all the interested people on part of the intangible heritage which has already partially dissapeared from our modern lifestyle. The project had activities that were related to traditional maritime crafts and it’s results and experiences can be implemented in the Socrat project. Thus, the SOCRAT project can build on the foundation of the Academy of Maritime Crafts and Skills to create its own capacity building workshops that promote and preserve local intangible heritage. By educating the tourism operators on the importance of authenticity of local culture and heritage, the SOCRAT project can promote social and cultural cohesion. (EN), MADE IN-LAND project
- INTERREG VA Italy Croatia 2014-2020
- (EN) | MADE IN-LAND - MAnagement and DEvelopment of INLANDs (Interreg IT-HR 2014-2020). The purpose of the project is to increase the protection and valorization of unused natural and cultural assets and the establishment of cross-border cooperation that will open up the potential of coastal assets through joint innovative ways of integrated management, marketing and promotion. The main results of the project are the improvement of the economic and territorial development of the coast. The project has developed a useful strategy of mutual cooperation between the coastal area and the hinterland in order to reduce the pressure on the coastal area and develop the potential of the interior. The project provided solutions focused on ecological, cultural, functional and productive interdependencies between coastal areas and coastal areas. The SOCRAT project can benefit from the knowledge and experiences gained by the MADE IN-LAND project by collaborating and sharing best practices. The two projects can also exchange information about their respective activities, which can help to identify potential areas of synergy and cooperation. Beside this, SOCRAT project can adopt similar strategies to promote the importance of local culture and heritage in the tourism industry. By promoting the value of unused natural and cultural assets, the SOCRAT project can create a sustainable tourism products and services that are both authentic and attractive to tourists. (EN), EXCOVER project
- INTERREG VA Italy Croatia 2014-2020
- (EN) | The main goal of this project was to increase the number of tourists in accordance with the cultural and natural potential of the area and to reduce the tourist seasonality of both countries. The project contributed to a more even distribution of tourists and relieved areas of excessive concentration of tourists located mainly on the coast. The results of the project are the establishment of an efficient tourism system that will direct the local population to the use of their own resources and skills and the branding of new destinations. The SOCRAT project can potentially make synergies in several ways. The branding and promotion strategies developed by EXCOVER to promote new destinations could be useful for SOCRAT in promoting the special interest tourism based on contemporary arts. The tourism system established by EXCOVER could be used as a model for SOCRAT in promoting sustainable tourism in the territories covered by the project. The efforts made by EXCOVER to reduce tourist seasonality could also be useful for SOCRAT in promoting year-round tourism based on contemporary arts and local industry. This could help in reducing the excessive concentration of tourists in coastal areas and promoting more even distribution of tourists in the region. (EN), SMATH project (Interreg MED) (EN) | SMATH generates innovative clusters ideally “Smart Atmospheres” where cultural engines (the cultural core of heritage, values, traditions and cultural processes) and the value enhancing services (incubators, financial services, territorial services and public policies) interact together for the enhancement of business oriented and product oriented creative industries. The conjunction between cultural and creative sectors is much more announced then actually proclaimed. Culture and creativity are in need of improved connections in order to exploit their synergies and fully achieve their economic potential. Improved connection can be obtained via innovative forms of clustering that can be boosted by three basic factors contributing to the development of smart and sustainable growth in the MED area.SMATH and SOCRAT share a common goal of promoting economic development and sustainability in the Mediterranean region by utilizing cultural heritage, promoting social innovation, and supporting creative businesses. Both projects recognize the importance of cultural heritage in promoting economic development and tourism in the Mediterranean region. While SMATH focuses on the cultural core of heritage, values, traditions, and cultural processes, SOCRAT aims to develop sustainable tourism activities that highlight the region's cultural heritage. Finally, both projects aim to develop transferable methodologies and toolsets that can be used to replicate successful models and practices in other regions. By sharing best practices and benchmarking with success stories, both projects aim to promote the widespread adoption of innovative approaches to economic development in the Mediterranean region.
