Project end date: 2027-08-31
Project status: ongoing
Relevant linked projects:
- Horizon 2020 “BC for creating decentralized smart grid system- BC4GRID project" (EN) | Synergies may arise regarding the use of digital technologies for the marine environment. (EN), FishMid - OP Fisheries and Maritime 14-20/EMFF (EN) | The common object of the projects lies in the identification of certain fish species on the market (in terms of conservation and production); the 'FISH MID' project does not analyse the conservation of mussels and posidonia, species that could instead find positive feedback from the synergy with the TEAMFORADRIS project. (EN), Thales (Marine angiosperm tolerance on environmental stress: physiological-cellular-biochemical-molecular mechanisms related to species and habitat diversity) (EN) | Synergies involve the dentification of the causes that have been identified by the Thales project (e.g. high salinity, high temperature, and other significant stressors in the context of climate change) that have influenced the marine balance of a plant species and that appear to be the same causes that influence the growth of Posidonia. (EN), KHESTO - Know-How Enhancement for Sustainable transportation organisation (Programme 2007 - 2013 Adriatic IPA CBC) (EN) | The synergy with this project derives:
- - using the experience gained to identify the most suitable areas to identify factors that may contribute to the risk of mussel mortality and develop appropriate preventive measures;
- - from the consideration of the use of public lines and the promotion of more sustainable maritime traffic to reduce pollution in the Adriatic region. (EN), Education for the promotion of ideas, inventions and innovation, in function of the development of entrepreneurship - Interreg Balkan-Mediterranean (BalkanMed) program (EN) | By reviewing past projects under this program, we can draw inspiration and identify successful practices related to maritime safety, natural hazard prevention and biodiversity conservation in the region. Adriatic. The experience and lessons learned from these projects can be applied to strategies to prevent mussel die-offs and preserve the marine environment. (EN)

Contribution to wider strategies and policies:
- EuropeanGreenDeal TEAMFORADRIS is in line with the European Green Deal, by implementing its strategic guidelines for a more sustainable and competitive EU aquaculture. The project aims at promoting a sustainable transition toward a fair and green economy and investing in new solution through environmentally-friendly technologies, and with UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 12 and 14).
- EUStrategyAdriaticIonianRegion TEAMFORADRIS aims at creating synergies between several territories of the Adriatic-Ionian Region, contributing in 2 thematic pillars of the EU Strategy for the Adriatic and Ionian Region:Blue growth and Environmental quality.
- Other The project is also closely related to the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030, which aims to protect nature and reverse the degradation of ecosystems; these objective represent the sames of the project which aims to mitigate the impacts of climate change or human actions to reduce Mussels’ mortality and to restore flora and fauna.
- Other The project is also closely related to the Blue growth strategy, a strategy aimed at supporting the sustainable growth of the marine and maritime sectors and achieving the goals of the Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive development.
- Other The project will also contribute to the United Nations 2030 Agenda; among its many objectives are those concerning urgent ecological measures to combat climate change, to protect the oceans, seas and marine resources and to manage forests by combating desertification.
- Other European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) supports the EU common fisheries policy (CFP), the EU maritime policy and the EU agenda for international ocean governance, with the aim of protecting marine biodiversity and ecosystems.
