Description (EN):

Logistics systems and services are still limited in ADRION area, curbing the potential exchange of goods among the inside regions of this macro-region. Missing links in last mile connections between ports, intermodal terminals, and logistics centers also affect the overall capacity of the local logistic chains. On the other hand, clusters’ landscape in ADRION area is still embryonic, as research centers, public authorities and private companies do not fully capitalize on the advantages of cooperation. The current project aspires to face the above-mentioned joint challenges and change the current situation aiming to enhance the Sustainability, Innovation & Internationalisation of Logistic Sector in ADRION Area, by designing and pilot testing really new solutions, such as the establishment and operation of a Smart & Sustainable Macro-regional Cluster in this sector according to 4helix model. More specific, the project’s partnership aims to build and up-scale on the results from similar previous projects in order to jointly produce the following main expected outcomes: a) a Strategy for the development and modernization of the Logistic Sector in the ADRION area, b) an “Adrion macro-regional cluster in the logistic sector”, c) an e-networking & business support platform, and d) smart digital & environmental - friendly logistic applications and services. Finally, the main beneficiaries from the use of the above outcomes will be the Local/Regional/Authorities, Sectoral Agencies, Higher Education & Research Institutes, Logistics SMEs, and Business support organizations.

Actual Achievements (EN):

Regarding activity_1.1, the detailed Plan was prepared (P2), presented and finalised during the project’s kick-off meeting. Afterwards, 1.1_Data Collection Template" (PP2) was sent to involved partners. PP2, PP6, PP7, and PP11 filled the relevant above document with information on logistic sector in their countries/region: Greece, Slovenia, Bosnia Herzegovina and Serbia. P2 collected all above information, conducted literature review to gather information regarding the logistics sector in Europe and Adrion region (included Italy and Albania) and authored the Deliverable D.1.1.1. The D1.1.1. Identification of challenges, legal and administrative obstacles in logistics sector in Adrion Area” was finilised after the review by PPs. Regarding activity 1.2 a Detailed Plan was prepared (LP), presented and finalised during the project’s kick-off meeting. Afterwards, a Data Collection Template for Activity 1.2 was sent to involved partners. All involved partners (PP4, PP5, PP8, PP9, PP11) filled the relevant Data collection providing an overview of good practices examples for developing smart and sustainable clusters in the logistics sector in the participating countries: Greece, Slovenia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Serbia, Italia and Albania. A Transnational Workshop was organised by P11, held online on February 10th, 2025. Stakeholders from the logistic sector were informed about the project and participated in the discussion regarding the main problems and weaknesses of previous clustering initiatives and the key factors for success and failure of clusters. Also, they proposed scheme of the Smart & Sustainable Macro-regional Cluster in ADRION area and possible collaboration domains for clustering. The workshop was attended by partners and stakeholders, 22 participants in total. The D1.2.1 “Identification of smart and sustainable clustering models in the logistics sector” was finilised (LP) using the findings of the relevant Data collection, the conclusions of the workshop and the review by PPs. Regarding activity 1.5.daily coordination and monitoring of the correct and timely implementation of all project actions was implemented by LP who also, detailly designed and planned the activities of the overall Project. Also, LP participated in all seminars and promptly send information needed to Joint Secretariat. In the IPA ADRION 1st call projects Implementation Seminar 22 October 2024 in Bled PP5 participated in physical presence and Project Manager (LP) participated on line. Finally, project manager participated in person in the seminar in Athens on 21 January 2025. The Quality Assurance - Risk Management Plan was developed (LP) of the Project and it is a common standard for the entire project lifecycle. Partners appointed the members of the Project steering committee that was established in the KoM. LP organised the Kick-off Meeting of the project that took place in physical presence and online mode on 26 and 27 September 2024 in Preveza. The meeting was attended by representatives of ten out of the eleven project partners, the Greek associated organization ETANAM and the Project Officer of the Joint Secretariat of the Interreg ADRION Program. During KoM a Comprehensive Work Plan was explained to PPs and the WP1 was presented in detail. After the meeting a study visit was organised in a logistic company. The D.1.5.1 that describes all project management activities implemented in the framework of WP1 during period 1 was developed. As far as Communication the Communication Plan of the project was developed (LP). Guidance and support were given to PPs. Special mention taken regarding Internal communication as a google drive was created and the internal mailing list. All partners highlighted the project in their official website. A project poster in the minimum size A3 was is displayed at their premises. Partners produced press releases that were published in their website. The e-leaflet (4-paged) was designed and produced by LP to promote the main aims and activities of the project. P11 produced sets of printed materials (envelope, notepad and pencil). Also pages in Facebook, Likedin and in Youtube were developed by LP The D.1.6.1 regarding 1st project period communication activities in the framework of WP1, was produced.

Contribution to wider strategies and policies:

EUStrategyAdriaticIonianRegion The project contributes EUSAIR Strategy and specifically to EUSAIR FLAGSHIP 2021-2027: THE ADRIATIC-IONIAN MULTI-MODAL CORRIDORS by reducing infrastructural, technological and legislative gaps in the logistics sector in order to facilitate cross-border freight flows and logistics operations, and strengthen interconnections between the logistics nodes of the Region. Moreover the project contributes to another EUSAIR FLAGSHIP: FOSTERING QUADRUPLE HELIX TIES IN THE FIELDS OF MARINE TECHNOLOGIES AND BLUE BIO-TECHNOLOGIES FOR ADVANCING INNOVATION, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND BUSINESS ADAPTATION IN BLUE BIO-ECONOMY by establishing a macro-regional cluster according to 4 helix model, at inter-sectoral level, focusing on the emerging sectors of the area, such as blue economy industries.
EuropeanGreenDeal The overarching aim of the EU Green Deal is for the European Union to become the world's first “climate-neutral bloc” by 2050. Its’ goals extending to many different sectors involved in the supply chain, such as logistics sector. Therefore, logistics businesses should integrate their activities with greening interventions. The proposed project contributes to the greening of logistics processions by introducing eco-friendly applications and services, and utilising environmental evaluation tools such as the Product Environmental Footprint (PEF) methodologies.
