The program focuses on business model innovation, leaders' cognitions, management practices supporting innovation and leadership fostering innovationculture. 24 SMEs can participate in the program in two cohorts.

AIRE brings together knowledge about IT, engineering, robotics and electronics, to create a platform for businesses to develop digitalization and automation. We give companies the chance to use Ministry of scientific and research laboratories and support big data management within High Performance Computing centres. AIRE informs businesses about new and unique solutions that cannot be found on the market, with testing for new technology and software, methods for data analysis, cloud-based solutions, preventative maintenance, or development of digital twins. (EN), NOCCA (2019-2021)– Novel opportunities for new company creation and accelerated growth (EN) | NOCCA – Novel Opportunities for new Company Creation and Accelerated growth – was jointly developed and implemented in Helsinki, Tallinn and Riga comprising of three consecutive multidisciplinary and intergenerational hackathons and training camps that mixed students from the participating countries and organizations with the purpose of creating new cross-border companies and further engaging the innovation ecosystem further. Within the project they reached the goal of creating 6 cross border companies and engaging 40 established startups.

- (EN), UNIcorn - “Fostering Knowledge Transfer from Universities to Business – Innovation to Unicorn”; https://taltech. ee/en/unicorn (02.07.2021-31.07.2023, EIT, HEI Initiative) (EN) | The project “Fostering Knowledge Transfer from Universities to Business – Innovation to Unicorn” called as UNIcorn, is aimed to strengthen consortium universities’ capacity and governance of research commercialization and innovation. The wider objective of the project is to strengthen the Baltic region’s capacity in research commercialization, technology transfer and entrepreneurial education. The project activities address the changed role of a university during the last ten years – a university is not only seen as an educational and research institution, but it is more and more expected that the research produced in the university would serve societal challenges.
- The UNIcorn project has four main objectives:
- Develop and strengthen technology transfer process in participating HEIs Enhancing entrepreneurial education
- Strengthening technology transfer partnerships
- Improvement of the impact framework of technology transfer and entrepreneurial education
- The project is funded by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) through the HEI Initiative Pilot Call for Proposals. The project aimes to invite higher education institutions to design activities that would improve their entrepreneurial and innovation capacity.

The project partners include Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol and the project can have a direct link through challenge- solution matchmaking. This enables the companies to proceed to new markets and find first-hand customers internationally. (EN), H2020 SCALEUP Champions (EN) | International and cross-European deep-tech program for startups and scaling companies. The project consortia includes Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol and the project can have synergies through direct matchmaking the early stage technologies, products or services to mature corporations and public sector organisations. (EN), AI Development program (EN) | Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol is conducting an annual program matchmaking program for AI-specific startup and scaling companies. The aim of the program is to find technical, AI specific solutions for the industrial partners, that can have direct financial benefit out of the joint development. The piloting and joint development projects have financial support up to 70 000€ and that can be used within the framework of the project to help to launch the AI-specific solutions within real-life use-cases. The AI development program is financed by the Estonian Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications. (EN), Smart City Innovation Fund (EN) | Tallinn Science Park Tehnopol has initiated the partnership with the local municipalities of Estonia to pilot and practice smart city related technologies. The Smart City Innovation fund is currently operational in Tallinn and Kohtla-Järve, and gives the early stage companies the opportunity to test their solutions together with the municipalities. The pilots are co-financed by the municipalities, up to 150-200k€ annually. This gives the participating companies of the project a direct opportunity to test and try their solutions in real-life use-cases. (EN)

Contribution to wider strategies and policies:
- Other Estonian Research and Development, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Strategy 2021-2035. The project provides a new and innovative set of business development opportunities for the scaleups representing the national smart specialization strategy verticals, including digital solutions across all areas of life, health technologies, smart and sustainable energy solution. Also, the project encourages cross-sectorial cooperation, including corporations, startups, scaleups, RDI institutions.
- EUStrategyBalticSeaRegion The project aligns with the policy area Innovation (PA INNO) promotes a globally competitive position within innovation for sustainable economic growth in the Baltic Sea region and provides a strong platform for an enhanced macroregional collaborative ecosystem for innovation, research, SMEs and digitalization. It enables shared learning through knowledge- transfer activities; creates and strengthens networks across the Baltic Sea region; aligns resources and regulations e.g. through co-ordination of funding sources; facilitates the joining up of forces in common programmes and investments and in the development of solutions for common challenges. Moreover, it raises the Baltic Sea region’s profile, visibility and attractiveness as a partner of choice for international innovation cooperation within and beyond the Baltic Sea region. Each policy area will ensure that horizontal aspects, notably addressing climate change and cooperation with non-EU neighboring countries and organizations, are appropriately integrated into the work of the policy area. The aim is to turn challenges into opportunities for sustainable growth in the Baltic Sea region.
- The project activities are designed to scale up the use of co-creation among Baltic Sea region new Zebra companies improving their capabilities and absorptive capacities to efficiently turn market demand driven ideas into innovations; to connect innovation ecosystems across BSR.
