Climate change will cause hot and dry summers with around twice as many days above 30 °C, as well as a 10-20 % decrease in precipitation during the vegetation period, more frequent dry periods in summer and a higher intensity of rainfall during thunderstorms on both sides of the border. Weinviertel (AT) and South Moravia (CZ) are among the areas particularly affected by drought. This does not only increase drought stress in crops, limiting yields, but also soil erosion, resulting in loss of fertile soil. Therefore, farming methods that save water and improve soil structure will be essential. Good soil structure, which can quickly absorb large amounts of water during heavy rainfall and store it in the soil due to its high water infiltration capacity and high water storage capacity, counteracts erosion and also secures a longer-lasting water supply for the crops. Soil structure is closely linked to soil organic matter content and to a large and active soil microflora. The excretions of soil microorganisms and plant roots are crucially responsible for the stability of soil aggregates. Earthworm burrows enable several litres of water a minute per square metre to seep into the soil during heavy rainfall. Therefore, water-efficient farming methods and augmenting soil organic matter are essential for the adaptation to climate change. However, there are still some problems to be solved here: Cover crops, for example, greatly improve soil structure, but with increasingly dry conditions in summer it becomes more and more difficult to successfully establish them. Innovative, drought-tolerant cover crop mixtures and methods are therefore needed, as well as solutions for innovative, water-efficient cultivation methods such as strip-till soil cultivation, which currently often require the use of herbicides that damage soil microflora. However, the basic prerequisite for adapting soil cultivation using climate change-adapted methods is to create awareness among farmers and to give them the means to assess the climate fitness of their own soil with the help of easily applicable methods. The aim of the project is therefore to show land managers how they can evaluate the climate resilience of their own soils and what measures they can take. How? With an innovative method for assessing the climate fitness of soils tested under practical conditions in the project, supplemented by easy tools for quick assessment of climate resilience, as well as with management measures for climate change adaptation tested in demonstration trials. Based on the method for assessing soil health created in the completed AGRISAN project, the RESISOL project aims to develop an innovative method for assessing the climate fitness of soils. The cross-border cooperation between BFA, ZERA and MENDELU brings together expertise that is not available in their own countries. In addition to the main soil properties of the Agrisan method, the activity of microorganisms, soil fungi and earthworms will be measured and the mineral-associated organic matter, which represents the proportion of substances that originate from microorganisms and root excretions and are precursors of stable humus, will be analysed. At the same time, a set of easy methods and instruments will be developed that can be used by practitioners to gather information on the climate fitness of their own soils. The assessment is not carried out, as would be usual, in comparison with established guideline values, but innovatively in comparison with a near-natural soil at the same location as a measure of the maximum that can be achieved at this location. This enables a truly site-specific assessment in which factors such as soil type and small-scale climatic conditions are automatically taken into account, thereby preventing misjudgements. Integrating parameters that directly characterise the vitality of the soil is also an innovative approach. Indeed, it is precisely these parameters that are essential for assessing soil structure and climate fitness. Going beyond current practice in the development of methods is the intensive involvement of soil managers, the future users, in the development and testing process. On the one hand, this ensures the applicability and practical suitability of the method through feedback from practitioners and, on the other hand, it fosters their identification with the method. This way, it can be ascertained that they will apply and use the method. Joint cross-border events will be organized to communicate the knowledge gained in the project to the target groups. Na obou stranách hranice přinese změna klimatu teplejší a sušší léto s přibližně dvojnásobným počtem dnů s teplotou nad 30 °C, jakož i 10-20% pokles srážek během vegetačního období, častější období sucha v létě a vyšší intenzitu srážek během bouřek. Weinviertel (AT) a Jižní Morava (CZ) patří mezi oblasti zvláště postižené suchem. To zvyšuje nejen stres plodin ze sucha, který má omezující vliv na výnos, ale také zvyšuje erozi půdy, což má za následek ztrátu úrodné půdy. Nezbytné jsou proto metody hospodaření, které šetří vodou a zlepšují strukturu půdy. Dobrá struktura půdy s vysokou infiltrační a retenční schopností, která dokáže při přívalových deštích rychle pojmout velké množství vody a akumulovat ji v půdě, zabraňuje erozi a také zajišťuje plodinám po delší dobu zásobení vodou. Struktura půdy úzce souvisí s obsahem humusu v půdě a s početnou a aktivní půdní mikroflórou. Výměšky půdních mikroorganismů a kořenů rostlin jsou zásadní měrou zodpovědné za stabilitu půdních agregátů. Žížalí chodbičky umožňují, aby při přívalových deštích na každém metru čtverečním prosáklo do půdy několik litrů vody za minutu. Metody hospodaření šetrné k vodě a budování zásob organické hmoty v půdě jsou proto nezbytné pro přizpůsobení se změně klimatu. Stále však zbývá vyřešit několik problémů: Například meziplodiny podstatně zlepšují kvalitu půdy, ale následkem sušších podmínek v létě je úspěšné zakládání meziplodin stále obtížnější. Proto jsou nezbytné inovativní meziplodinové směsi, které jsou odolné suchu, včetně metod jejich zakládání, stejně tak jako novátorská řešení způsobů obhospodařování, která šetří vodu, jako je například obdělávání půdy metodou Strip-Till, které se v současné době často neobejde bez herbicidů poškozujících půdní mikroflóru. Základním předpokladem pro adaptaci hospodaření na metody, které jsou přizpůsobené klimatické změně, je však dosažení žádoucího povědomí mezi uživateli půdy a poskytnutí možnosti posoudit si odolnost vlastní půdy vůči klimatické změně pomocí jednoduchých, praktičtějších metod. Cílem projektu je proto ukázat uživatelům půdy, jak si mohou zjistit odolnost své půdy vůči klimatickým výkyvům a jaká opatření mohou přijmout. Jak? Pomocí inovativní metody hodnocení odolnosti půd vůči klimatické změně testované v praktických podmínkách projektu, doplněné o jednoduché pomůcky pro rychlé posouzení odolnosti půd, a také pomocí manažerských opatření pro přizpůsobení se změně klimatu, která byla testována v demonstračních pokusech. Na základě metody hodnocení zdraví půdy vypracované v rámci ukončeného projektu AGRISAN by měla být v projektu RESISOL vyvinuta inovativní metoda hodnocení odolnosti půd vůči klimatické změně. Přeshraniční spolupráce mezi BFA, ZERA a MENDELU sdružuje k tomuto účelu odborné kompetence, které nejsou v jejich vlastních zemích k dispozici. Kromě hlavních půdních vlastností posuzovaných metodou Agrisan bude měřena aktivita mikroorganismů, půdních hub a žížal a analyzována minerálně vázaná organická hmota, která představuje podíl těch látek, jež pocházejí z výměšků mikroorganismů a kořenů a jsou prekurzory stabilního humusu. Současně bude vypracován soubor jednoduchých metod a pomůcek, které mohou praktici přímo využít, aby si udělali obrázek o odolnosti vlastních půd vůči klimatické změně. Hodnocení se nebude provádět jako obvykle porovnáním se stanovenými doporučenými hodnotami, ale inovativně porovnáním s hodnotou stanovenou z nedaleké přírodě blízké půdy jako ukazatele potenciálního maxima dosažitelného na daném stanovišti. To umožňí hodnocení skutečně přizpůsobené dané lokalitě, při kterém budou automaticky zohledněny takové faktory, jako je typ půdy a klimatické podmínky v malém měřítku, čímž se předchází chybným odhadům. Inovativním přístupem bude také zahrnutí parametrů, které přímo charakterizují vitalitu půdy. Právě tyto parametry budou však pro posouzení struktury půdy a odolnosti půdy vůči klimatické změně zásadní. Intenzivní zapojení subjektů hospodařících na půdách včetně budoucích uživatelů do procesu vývoje a testování metody přesahuje dosavadní praxi při vývoji metod. Na jedné straně se tím zajistí uplatnění a praktická využitelnost metody prostřednictvím zpětné vazby od odborníků z praxe a na straně druhé se vytváří podmínky, aby se s ní mohli odborníci z praxe ztotožnit. To zaručí, že metoda bude později používaná a uplatnitelná. Tyto znalosti budou cílovým skupinám předány v rámci společných přeshraničních akcí. Datum zahájení projektu: 1.4.2024

Der Klimawandel wird auf beiden Seiten der Grenze heiße, trockenere Sommer mit etwa doppelt so vielen Tagen über 30 °C mit sich bringen, sowie einen Rückgang von 10-20 % bei den Niederschlägen in der Vegetationsperiode, häufigeren Trockenperioden im Sommer und einer höheren Niederschlagsintensität bei Gewittern. Das Weinviertel (AT) u. Südmähren (CZ) gehören zu den besonders stark von Trockenheit betroffenen Gebieten. Dies steigert nicht nur den Trockenstress bei Kulturpflanzen, welcher sich ertragslimitierend auswirkt, sondern verstärkt auch die Bodenerosion, bei der fruchtbarer Boden verloren geht. Notwendig sind also Bewirtschaftungsmethoden, die Wasser sparen und die Bodenstruktur verbessern. Eine gute Bodenstruktur, die durch eine hohe Wasserinfiltrationsleistung und eine hohe Wasserspeicherfähigkeit die rasche Aufnahme großer Wassermengen bei Starkniederschlägen und deren Speicherung im Boden bewerkstelligen kann, wirkt der Erosion entgegen und sichert auch eine längere Wasserversorgung der Kulturpflanzen. Die Bodenstruktur ist eng mit dem Humusgehalt des Bodens und einer großen und aktiven Bodenmikroflora verknüpft. Die Ausscheidungen von Bodenmikroorganismen und Pflanzenwurzeln sind wesentlich für die Stabilität der Bodenaggregate verantwortlich. Regenwurmröhren ermöglichen es, dass bei Starkregen auf jedem Quadratmeter mehrere Liter Wasser pro Minute im Boden versickern. Somit sind wassereffiziente Bewirtschaftungsmethoden und der Aufbau von organischer Substanz im Boden bei der Anpassung an den Klimawandel unerlässlich. Hier sind aber noch einige Probleme zu lösen: Begrünungen z.B. verbessern die Bodenstruktur enorm, bei zunehmend trockenen Bedingungen im Sommer wird das erfolgreiche Etablieren einer Begrünung aber immer schwieriger. Gesucht sind also innovative trockenheitsverträgliche Begrünungsmischungen u. -verfahren, ebenso wie Lösungen für innovative wassereffiziente Bewirtschaftungsverfahren wie die Strip-Till-Bodenbewirtschaftung, die derzeit häufig noch nicht ohne Bodenmikroflora-schädigende Herbizide auskommen. Die Grundvoraussetzung für eine Anpassung der Bewirtschaftung mit klimawandelangepassten Verfahren ist aber das Bewusstsein der Bewirtschafter dafür zu schaffen, u. ihnen die Möglichkeit zu geben, mit Hilfe einfacher praxistauglicher Methoden die Klimafitness des eigenen Bodens einzuschätzen. Ziel des Projektes ist es daher, Bodenbewirtschaftern zu zeigen, wie sie selbst die Klimaresilienz ihrer eigenen Böden feststellen und welche Maßnahmen sie setzen können. Wie? Mit einer im Projekt unter Praxisbedingungen geprüften innovativen Methode zur Einschätzung der Klimafitness von Böden, ergänzt durch einfache Werkzeuge für eine schnelle Bewertung der Klimaresilienz, sowie mit in Demonstrationsversuchen getesteten Bewirtschaftungsmaßnahmen zur Klimawandelanpassung. Auf der Basis der im abgeschl. Projekt AGRISAN geschaffenen Methode zur Beurteilung der Bodengesundheit soll im Projekt RESISOL eine innovative Methode zur Bewertung der Klimafitness von Böden entwickelt werden. Die grenzüberschreitende Kooperation zwischen BFA, ZERA und MENDELU bündelt dafür Expertise, die im jeweils eigenen Land so nicht zur Verfügung steht. Zusätzlich zu den Hauptbodeneigenschaften der Agrisan-Methode wird die Aktivität von Mikroorganismen, Bodenpilzen und Regenwürmern gemessen sowie die mineral-assoziierte organische Substanz analysiert, die den Anteil an Substanzen, die aus Mikroorganismen- und Wurzelausscheidungen stammen und Vorläufer von stabilem Humus sind, darstellt. Gleichzeitig wird ein Set von einfachen Methoden und Instrumenten erarbeitet, das direkt von Praktikern angewendet werden kann, um sich selbst ein Bild von der Klimafitness ihrer Böden zu machen. Die Beurteilung erfolgt nicht wie üblich im Vergleich mit festgesetzten Richtwerten, sondern innovativ im Vergleich mit einem naturnahen Boden am gleichen Standort als Maß für das auf diesem Standort maximal Erreichbare. Dies ermöglicht eine tatsächlich standortangepasste Beurteilung, bei der Faktoren wie z.B. Bodenart, kleinräumige Klimabedingungen automatisch mitberücksichtigt werden u. dadurch Fehleinschätzungen verhindert werden. Das Einbeziehen von Parametern, die direkt die Belebtheit des Bodens charakterisieren, ist ebenfalls ein innovativer Ansatz. Aber genau diese Parameter sind essentiell um die Bodenstruktur und die Klimafitness beurteilen zu können. Über die bestehende Praxis bei der Entwicklung von Methoden hinausgehend ist die intensive Einbindung der Bodenbewirtschafter, der späteren Nutzer, in den Entwicklungs- und Testprozess. Dadurch kann einerseits über das Feedback aus der Praxis die Anwendbarkeit und die Praxistauglichkeit der Methode sichergestellt werden u. andererseits eine Identifikation der Praktiker damit geschaffen werden. Hiermit wird garantiert, dass sie die Methode später auch anwenden u. nutzen werden. Dieses Wissen wird in grenzübergreifenden Veranstaltungen den Zielgruppen vermittelt. Beginn: 1.4.2024

In the first reporting period, the project aim – to develop the RESISOL method to assess the climate fitness of soils – was presented to representatives of target groups (such as land managers, landowners, regional authorities, etc.) in order to raise awareness of climate change adaptation measures and to raise interest in practical methods. In the Czech Republic, an intensive dialogue with practitioners took place on this topic. A working group of advisors and farmers was formed to contribute their practical and technical knowledge to the development of the method in the course of the project. On 30 September 2024, the kick-off seminar took place in Blatnice (CZ), in which all project partners participated. It was attended by agricultural practitioners, representatives of regional authorities, ÚKZÚZ, the Association for Innovative Agriculture SIUZ and agricultural schools. The project contents were presented, the need for action due to the progressing climate change and measures were discussed and debated. The application of simple methods and tools was demonstrated to the participants directly in the field. Furthermore, in CZ and AT suitable agricultural enterprises to carry out the sampling and tests for the development of the RESISOL method at their sites were searched for and selected. Initial test sampling was carried out at two sites in the Czech Republic in accordance with the methodology established to date. In AT two demonstration trials (drought-tolerant cover crops and application of wood chips in the field) were set up, sampled and analysed. In CZ the well-known and important long-term trial on drought in Banín was also sampled and analysed. In order to be able to utilise fast and cost-effective methods for measuring relevant soil parameters, near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and a spectrophotometer will be used. For the calibration of an NIR spectrometer, an agreement was made with an agricultural school to take and analyse 450 soil samples and a spectrophotometer was purchased. The pot experiment to quantify the contribution of catch crops to the formation of mycorrhiza, soluble organic carbon (DOC) and mineral-bound carbon (in the form of mineral-associated organic matter MAOM) was carried out in parallel in AT and CZ. This involved a transfer of knowledge and an exchange of materials between the partners. To develop a set of simple methods and tools for practical use, tests and methods were researched and carried out, and preparations were made for further tests. For the humus balance workshop, which also represents a transfer of knowledge between the partners, content was adapted and the programme designed. The development of the RESISOL method is intended to enable landowners and farmers in the Czech Republic and Austria to assess their soils’ adaptability to climate change and take appropriate measures. In the Czech Republic, an intensive dialogue with practitioners took place on this topic in order to raise awareness of climate change adaptation measures and to raise interest in the use of practical methods. The project was presented to representatives of target groups (such as land managers, landowners, regional authorities, etc.) at the kick-off seminar and to students at an agricultural school during a workshop. A working group of advisors and farmers has been formed that is already actively contributing its practical and technical knowledge to the project for the development of the method. Furthermore, in CZ and AT suitable agricultural enterprises were selected to carry out the sampling and tests for the development of the RESISOL method. Most of the sampling has already been completed and analysis of the soil samples has begun. All project partners participating in this task work in close collaboration, with individual participants providing the analyses of certain parameters for all other project partners, which ensures a high-quality evaluation. An initial number of methods for sampling and evaluating individual parameters has been completed. In order to be able to utilise fast and cost-effective methods for measuring relevant soil parameters, near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) and a spectrophotometer will be used. For the calibration of the NIR spectrometer many samples will be taken and analysed - the first part of these samples has been taken. Two demonstration trials (drought-tolerant cover crops and application of wood chips in the field) were set up and continued in AT, and the well-known and important long-term trial on drought in Banín, CZ, was also continued. The pot experiment to quantify the contribution of catch crops to the formation of mycorrhiza, soluble organic carbon (DOC) and mineral-bound carbon (in the form of mineral-associated organic matter MAOM) was carried out in parallel in AT and CZ. The final sampling has been completed, and the analysis has begun. This involved a transfer of knowledge between the partners, an exchange of materials and an exchange of samples for mutual analysis. To develop a set of simple methods and tools for practical use, tests and methods were researched, trials were conducted, and initial assessments were made. Pro vývoj metody RESISOL pro hodnocení klimatické zdatnosti půd byl projekt v 1.MO představen zástupcům cílových skupin (jako jsou uživatelé půd, vlastníci pozemků, regionální úřady atd.) s cílem zprostředkovat poznatky o opatřeních pro adaptaci na změnu klimatu a vzbudit zájem o praktické metody. V České republice probíhal o této problematice intenzivní dialog s odborníky z praxe. V rámci tohoto procesu byla vytvořena pracovní skupina poradců a zemědělců, kteří svými praktickými a technickými znalostmi přispějí k rozvoji metody v průběhu projektu. Úvodní seminář proběhl 30. září 2024 v Blatnici (CZ), kterého se zúčastnili všichni partneři projektu. Zúčastnili se zemědělští praktici, zástupci regionálních úřadů, ÚKZÚZ, Sdružení pro inovativní zemědělství SIUZ a farmářská škola. Byl představen projekt, jeho obsah a byla prodiskutována potřeba akce z důvodu postupující změny klimatu a opatření. Aplikace jednoduchých metod a nástrojů byla účastníkům předvedena přímo v terénu. Dále byly osloveny a vybrány vhodné farmy v ČR a AT, na jejichž místech bude probíhat odběr vzorků a testy pro vývoj metody RESISOL. Prvotní zkušební odběr vzorků byl proveden na dvou místech v ČR podle dříve stanovené metodiky. Byly založeny dva demonstrační pokusy (suchovzdorné meziplodiny a aplikace dřevní štěpky v terénu), posouzeny a odebrány vzorky v AT a byly provedeny analýzy. Vzorky byly odebrány a analyzovány také na významném dlouhodobém experimentu se suchem v Baníně v ČR. Pro použití rychlých a cenově výhodných metod pro měření relevantních parametrů půdy se používá také infračervená spektroskopie (NIR) a spektrofotometr. Pro kalibraci NIR spektrometru byl s farmářskou školou dohodnut odběr 450 vzorků půdy a zakoupen spektrofotometr. V AT a CZ byl paralelně proveden nádobový pokus ke kvantifikaci příspěvku krycích plodin k tvorbě mykorhizy, rozpustného organického uhlíku (DOC) a minerálně vázaného uhlíku (ve formě minerálně asociované organické hmoty MAOM). Za tímto účelem došlo mezi partnery k předávání znalostí a výměně materiálů. Pro vývoj souboru jednoduchých metod a nástrojů pro praktické použití byly zkoumány testy a metody, prováděny testy a příprava na testování. Proběhla příprava na workshop bilance humusu, který také představuje předávání znalostí mezi partnery, proběhla příprava obsahu a navržení programu. Vývoj metody RESISOL má umožnit vlastníkům a uživatelům půdy v ČR a Rakousku posoudit klimatickou zdatnost jejich půd a zavést vhodná opatření. V ČR proběhl intenzivní dialog s odborníky z praxe s cílem zprostředkovat znalosti o opatřeních pro adaptaci na změnu klimatu a podpořit zájem o aplikaci praktických metod. Projekt byl prezentován různým cílovým skupinám (jako jsou uživatelé půd, vlastníci půd, regionální úřady atd.) na úvodním semináři a také studentům farmářské školy v rámci workshopu. Byla také vytvořena pracovní skupina poradců a zemědělců, která má aktivně přispět svými praktickými a odbornými znalostmi k rozvoji projektu. Dále byly vybrány vhodné praktické podniky v ČR a Rakousku pro odběr vzorků a pokusy s cílem vyvinout a otestovat metodu RESISOL. Velká část odběrů vzorků v praktických podnicích již byla dokončena a byly zahájeny analýzy vzorků půdy. Partneři projektu úzce spolupracují, přičemž u všech ostatních se provádějí analýzy specifických parametrů, což zajišťuje vysoce kvalitní hodnocení. Počáteční metody pro odběr vzorků a hodnocení jednotlivých parametrů byly dokončeny. Pro umožnění rychlých a nákladově efektivních metod měření relevantních parametrů půdy se používá také blízká infračervená spektroskopie (NIR) a spektrofotometr. Pro kalibraci NIR spektrometru se odebírá a analyzuje velké množství vzorků půdy – první část těchto odběrů vzorků byla dokončena. V Rakousku byly zavedeny a pokračují dva demonstrační pokusy (krycí plodiny odolné vůči suchu a aplikace dřevní štěpky na pole) a v ČR pokračoval známý a důležitý dlouhodobý experiment (simulace sucha) v Baníně. Souběžně v Rakousku a ČR probíhal nádobový pokus pro kvantifikaci příspěvku krycích plodin k tvorbě mykorhizy, rozpustného organického uhlíku (DOC) a minerálně vázaného uhlíku (ve formě organické hmoty asociované s minerály, MAOM). Byl proveden finální odběr vzorků a začaly analýzy. Mezi partnery probíhal přenos znalostí, výměna materiálů a vzorků pro vzájemnou analýzu. Pro vývoj sady jednoduchých metod a nástrojů pro praktické použití byly zkoumány testy a metody a byly provedeny pokusy a počáteční hodnocení. Mezi partnery probíhal také přenos znalostí - bilance humusu.

Für die Entwicklung der RESISOL-Methode zur Beurteilung der Klimafitness von Böden wurde das Projektvorhaben im ersten Berichtszeitraum Vertretern von Zielgruppen (wie Bodenbewirtschaftern, Landbesitzern, regionalen Behörden u.a.) vorgestellt, um einerseits Wissen über Maßnahmen zur Anpassung an den Klimawandel zu vermitteln und um das Interesse an praxistauglichen Methoden zu wecken. In Tschechien fand dazu ein intensiver Dialog mit der Praxis statt. Im Zuge dessen wurde eine Arbeitsgruppe aus Beratern und Landwirten gebildet, die ihr praktisches und fachliches Wissen für die Entwicklung der Methode im Laufe des Projektes einbringen werden. Am 30. September 2024 fand das Einführungsseminar in Blatnice (CZ) statt, an dem alle Projektpartner mitwirkten. Es nahmen landwirtschaftliche Praktiker, Vertreter der Regionalbehörde, von ÚKZÚZ, des Verbands für innovative Landwirtschaft SIUZ und der Landwirtschaftsschulen teil. Das Projekt und die Inhalte wurden vorgestellt, der Handlungsbedarf aufgrund des fortschreitenden Klimawandels und Maßnahmen wurden besprochen und diskutiert. Die Anwendung einfacher Methoden und Werkzeuge wurde den Teilnehmern direkt am Feld vorgeführt. Weiters wurden geeignete Praxisbetriebe in CZ und AT angefragt und ausgewählt, an deren Standorten die Probenahmen und Versuche zur Entwicklung der RESISOL-Methode durchgeführt werden. Erste Test-Probenahmen erfolgten an zwei Standorten in CZ gemäß der bisher festgelegten Methodik. Zwei Demonstrationsversuche (trockentolerante Begrünungen und Ausbringung von Holzhäcksel am Feld) wurden in AT angelegt, bonitiert und beprobt sowie Analysen durchgeführt. Der bekannte und wichtige Langzeitversuch zu Trockenheit in Banín in CZ wurde ebenso beprobt und Analysen durchgeführt. Um schnelle und kostengünstige Methoden zur Messung von relevanten Bodenparametern nützen zu können, werden ergänzend die Nah-Infrarot Spektroskopie (NIR) und ein Spektrophotometer eingesetzt. Dazu wurde für die Kalibration eines NIR-Spektrometers die Probenahme von 450 Bodenproben mit einer Landwirtschaftsschule abgesprochen sowie ein Spektrophotometer angeschafft. Der Gefäßversuch zur Quantifizierung des Beitrags von Zwischenfrüchten zur Bildung von Mykorrhiza, von löslichem organischem Kohlenstoff (DOC) und von mineralisch gebundenem Kohlenstoff (in Form von mineral-assoziierter organischer Substanz MAOM) wurde in AT und CZ parallel angelegt. Dazu erfolgten zwischen den Partnern ein Wissenstransfer und ein Austausch von Materialien. Zur Entwicklung eines Sets einfacher Methoden und Werkzeuge für die Praxis wurden Tests und Methoden recherchiert, Tests durchgeführt und Vorbereitungen für Austestungen getätigt. Für den Humusbilanz-Workshop, der ebenso einen Wissenstransfer zwischen den Partnern darstellt, wurden Vorbereitungen getroffen wie die Anpassung von Inhalten und die Konzeption des Programms. Die Entwicklung der RESISOL-Methode soll es Landbesitzern und Bewirtschaftern in CZ und AT ermöglichen, die Klimafitness ihrer Böden zu beurteilen und geeingete Maßnahmen zu setzen. In Tschechien fand dazu ein intensiver Dialog mit der Praxis statt, um einerseits Wissen über Maßnahmen zur Anpassung an den Klimawandel zu vermitteln und um andererseits das Interesse an der Anwendung praxistauglicher Methoden zu wecken. Das Projekt wurde beim Einführungsseminar unterschiedlichen Zielgruppen (wie Bodenbewirtschaftern, Landbesitzern, regionalen Behörden u.a.) und im Rahmen eines Workshops SchülerInnen einer Landwirtschaftsschule vorgestellt. Auch wurde eine Arbeitsgruppe aus Beratern und Landwirten gebildet, die ihr praktisches und fachliches Wissen für die Entwicklung der Methode aktiv in das Projekt einbringt. Weiters wurden geeignete Praxisbetriebe in CZ und AT ausgewählt, an deren Standorten die Probenahmen und Versuche zur Entwicklung und Prüfung der RESISOL-Methode durchgeführt werden. Ein Großteil der Probenahmen auf den Praxisbetrieben wurde bereits durchgeführt und mit den Analysen der Bodenproben begonnen. Hierbei findet eine enge Zusammenarbeit der Projektpartner statt, indem die Analysen bestimmter Parameter für alle anderen übernommen werden, was eine hohe Qualität in der Auswertung gewährleistet. Erste Methoden zur Probenahme und zur Auswertung einzelner Parameter wurden fertiggestellt. V těchto pokusech byly vyvinuty základní principy pro pěstování porostů, které platí dodnes, např. že vegetační směsi jsou účinnější než vegetace jednotlivých druhů. Z toho vycházejí demonstrační pokusy na téma meziplodin plánované v projektu RESISOL, ale otázky v projektu RESISOL směřují k tomu, jak lze dosáhnout efektivní porostu meziplodin i v podmínkách klimatických změn, v silném horku a suchu v létě.
Prvky „ létající půdní účebny“ vyvinuté v projektu SONDAR CZ-AT lze využít pro informační stánky pro širokou veřejnost k ilustraci funkcí půdy, jako je účinnost žížalích chodbiček pro infiltraci deště. (CS), Das Projekt RESISOL nutzt die Erfahrungen aus dem abgeschlossenen Projekt "Bodenschutznetzwerk im Donauraum" SONDAR CZ-AT aus Begrünungsversuchen in Weingärten in Südmähren und auf Ackerflächen im Weinviertel. In diesen Versuchen wurden Grundlagen für den Begrünungsanbau erarbeitet, die noch heute gültig sind, z.B. dass Begrünungsmischungen zielführender sind als Begrünungen aus einzelnen Arten. Die im Projekt RESISOL geplanten Demonstrationsversuche zum Thema Begrünungen bauen darauf auf, die Fragestellungen im Projekt RESISOL zielen jedoch auf Möglichkeiten, wie auch unter Bedingungen des Klimawandels, bei starker Hitze und Trockenheit im Sommer, ein wirksamer Begrünungsbestand erzielt werden kann.

Zelený kompas vyvinutý a rozšířený v projektu AGRISAN bude možné využít v projektu RESISOL při sestavování suchomilných meziplodinových směsí.

Contribution to wider strategies and policies:

EUStrategyDanubeRegion Das Projekt ist im Einklang mit Prioritätachse 2 „Umwelt und Ressourcen“ der Donauraumstrategie und trägt im Speziellen zu den Zielen der Investitionspriorität 6f bei: „Förderung von innovativen Technologien zur Verbesserung des Umweltschutzes und der Ressourceneffizienz im Bereich des Bodens “. Hier wird als konkretes Ziel die Reduktion der Bodenerosion genannt. Daneben unterstützt das Projekt auch Priorität 6d „Schutz und Wiederherstellung des Bodens“. Weiters das spezifische Ziel „Förderung der Klimawandelanpassung und der Katastrophenvorbeugung“ und über Verbesserung der Puffer- und Filterfunktion der Böden auch das spezifische Ziel „Nachhaltiges Wassermanagement“. Durch den transdisziplinären Wissenstransfer zwischen Forschungseinrichtungen und dem privaten Sektor trägt es auch zu PA7 "Entwicklung der Wissensgesellschaft durch Forschung, Bildung und Informationstechnologie" bei.
Durch Bewusstseinsbildung für die Notwendigkeit der Klimawandelanpassung der Böden, durch die ausgearbeiteten Methoden, die Landbesitzer und -bewirtschafter anwenden können, um die Klimafitness ihrer Böden zu testen, und schließlich durch das in Veranstaltungen und Feldtagen verbreitete Wissen um geeignete Maßnahmen zur Erhöhung der Klimafitness von Böden werden diese motiviert und in die Lage versetzt, in ihrem Wirkungsbereich Maßnahmen zu setzen, die die Bodenqualität verbessern und die Wasseraufnahme- und speicherfähigkeit ihrer Böden erhöhen und damit auch die Bodenerosion reduzieren.
Die Projektpartner sind in der Donauländer-ARGE ‚Sustainability, Soil Protection and Land Use’aktiv und wirken bei der jährlichen Conference of the Working Community of the Danube Region mit.
Other EU-Strategie zur Anpassung an den Klimawandel (COM(2013) 216 final):
Das Projekt leistet einen Beitrag zur Stärkung der Klimaresilienz Europas, konkret des Projektgebietes. Es verstärkt die Vorsorge und das Reaktionsvermögen in Bezug auf die Auswirkungen des Klimawandels grenzübergreifend auf lokaler und regionaler Ebene. Das Projekt beinhaltet, wie in der Strategie bevorzugt, einen ökosystembasierten Ansatz. Ökosystembasierte Ansätze sind in der Regel kosteneffizient, einfach durchzuführen und bieten zahlreiche Vorteile, wie geringere Hochwassergefahr, weniger Bodenerosion und dadurch höhere Wasserqualität.
Österreichische Strategie zur Anpassung an den Klimawandel:
Die Projektziele und -outputs des Projekts RESISOL entsprechen den Handlungsempfehlungen für das Aktivitätsfeld Landwirtschaft in der Österr. Klimawandelanpassungsstrategie: Nachhaltiger Aufbau des Bodens und Sicherung der Bodenfruchtbarkeit, -struktur und -stabilität.
Smart Klima City Strategie Wien:
Ziel der Smart Klima City Strategie Wien ist die Erhaltung und Sicherung der vielfältigen Stadtlandwirtschaft und Förderung eines nachhaltigen Ernährungssystems und damit verbunden auch die Forcierung einer ressourcenschonenden und ökologischen landwirtschaftlichen Produktion. Die im Projekt entwickelten Methoden zur Bewertung der Klimafitness von Böden und die den Zielgruppen in Wien bekanntgemachten innovativen Maßnahmen, um Böden klimafit zu machen, unterstützen die Wiener Landwirte, mit der im Stadtgebiet besonders starken klimawandelbedingten Temperaturerhöhung und Trockenheit zurechtzukommen, damit eine vielfältige nachhaltige landwirtschaftliche Produktion erhalten wird.
Other Vídeňská strategie pro další rozšíření ekologického zemědělství ve Vídni (program vedení města 2020):
Podle cílů strategického procesu „Budoucnost městského zemědělství ve Vídni 2025“ usiluje Vídeň o nejvyšší podíl produkce a spotřeby biopotravin ze všech spolkových zemí. Opatření ke zvýšení odolnosti půd vůči klimatické změně, která budou v projektu testována v demonstračních pokusech a šířena v polních dnech, zlepšují také zpracovatelnost a zásobení živinami a obecně kvalitu půdy, což je výhodné zejména pro ekologické zemědělství.
Klimatický program spolkové země Dolní Rakousko (Dolnorakouský klimatický a energetický plán 2020 až 2030):
V klimatickém programu spolkové země Dolní Rakousko je cílem „zemědělství a lesnictví šetrného ke klimatu“ podporovat hospodářské postupy šetrné ke klimatu a životnímu prostředí (jako je ozelenění orné půdy pěstováním meziplodin, mulčování a přímé setí, ekologické zemědělství), humusem dobře zásobené půdy jsou také v zájmu zemědělských podniků: Humus je schopen omezit negativní jevy klimatické změny jako je sucho a eroze při vydatných deštích. Klimatický program spolkové země Dolní Rakousko konkrétně zmiňuje bilancování humusu. V projektu budou inovace v těchto opatřeních testovány v demonstračních pokusech a přibližovány cílovým skupinám na polních dnech. Bilancování humusu bude jedním z nástrojů, které mohou zemědělci použít k posouzení odolnosti svého hospodaření vůči klilmatické změně.

Other Česká strategie přizpůsobení se změně klimatu:
Tato strategie se zaměřuje na udržitelný rozvoj odolný vůči změně klimatu, jehož cílem je dosáhnout stavu připravenosti. Opatření testovaná v projektu podpoří dosažení cílů stanovených v české strategii, jako je snížení eroze půdy, ekologické zemědělství a opatření proti zemědělskému suchu. Projekt je v souladu s požadavkem české Strategie přizpůsobení se změně klimatu, že řešení by měla vycházet především z principů udržitelného zemědělství: ochrana půdy a omezování eroze, zlepšování struktury půdy a zvyšování obsahu humusu v půdách. Akce v projektu budou mít za cíl zvýšit povědomí mezi vlastníky a uživateli půdy o nutnosti adaptace na změnu klimatu. Metoda RESISOL vyvinutá v projektu i sada jednoduchých, samostatně aplikovatelných pomůcek, jim umožní získat představu o odolnosti jejich půd vůči klimatické změně, což je bude motivovat k přijetí vhodných opatření.
