- European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) initiatives (EN) | The collaboration with Frontex initiatives provides a vital synergy, particularly in the realm of border security and management. Frontex, responsible for promoting, coordinating, and developing European border management in line with the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, undertakes numerous operations and projects aimed at enhancing the security of the EU's external borders. By aligning with Frontex's initiatives, the ALERT project can benefit from existing frameworks, resources, and expertise in border security. This includes access to advanced surveillance and tracking technologies, shared intelligence and data on cross-border criminal activities, and best practices in border patrol and management. Moreover, Frontex's emphasis on training and capacity building for border guards and law enforcement officials dovetails with ALERT's focus on enhancing the skills and capabilities of personnel. This synergy will not only enhance the effectiveness of border security measures but also foster a more integrated and cooperative approach to managing cross-border crime in the Black Sea region. (EN), EU's Horizon 2020 security research program (EN) | The ALERT project aligns well with the EU's Horizon 2020 program, specifically its focus on security research. Horizon 2020, the EU's largest research and innovation program, has funded numerous projects aimed at enhancing public safety, security, and resilience. By leveraging the research, findings, and technological developments from Horizon 2020 projects in the field of security, the ALERT project can incorporate cutting-edge technologies and innovative methodologies into its operations. This includes advancements in digital forensics, cybercrime detection and prevention, and sophisticated data analysis tools for crime prediction and prevention. Furthermore, Horizon 2020's emphasis on collaborative research across EU countries aligns with the cross-border nature of the ALERT project, promoting a shared approach to addressing security challenges. The integration of research-based solutions and innovative technologies from Horizon 2020 projects can significantly enhance the forensic capabilities and efficiency of law enforcement agencies involved in the ALERT project.
