- «Management and use of urban forests as natural heritage in Danube cities» (URBforDAN) under Danube Transnational Programme with a total project budget of 2 788 566,61 Euro.
- Duration: 34 months. Start: June 2018. (EN) | The URBforDAN project is intended to approach actual needs and challenges linked to sustainable management of natural heritage within urban areas of the Danube Region.
- The project is intended to keep the current image of urban forests and to make sure that the forest areas become places for socialization, relaxation, recreation and education. Also, a high-quality experience of natural heritage and green tourism for a diverse set of target groups has to be ensured. URBforDAN aims to improve cooperation between key actors to resolve conflicts and improve management of urban green zones.
- The synergy between the U_Lakes project and the UrbforDAN initiative is rooted in a shared commitment to sustainable urban development, environmental conservation, and holistic educational practices, providing stakeholders with hands-on learning experiences and workshops related to environmental sustainability, biodiversity, and the importance of urban green spaces.
- U_Lakes can incorporate principles from the UrbforDAN project, promoting the integration of urban green spaces as places for recreation and relaxation including educational and touristic components. (EN), “Cross-border Green Transport Network” (CGTN) under Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine ENI Cross-Border Cooperation Programme 2014-2020 with a total project budget of 280 805,49 Euro.
- Duration: 18 months. Start: October 2019.
- (EN) | The CGTN project envisages the implementation of system solutions in the development of environmentally friendly transport systems with low emissions and noise, encouraging the active use of electric cars by residents.
- During the project implementation a network of 19 charging stations was created in 4 partner cities such as Ivano-Frankivsk (Ukraine), Baia Mare (Romania), Michalovce (Slovakia) and Nyiredgaza (Hungary).
- The newly developed project aims to continue the practice of sustainable use of natural resources in cities, as well as to increase the awareness of the local population about proper interaction with nature in partner cities. (EN), Eminescu-One Culture, One route in Botosani-Balti Cross-Border Area – a project financed within the Joint Operational Programme Romania-Republic of Moldova 2014-2020. (EN) | “Mihai Eminescu” Park was populated with digital totems and totems signaling the touristic route founded through the project. Two statue groups – one envisaging Eminescu (the Romanian national poet) sitting on a bench, and the other envisaging Eminescu and the woman he loved, Veronica, were emplaced in the park. Two gazeboes were restored within the project. At the same time, 100 rocks with verse from his most known poem were spread throughout the city, the park included, to guide the steps of the tourists along the newly-created route.
- The project is aimed at further development of this park. (EN), Arrangement of the recreation area Varnav Street nr. 17 A in Botosani municipality – funded under the Regional Operational Programme 2014-2020. (EN) | Project envisaged the improvement of the urban environment of Botosani and its revitalization, through measures to regenerate the degraded land on Varnav Street, no.17A and convert this area into a public park. This way, “Mihai Eminescu” Park was extended with around 4000sqm. (EN), "Landscaping Slope Pacea" (EN) | "Landscaping Slope Pacea" - the local public administration is transforming a degraded, unused land, located inside the city, into a recreational and leisure area for the inhabitants of Botosani municipality. By reconverting this unused land, but which has a high tourist potential, it is desired to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of the municipality, by providing them with modern and attractive leisure facilities, thus satisfying their desire for recreation and at the same time contributing to improving the aesthetic aspect of the municipality, as well as reducing the level of CO2, as a result of increasing green areas.
