- The activities of the project contributed to solving the sectoral problems defined in the Master Plan for National Tourism of Romania 2007 – 2026. The immediate objective is to formulate a general policy framework for the sustainable development and management of the tourism industry in terms of natural and cultural resources.
- This plan is an umbrella policy that includes different plans and strategies, described to optimize the sector's contribution to the national economy. The project contributes to the realization of the following master plan objective: strengthening the enhancement and preservation of cultural heritage.

- Objective: Increasing the visibility of the cultural and historical cross-border heritage of the Central Region of Republic of Moldova and Galati County, Romania by strengthening the capacities of cultural institutions, creating a network of Tourist information Centers in the major destinations promoted. Results: Improved knowledge and skills of 20 guides for tourism capitalization of cultural heritage, eight interconnected tourist areas, increased number of visitors, the cultural and historical heritage promoted on the internal and external tourist market in the cross-border network of eight remarkable tourist areas.
- Therefore, the project "HISTORY JOINS US" capitalizes on the former experience of cooperation achieved through the implementation of Exploiting and enhancing the visibility of cultural and historical heritage within a cross-border network of museums - Tourist Information Centers project in order to enhance the promotion of the common heritage in Romania and Republic of Moldova.

- Project Partners: Union of Bulgarian Black Sea Local Authorities (Bulgaria), Cross-border Cooperation and European Integration Agency (Republic of Moldova), Executive Committee of Izmail City Council (Ukraine), Municipality of Orestiada (Greece), The National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia (Georgia), Association of Cross-Border Cooperation "Lower Danube Euroregion" (Romania)
- Objective: Development of a cross border green cultural tourism in the project countries. Among the activities implemented within the project is the Green Tourist Weekend which aim was to promote the potential of the Black Sea basin countries as undiscovered places of historical and cultural tourism and to raise awareness of the general public on the possible solutions for protecting heritage while making advantage of its values. The green tourist weekends brought together tourist market operators on international level and green technology producers/distributors, and facilitated them in promoting their services and innovations to the general public and local authorities. This project offers a valuable experience as the HISTORY JOINS US project will develop new tourist routes of historical and cultural heritage sites and offers inputs on methods to promote the cultural-touristic routes.

- Objective - Developing cultural tourism in the border area Galati-Cahul, results - creation of an ethnic-cultural museum in the leisure area Garboavele Forest, consisting of 4 traditional households and the endowment of the households with traditional objects.
- The project "History Joins Us" builds on the prior cooperation experience gained during the implementation of the project "Village Museum - traditional household", continuing the efforts to develop and promote common heritage in Galati, Romania and Cahul, Republic of Moldova. (EN), Joint cultural promotion - a way to develop euroregional cooperation at the Lower Danube (EN) | Programme: Joint Operational Programme Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova 2007-2013

- Project objectives and main results: General objective - To sustain euroregional cooperation through increasing the capacity of public authorities - members of the "Lower Danube" Euroregion - to jointly manage projects with cross-border impact and to intensify the cooperation relations at cultural level.
- Specific objectives - Promoting the image of the "Lower Danube" Euroregion and of its member regions, by highlighting the extremely rich common and specific cultural values in the area; Achieving an experience exchange at the level of public authorities, members of the Euroregion, through the joint organization of great cultural events; Strengthening cross-border cooperation relations at the level of civil society and valuing cultural and ethnic diversity at the Eastern border of the European Union.
- Results - an experience exchange, a cultural promotion campaign, 15% increase of the ethnic minorities' involvement; high performance logistical base for big public events; operating resources for the partners in the project.

- Galati, Romania and Hincesti, Republic of Moldova (EN) | The cooperation proposed by the present project The project „History Joins Us” builds on the cooperation between the Territorial Administrative Unit Galati County and Hincesti District County for the implementation of the project THE PAST HAS A NEW FUTURE, financed under the Joint Operational Programme Romania - Republic of Moldova 2014-2020. The experience gained with the implementation of this project brings updated information on cooperation methods and in cultural promotion in an intensely digitalized society.
- Moreover, the previous project focused on three key aspects of future cultural and touristic development in the area which are similar to the project "History Joins Us": investments in heritage infrastructure, people to people activities and strategies for culture.
- (EN), ESCAPELAND - Development and Promotion of Active Tourism in the Black Sea Basin (EN) | The project ESCAPELAND was financed under The Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Black Sea Basin 2014-2020 and included, among other activities, the creation of a touristic circuit for the active tourism. As such it offers valuable experience and informative background for tackling initiative of the project HISTORY JOINS US to create a new touristic route, this time focusing on cultural and historical heritage.
