- Cross-Border Alliance for Climate-Smart and Green Agriculture in the Black Sea Basin (AGREEN) (EN) | The ADAPTAGRI project has the true potential to create synergies with the AGREEN project - an initiative led by DABS and implemented in the framework of the BSB 2014-2020 programme in the period 1.09.2020-30.05.2023. It covered 6 BSB countries, incl. Bulgaria, Türkiye and Greece. It aimed to and successfully managed to build capacities for networking and transnational knowledge transfer of the development of clime-smart agriculture in the Black Sea Basin, in view of increasing the trade opportunities, economic and social performance of the sector as a development driver in the Black Sea Basin.
- The AGREEN project has delivered some sustainable outcomes that would provide a valuable starting point and direction for the ADAPTAGRI activities and thus, will boost-up the effects of the 2 initiatives. That include:
- (a) established and well functioning community of practice (COP) and an Alliance - whose members have interest in sustainable agriculture in the BSB, and will be invited to participate and contribute to the BSB Platform for Smart and Green Recovery in Agriculture;
- (b) the AGREEN feasibility study of the state of art and potential of climate-smart agriculture complemented with a data-base and map of climate-smart agricultural practices
- and crop models from the Black Sea region shall serve as a valuable starting point for the ADAPTAGRI activities and will significantly contribute to the Research and Analyses that are to be carried out in ADAPTAGRI.
- (c) the experimented and described 3 climate-smart crop models, adapted to the environmental, social and economic conditions in the BSB region will provide insights for the project as a whole andfor the Research and Analyses activities.
- (d) the developed AGREEN Internet platform for liaising sustainable producers will provide important knowledge regarding the preferences and the needs of the potential users of the BSB Platform for Smart and Green Recovery in Agriculture and will also ensure some lessons learnt.
- (EN), CAP for Sustainable Growth: Mission Possible (EN) | In the period 01.06.2016 – 31.05.2017 DABS have implemented an information campaign „CAP for Sustainable Growth: Mission Possible“ in order to improve the public understanding of the new role of Common agricultural policy (CAP 2014-2020) regarding sustainable development and its contribution for a more balanced development of the rural areas at the Bulgarian-Romanian cross-border region (municipalities on both sides of the Danube river).
- The specific objectives of the information measure were:
- (i) to redefine the public debate in Bulgaria by drawing attention to the important social functions that the CAP confers on farmers;
- (ii) to raise awareness and to communicate of the key messages of CAP regarding sustainability of agriculture;
- (iii) to facilitate a rapid and sustainable shift towards a sectoral policy that links agriculture to sustainable development and the provision of public goods such as environmental conservation and food security.
- The good policy understanding, established interactions with policy-making bodies and farmers can inform and support the ADAPTAGRI activities, and in particular
- those related to Development of Policies and Strategies. Moreover, the relations and effects generated by CAP for
- Sustainable Growth: Mission Possible will streamline the wider outreach of the ADAPTAGRI. (EN), The Productive SMEs of Trakya Region (EN) | The Productive SMEs of Trakya Region

- "The Productive SMEs of Trakya Region" project, which was implemented by the Thrace Development Agency to contribute to the socio-economic development of the Thrace region, aims to increase the energy efficiency and process productivity of the SMEs operating in the manufacturing industry in the region and to encourage
- efficiency-oriented production in the Trakya region.
- Trakya region is one of the economically prominent regions of Türkiye in terms of the density and volume of industrial activities. For this reason, efficiency emerges as a key environmental and economic issue for the development of the Thrace region.
- “The Productive SMEs of Trakya Region" project, financed within the framework of the financial cooperation of the European Union and The Republic of Türkiye, and is supported under the Competitive Sectors Program run by The Ministry of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Türkiye.
- The aim of this contract is to improve process and energy efficiency of SMEs and to promote an efficiency-oriented production in the manufacturing industry in TR21 Thace Region. The contract is composed of two pillars: Increasing knowledge and awareness on process and energy efficiency of SMEs, and developing cooperation among regional relevant stakeholders.
- The experience gained in this project about the effect of smart and green approaches in industry is capitalised on in the design and development of ADAPTAGRI project by adapting them to the agricultural sector. (EN), Tourism Paths of the Black Sea Region (EN) | In the period 01.01.2014-31.12.2015 TDA has implemented the "Tourism Paths of the Black Sea Region" under the ENI CBC-BSB Programme. This project focused on establishing cooperation between partner organizations to achieve
- economic, social and touristic development based on shared resources.
- ADAPTAGRI benefits from successful collaboration and networking experience gained during this project. (EN), Provision of Career Services through Multi-stakeholder Approach (EN) | In the period 07.2016- 10.2018 TDA has coordinated Provision of Career Services through Multi-stakeholder Approach project with the budget of 3.672.680. The purpose of this project was to ease students/newly-graduates’ transition to the world of work through career services at the universities in the TR21 Trakya region.
- The TDA has implemented this project with cooperation of partners and stakeholders including Chamber of Commerces, Universities, Municipalities etc. Thereby, ADAPTAGRI project benefits from management, successful collaboration and networking expereince gained. (EN), Support of Entrepreneurship in the Field of In- House Processing of Quality Farm Products in the Districts of Evros, Haskovo, Smolyan and Kardzhali- QUAL FARM (EN) | Interreg GR- BG , Acronym ''Qualfarm '' Project , LB, 668.787.00 EURO, project of partner EEABE SA.

- QUALFARM shall establish 4 Business Support Offices within the premises of the 4 PBs. These support structures shall be responsible for providing mentoring, training and continuous support in triggering innovative entrepreneurship and supporting existing one on the field of agricultural products' processing with particular emphasis on small-scale in-house processing of local quality products that are produced by small farms and by the most dynamic segments of rural population (women, young graduates, etc.). The end-users of the activities include
- farmers and members of farm households; SMEs operating in the agri-food industry.
- The project idea and the partnership were developed on the basis of the experience of the participating (in QUALFARM) Local Action Groups (LAGs), which showed that
- entrepreneurship in rural areas is hindered by certain common challenges, namely:
- (a) Difficulties in obtaining finance; (b) Limited access of entrepreneurs to business know-how; (c) Limited access to information and contacts; (d) Lack of support services; (e) Lack of access/know-how regarding cost saving technologies and (f) Inadequate skills. The project's overall and main objective is to trigger innovative entrepreneurship in the field of quality farm products' processing, with particular emphasis on "in-house" processing i.e. in farms or small workshops. This shall be achieved through the provision of training, mentoring and personal guidance on
- issues of innovation, marketing, food safety and branding by specialised business support structures that will be created within the premises of QUALFARM PBs.
- ADAPTAGRI benefits from both the experience in agri-food sector, and the successful collaboration and networking experience gained during this project. (EN), Clustering in Thrace Region (EN) | The project was awarded by the International Competitiveness Enhancement Program of the Ministry of Trade in 2022 and has being implemented with a total budget of 2,398,000 US Dollars, 75% of which is provided as a grant by the Ministry. The main activities of the project are Needs Analysis Activity, Training and Consultancy Activity, Promotion and Marketing Activities, Activities for Hosting Procurement Delegations and Support to Employment.
- This project has synergy with clustering project as farmers may be integrated in international value chains. (EN)
