Contribution to wider strategies and policies:

    • EUStrategyAdriaticIonianRegion The PortCrew project is built on the EUSAIR pillar 4 “Sustainable tourism” two key objectives: a) Diversification of the macro-region’s tourism products and services along with tackling seasonality of inland, coastal and maritime tourism demand. B) Improving the quality and innovation of tourism offer and enhancing the sustainable and responsible tourism capacities of the tourism actors across the macro-region. The PortCrew key solutions and outputs directly address these two objectives by providing concrete solutions and new strategies.
    • Emilia-Romagna Region PortCrew associated partner and LP ITL are fully integrated into the EUSAIR events and strategies definition. For this reason, all the key outputs developed in the PortCrew project will be promoted and supported during the annual EUSAIR events and embedded in the existing measures targeted to address more sustainable tourism.
    • EuropeanGreenDeal The PortCrew ambition is to develop more sustainable and eco-cruise destinations not only supporting the objectives of the EU Green Deal but also creating a model for responsible and environmentally conscious tourism. By reducing emissions, protecting biodiversity, managing resources efficiently, promoting sustainable mobility, and supporting local socioeconomic development, cruise ports can play a crucial role in the EU's sustainability strategy.
    • TerritorialAgenda2030 -
    • Other EU Strategy for Sustainable Tourism: The PortCrew project's key solutions and outputs are designed to directly strengthen and rethink the value of natural and cultural less-known destinations as new attractive poles for cruise tourists. The project intends to define and test in real contexts new tools and solutions related to a transition to sustainable, responsible and smart tourism. Moreover, the PortCrew solution intends to increase the potential employment opportunities in rural areas for residents, thereby promoting their inclusion in the economic and social values creation.
    • Other United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDG): In relation to UN SDG, PortCrew will answer also to priority 11 of the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations. In particular, the project will contribute to the development of sustainable tourism in urban environments and the surrounding areas. Thanks to the cross-cutting nature of urban issues, PortCrew can indirectly contribute to other priorities, not only linked to the environment but also to training and better governance, but also SdG 9- 13 and 15.
