Throughout history, the Gulf of Bothnia has been an essential channel to the world, which has resulted in the region's rich industrial cultural heritage. Unfortunately, this heritage is not often acknowledged in today's business life, and therein lies unutilized potential. The unique industrial history of the area has the potential to strengthen the identity of today's industry, highlighting its authenticity and long traditions. The project aims to support cultural heritage actors to renew themselves and find new collaboration opportunities with the business sector. Models for cooperation between cultural heritage actors and businesses will be developed together with the target groups. The cultural heritage actors will learn how to create products and service packages that will enrich today's businesses. The process of developing services will be documented in a clear service development model that is freely available after the project has ended.

Expected Achievements (EN):

A way for cultural heritage actors to raise the relevance of the cultural heritage, identified in the pre-study as a specific unutilized potential, is for them to reach out to today's business sectors with attractive products and services. The project will support cultural heritage actors to renew themselves and find new collaboration opportunities with the business sector. The cross-border activities between various actors ensure new ways of sustainably developing high-quality services. The project will explore an underused sector for collaboration, today's business life, and will with its pilots show new year-round business opportunities for cultural heritage actors. When the project ends, cultural heritage actors will have learned how to raise the visibility of the cultural heritage, a new kind of business mindset will have been achieved, and service development models created. The Bothnia Business Heritage Network will continue the development work after project completion.
