Energie(k) Onderwijs is een grensregio project dat jongeren en volwassenen gaat werven, opleiden, omscholen en bijscholen voor beroepen om de energietransitie mogelijk te maken. Avans Hogeschool is de komende 3 jaar penvoerder van het project Energie(k) Onderwijs dat vanuit het Interreg VI programma Vlaanderen Nederland wordt uitgevoerd met subsidie van het Europees Fonds voor Regionale Ontwikkeling. Een duurzaam Europa Om de opwarming van de aarde te beperken, wordt er op Europees niveau hard gewerkt om de uitstoot van broeikasgassen aanzienlijk te verminderen en tot nul terug te brengen in 2050. Om dit te bereiken zijn competenties rond duurzaamheid essentieel. De afgelopen 10 jaar lag de focus van de energietransitie grotendeels op het ontwikkelen en uittesten van innovatieve energietechnieken. Een noodzakelijke voorwaarde maar zeker niet de enige voorwaarde om deze grote, maatschappelijke opgave te laten slagen. Energietransitie vereist vakbekwaam personeel Meer en vakbekwaam (energie)technisch personeel op alle opleidingsniveaus is steeds meer een knelpunt geworden. Het type personeel dat nodig is, zal de komende jaren ook sterk veranderen. Er is behoefte aan verbreding van skills en het aanleren van digitale competenties. Het is goed dat daar van alle kanten steeds meer aandacht voor komt en het project Energie(k) Onderwijs draagt daar ook een steentje aan bij. De weg naar succes Het project Energie(k) Onderwijs zet alles op alles om te voorkomen dat de energietransitie vast gaat lopen door personeelstekorten in de energiesector. Dit doet het project door het: zichtbaar maken van de kwalitatieve en kwantitatieve vraag aan (energie)technisch personeel vanuit de markt;ontwikkelen van nieuwe en betere onderwijsprogramma’s in het secundair en hoger onderwijs, toegespitst op de energietransitie;ontwikkelen van omscholingstrajecten voor zij-instromers;ontwikkelen van bijscholingstrajecten voor huidig personeel en docenten;enthousiasmeren van scholieren, studenten en zij-instromers voor een toekomst in de energietransitie;bevorderen van nationale en regionale samenwerking tussen onderwijs, overheid en bedrijfsleven;creëren van hybride leer-werkplekken bij onderwijsinstellingen en bedrijven. Samenwerking over grenzen heen De uitdagingen waar we aan beide zijden van de grens tegenaan lopen zijn vergelijkbaar. Door grensoverschrijdend samen te werken kan er sneller en efficiënter ingespeeld worden op de noden en kan onderlinge competitie tegen gegaan worden. De betrokken onderwijsinstellingen vertegenwoordigen het merendeel van het secundair/middelbaar en hoger (beroeps-) onderwijs in de betrokken sectoren. En de betrokken ondernemersorganisaties hebben een goed beeld van het werkveld in Nederland en Vlaanderen. Gezamenlijk willen de projectpartners het ook voor elkaar krijgen dat bijbehorende vaardigheidsniveaus over de grens heen erkend gaan worden. Daarom werken in het project 18 onderwijsinstellingen, overheden, een regionaal loopbaanfonds, een regionale intermediair en een ondernemersorganisatie uit Vlaanderen en Nederland intensief samen. Want alleen door grens overstijgende samenwerking krijgen we een slimmer en groener Europa!

Description (EN):

Energie(k) Onderwijs is a border region project aimed at recruiting, training, and retraining young people and adults for professions vital to facilitating the energy transition. Avans University of Applied Sciences will serve as the lead partner for this project over the next three years, which is funded by the Interreg VI Flanders-the Netherlands programme through the European Regional Development Fund. A Sustainable Europe To limit global warming, significant efforts are being made at the European level to drastically reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reach net zero by 2050. Achieving this goal requires essential skills related to sustainability. While the past decade has focused predominantly on the development and testing of innovative energy technologies, this is just one of the necessary components for successfully tackling this major social challenge. The Need for Skilled Personnel in the Energy Transition There is an increasing shortage of qualified personnel in the energy sector at all levels of education. The demand for specific skill sets will also change significantly in the coming years, highlighting the need for broader skills and digital competencies. Thankfully, there is growing attention towards this issue from various stakeholders, and the project is contributing to these efforts. The Road to Success The project aims to prevent the energy transition from stalling due to staff shortages in the sector by: Identifying the qualitative and quantitative demand for (energy) technical staff in the market.Developing improved educational programs in secondary and higher education, focused on the energy transition.Creating retraining programs for individuals transitioning to new careers.Offering further training programs for existing staff and educators.Inspiring students and career changers to envision a future in the energy transition.Promoting collaboration between education, government, and business at both national and regional levels.Establishing hybrid learning-workplaces within educational institutions and companies. Cross-Border Cooperation The challenges faced on both sides of the border are similar, making cross-border cooperation essential for responding effectively to these needs and reducing competition between regions. The involved educational institutions represent a significant portion of secondary and higher vocational education in the relevant sectors. Additionally, the participating business organizations have a clear understanding of the job market in both the Netherlands and Flanders. Together, project partners aim to ensure that the associated skill levels are recognized across borders. To achieve these goals, 18 educational institutions, government entities, a regional career fund, a regional intermediary, and a business organization from Flanders and the Netherlands are collaborating closely within the project. It is through this cross-border partnership that we can create a smarter and greener Europe!
