Description (NL):

De zorg- en welzijnssector in Vlaanderen en Nederland kampt met knelpuntberoepen door de toenemende zorgnood. Vacatures geraken niet ingevuld door een tekort aan zorg- en andere profielen op de arbeidsmarkt. Bovendien is er op korte termijn nood aan heel wat vervangingen bij de huidige zorgprofessionals: zo is één op de drie in Vlaanderen boven de 50 jaar, in westelijk Noord-Brabant is 36% boven de 55 jaar en in Zeeland is dat zelfs 43%. De uitstroom uit de zorg en langdurige uitval door ziekte (burn-out) zorgen dat het onevenwicht tussen vraag en aanbod in de zorgsector wordt versterkt. De sector heeft er dus alle belang bij om niet alleen zorgprofessionals aan te trekken, maar deze vooral zo lang mogelijk aan het werk te houden. Samen aan Z wil het behoud van zorgverleners vergroten door de wendbaarheid en het innovatief vermogen van zowel zorgverleners als -organisaties te verbeteren. Het project zet de komende jaren in op o.a. doorontwikkeling en het samenbrengen van producten, trainingen en samenwerkingsmodellen die uit eerdere projecten ZORO, Blijf aan Z en Care2Adapt voortkwamen. Zo zal er bijv. verder gewerkt worden op Team Champions (teamleden die van onderuit in een team verandering implementeren) voor zorgteams, leiderschapstrajecten, peergroepen en ondersteuning bij de implementatie van arbeidsondersteunende innovaties. Op die manier wil het project inzetten op werkbaar werk (werk waarvan je niet ziek of overspannen wordt, motiverend en boeiend is en kansen biedt op leren en ontwikkelen) en/of binnen de werking arbeidsondersteunend- of arbeidsbesparend zijn. Verder wil Samen aan Z ook samenwerking en dus verbinding creëren tussen organisaties om de impact en draagkracht te vergroten. Samenwerking verhoogt het welbevinden van zorgverleners en bijgevolg de kwaliteit van de zorg, zo toonde de praktijk tijdens de pandemie althans aan.

The healthcare and welfare sector in Flanders and the Netherlands is facing challenges due to a shortage of professionals in response to the growing demand for care. Many vacancies remain unfilled because of a lack of qualified candidates in the labor market. Additionally, there is an urgent need to replace current healthcare professionals, as statistics reveal that one in three workers in Flanders is over 50 years old, 36% of professionals in western North Brabant are over 55, and in Zeeland, this figure rises to 43%. The outflow of workers from the sector and long-term illness due to burnout exacerbate the imbalance between supply and demand in healthcare. Therefore, the sector must not only attract new professionals but also focus on retaining existing ones for as long as possible. To address these issues, Samen aan Z aims to enhance the retention of healthcare providers by improving the agility and innovative capacity of both individuals and organizations within the sector. In the coming years, the project will concentrate on further developing and integrating various products, training programs, and collaborative models that emerged from previous initiatives, such as ZORO, Blijf aan Z, and Care2Adapt. For instance, the project will continue to promote the concept of Team Champions - team members who implement change from within their teams - as well as leadership training, peer support groups, and assistance in adopting work-supporting innovations. Ultimately, Samen aan Z is committed to fostering a healthy work environment - one that is not only motivating and interesting but also offers opportunities for learning and development, thereby reducing stress and illness among professionals. Additionally, the project seeks to promote collaboration and connections between organizations to enhance impact and sustainability. Increased cooperation can improve the well-being of healthcare providers and, consequently, the quality of care provided, as demonstrated during the pandemic.
