Project overview: Incorporating multilingualism is an advantage and facilitates the development of international relations. Our main goal is to include Transcarpathia in the international circulation, which is why we consider it important to transfer information in several languages in education, public life, culture and economic activity. Another aim is to inform minority language speakers about the possibility of using services in their mother tongue. The basic idea of the project is to establish a cross-border cooperation to examine the possibilities and form of language accessibility in HU (Kisvárda), RO (Satu Mare) and UA (Berehovo) and to provide assistance in its implementation. It will bring together the multilingual economic elements in a cross-border database, highlighting public, including economic, actors, and will promote the development of a knowledge base on the subject, joint events and programmes to serve as an extended destination for the region. The knowledge base developed, which includes answers to some critical issues in public life on multilingualism: language use; civil rights issues in the field of language use; labour law and multilingualism, protection of consumer rights, use of online databases and online administration, will provide additional information for public and business leaders alike. The database collected will be used as an information and communication tool for economic and public actors, as a promotional and marketing tool for local producers and venues, and as an information resource for the general public (including migrants) and travellers. Thus, given the cross-border nature and impact of the project, its objectives and results could not be effectively achieved at national/regional/local level alone. All three regions need to join forces and coordinate their efforts to improve language accessibility; therefore, active involvement of cross-border partners is needed.

Expected Achievements (EN):

To effectively highlight the importance of multilingualism in the public life of border regions, and to create a basis for its exploitation. The project aims at enhancing cooperation between 6 organisations in the development of services (programmes, cross-border activities and events) focusing on inclusiveness, contributing to the social, economic development and well-being of the population of the region. This cooperation will also foster the cooperation and promoting linguistic diversity.
