The cross-border regions share several common challenges in their educational systems and broader societal contexts. Inequalities in education systems are prevalent, manifesting as disparities in access to education, learning difficulties, and obstacles to integrating students from diverse cultural backgrounds. Social exclusion is another significant concern, particularly among marginalized communities like the Roma population, who often face discrimination and lack representation in both educational institutions and broader society. The integration of different ethnic pupils, especially disadvantaged groups and Roma, can represent a challenge for many educators nowadays. The main objective of the project is to promote intercultural education in the cross-border regions through joint institutional cooperation. The central focus of the project revolves around fostering intercultural educational practices, promoting intercultural understanding for diversity within the educational landscape of cross-border regions. The project objective will be achieved through implementation of three groups of activities: development of teachers skils in the field of intercultural education, development of positive attitude among pupils and parents for intercultural education, promotion of tolerance and diversity. The target groups of the project are: at least 30 teachers will develop their skils on intercultural education by participating at the cross-border activities; at least 1.100 pupils (1.300 participations as some children may take part in 2 or more activities) at local activities on intercultural education, promotion of tolerance and diversity; at least 30 parents involved in Ukraine in local activities on intercultural education. The project represents an innovative approach by fostering intercultural education in the cross-border area with specific joint and local activities for each of the border regions designed according to the needs and challenges identified.

Expected Achievements (EN):

The main objective of the project is to promote intercultural education in the cross-border region through joint institutional cooperation. The central focus of the project revolves around fostering intercultural educational practices, promoting intercultural understanding for diversity within the educational landscape of cross-border regions. The project shall contribute to the specific objective of priority 3.1. Harmonious neighborly relations through cooperation.
