- BEEP -BIM for Energy Efficiency in the Public sector- ENI CBC Med 2019-2022 (EN) | * STATE OF THE ART ANALYSIS ON BUILDING PERFORMANCE SIMULATION ON HISTORIC BUILDINGS.
- It assesses the use and design of energy efficiency solutions for urban historical buildings, as well as the interaction between historical buildings, their habitants, and the outdoor climate.
- *METHODOLOGY FOR THE ENERGY RENOVATION OF HERITAGE BUILDINGS USING BIM
- Guidelines for the development of an Energy Efficient Heritage Building Information Model (EE-HBIM). It proposes a methodology for energy audits in historical buildings with the purpose of implementing innovative energy solutions.
- The BEEP project provides extensive experience to the SHAREN partners on Mediterranean cooperation to IVE, ISPC-CNR (LP), LCEC and NERC. BEEP aimed at strengthening the use Building Information Modelling to increase energy efficiency in historic buildings. BEEP’s results will be capitalised within the Pilots’ design phase (WP3), in which the characteristics, needs and constraints of the participating historic centres will be assessed in order to build the most impactful pilot on energy shared solutions. Thus, the already acquired knowledge on the topic will provide the necessary foundations to achieve the SHAREN ultimate objectives by addressing the historical centres most relevant challenges. The fact that 4 SHAREN partners have been BEEP partners makes the project results and output really accessible, and lead to the possibility to building meaningful synergies between both NEXT MED projects targeting the same typology of building stock: heritage and historical buildings. (EN), STREAM -Streaming flexibility to the power system- Horizon Europe, 2022-2026 (EN) | STREAMING SPANISH PILOT
- The STREAMING project aims to develop a novel and robust flexibility ecosystem for existing power markets’ low voltage grids. From end users to system operators, this ecosystem will connect data, technologies, stakeholders and markets. The project’s new business models will benefit technical and non-technical features of energy services and other citizen services. Such ecosystem is tested in four pilot sites, one of them managed by Enercoop (SHAREN partner).
- The STREAM pilot will test options and systems to enable local energy communities’ participation in local energy flexibility markets. Thus, the STREAM outcome can be easily capitalised and exploited by SHAREN pilots, concretely the ES REC in Banyeres de Mariola & LB renewable energy cooperatives in Anjar & Byblos, all of them connected to the grid. (EN), ECHO -Innovative thermal energy storage system key to the energy system decarbonisation- Horizon Europe , 2023 2026 (EN) | ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEMS FOR ENERGY COMMUNITIES
- ECHO project plans to develop an alternative thermal energy storage solution. The proposed system will be compact, flexible, modular, plug-and-play, sustainable and digitally controlled. The system will be charged either by exploiting the electricity overproduction from the grid or by directly connecting to renewable energy sources installed in the building. Being Enercoop an ECHO partner, it will facilitate the exploitation of the gathered insights about the impacts & opportunities of energy thermal storage systems for energy communities. (EN), NRG2peers -Towards a new generation of EU peer-to-peer Energy Communities facilitated by a gamified platform and empowered by user-centred energy trading mechanisms and business models- Horizon2020, 2020-2023 (EN) | * GUIDELINES TO INVESTIGATE USERS’ PERCEPTION ABOUT ENERGY COMMUNITY.
- These guidelines provide a baseline for ethnography-inspired pilot energy communities. The document thereby lays the methodological foundation to explore the perception of key stakeholder groups on the energy community understandability, usability, reliability, user-friendliness, cost-effectiveness, decision-driving potential etc., through a people-centred approach. The key idea is to understand the different stakeholders’ perspectives and to include them in making and improving the set up and uptake of (peer-to-peer) energy communities.
- *NRG2PEERS ADVISORY APP
- Through a gamified platform, this app includes: a brief explanation about the kinds of challenges you might face, a questionnaire to help you figure out how ready you are to become a "smart" peer-to-peer energy community, & a whole community of initiatives looking to adopt P2P energy solutions.
- *POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS: Energy communities are emerging as a promising solution to drive the transition towards a sustainable and decentralised energy system. To support the development and success of energy communities, it is essential to establish a supportive policy framework. This document is a comprehensive set of policy recommendations aimed at fostering the growth of energy communities.
- As a project partner, IVE coordinated a project pilot in Alginet (València), for which the NRG2peers output is exploitable in the SHAREN ES Pilot also constituting an Energy Community with peer-to-peer exchange. (EN), MODERATE – Open Marketplace for Building Data - Horizon Europe, 2022-2026 (EN) | LOCAL ENERGY COMMUNITIES’ LOCATION ASSESSMENT TOOL
- A key issue for the new promoters of LECs is understanding the feasibility of their area of interest to become an energy community with renewable energy production. To support LECs promoters and interested parties, such as citizens, this tool aims at assessing the feasibility of locations (municipalities) to develop LECs considering a wide range of data and knowledge, including energy consumption data, cadastral data with geometric information, intended use, available space on roofs, electrical system types, and more. Advanced data analytic techniques are applied to process and model this data to generate a feasibility report usable for supporting decisions towards the development of new LECs. With the increased interest on energy communities, this tool will be of high value, providing a very useful insight and an initial feasibility assessment for the development of a LEC in an area of interest.
- As IVE and Enercoop are MODERATE project partners’ the MODERAT LECs assessment tool is easily exploitable not only for the REC SHAREN frontrunner partners, but also the follower ones drafting their Local Action Plans. (EN), E-RIHS IP - European Research Infrastructure for Heritage Science Implementation Phase- Horizon Europe, 2022-2024 (EN) | E-RIHS MOBILE LABORATORY MOLAB
- E-RIHS delivers integrated access to interdisciplinary expertise, data, and cutting-edge technologies to enhancing the understanding and sustainable use of heritage. MOLAB is an energy and environmental analysis facility providing cutting edge instrumentation and know how to support energy and environmental improvement interventions on built heritage.
- As CNR-ISPC is a E-RIHS IP lead partner, MOLAB can be capitalised as a complementary tool to the SHAREN Solution & the considerations for the 6 Local Actions Plans on ESS solutions comprising both private and public buildings in heritage historic centres. (EN), REMURBAN - REgeneration MOdel for accelerating smart URBAN transformation, Horizon2020, 2015-2020 (EN) | INVENTORY ON INNOVATIVE PPP SOLUTIONS AND APPROACHES
- REMOURBAN aims at the development and validation in three lighthouse cities (Valladolid-Spain, Nottingham-UK and Tepebasi/Eskisehir-Turkey) of a sustainable urban regeneration model that leverages the convergence area of the energy, mobility and ICT sectors. This output deepens o PPP -public-private partnerships- solutions for the purpose of sustainable energy projects and innovative solutions, and digs into the legal framework and implications for each of them. Thus, SHAREN will exploit such input in the Pilot implementation with WP4, when constituting the energy communities in the targeted cities.
- REMURBAN is led by CARTIF -a Spanish research organisations-, specialised in heritage and building stock among others, which will facilitate the exploitation of REMURBAN outputs, mostly available online. (EN), SCCALE 203050 -Sustainable Collective Citizen Action for a Local Europe- Horizon 2020, 2021-2024 (EN) | COMMUNITY ENERGY METHODOLOGY GUIDE
- Sustainable Collective Citizen Action for a Local Europe intends to bring Europe closer to its citizens by fostering the creation of energy communities, taking full advantage of the favourable EU legal framework on citizen energy. The methodology guide focuses on the citizen engagement side of developing a diverse range of community energy projects. Despite SCCALE is not limited to renewable energy communities, this methodology suggests 4 stages to be replicated into r energy-sharing solutions: inspiration, preparation, implementation and operation, with four workflows in each of them: citizen engagement, technology, partners and organisation.
- A total of 42 steps are developed in the guide, which can be replicated int eh SHAREN Renewable Energy Communities Action Plan drafted in WP3 and finetuned in WP5 .
- Financing guide for energy communities (EN), InEExS -Innovative Energy (Efficiency) Service Models for Sector Integration via Blockchain- LIFE 2022-2025 (EN) | OPTIMISED SELF-CONSUMPTION OF DISTRIBUTED ENERGY RESOURCES IN ENERGY COOPERATIVES BUSINESS CASE
- The core concept of InEExS is the deployment of integrated energy services across sectors and carriers, and the tokenization of energy saving data in a public blockchain to facilitate cooperation among market segments and actors. As one of its pilots/business cases, InEExC PV self-consumption within energy community users by implementing incentivisation mechanisms through messages and the utilization of tokens via Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) (blockchain). This is implemented in ES by Enercoop, for which improved self-consumption method for Energy Communities can be capitalised & exploited into SHAREN pilots. (EN), Interreg MED Renewable Energy Community, Interreg MED (EN) | ETU TOOLBOX
- By establishing the Interreg MED Renewable Energy Community and capitalising 6 modular projects, this project designs an energy transition governance model -Ecosystemic Transition Unit (ETU)- to support energy transition in the Mediterranean, particularly rural and island communities. The ETU toolbox, to be capitalised in SHAREN, is based on four pillars that converge in energy communities: the territorial -planning-, technological -facilities-, the social -communities- and the legal -governance-. This toolbox will be exploited and transferred into urban areas, particularly those tools related to energy communities, governance models and awareness raising activities, which SHAREN pursues in WP4. (EN), ShareRES -SHAring REnewable eneRgy through Energy communitieS GREEN Renewable energy - Interreg Europe, 2023-2027 (EN) | SHARERES GOOD PRACTICES DEPOSITARY AND INTERREGIONAL EVENTS DOSSIERS
- The Best Practices identified within ShareRES aim at empowering citizens within the energy market through energy communities that impulse renewable energy projects and private investments. Increasing public awareness is also targeted by the ShareRES best practices, which will mainly contribute to the benchmarking actions within the Pilot set u-up phase and the actors’ preparation for the pilots’ test, which includes capacity building and stakeholders' engagement.
- Besides, the Study Visit Dossiers reveal innovative energy-sharing pilots already implemented, such as the INNOINVEST (Interreg POCTEP) pilot deployed in Extremadura, which combined energy communities with innovative materials for energy efficiency.
- IVE has actively collaborated with the Extremadura Energy Agency, both within European projects -such as LIFE FACILITA- and beyond, which paves the way towards ShareRES results’ exploitation. (EN), CO-CLEAN -CO-designed and implementation of loCal sustainable energy action -Interreg IPA CBC Italy-Albania-Montenegro, 2020- 2021 (EN) | CO_CLEAN aimed at increasing energy efficiency and renewable energy in the cooperation area by implementing energy communities’ pilots inspired in the principle of energy democracy and active energy citizens. The indicated output presents innovative energy market strategies for energy transition, while assessing each country’s legal framework and proposing a roadmap to implement energy communities, among other solutions, and reflects on necessary steps such as the preliminary energy diagnosis, the feasibility study and the EC establishment.
- The Italy legal and policy assessment will be capitalised in WP3 Context analysis. Furthermore, five pilots were implemented, being the one in the Municipality of Brindisi (Italy) the most meaningful one. As Italy is a “follower” county in the SHAREN project, the CO-CLEAN steps towards an energy community in Brindisi can be inspirational and replicated by CNR in an Italian city when drafting its Action Plan within WP3. The accessibility of Co-CLEAN outputs and the extensive CNR’s network of contacts will enable the exploitation of CO-Clean results. (EN)
